I am happy to share that we have shipped the Bullets and Numbering in 26.4 update for Illustrator. It’s a phased rollout so you may not see 26.4 update yet but it would rollout globally in a day or two.
You can read about this and other new features here ( https://helpx.adobe.com/in/illustrator/using/whats-new/2022-5.html ).

The most recent version finally has the Object > Distribute menu added.
Now both Align and Distribute commands can be accessed via menu and have assigned keyboards shortcuts to them.
The order of the commands though seemingly matches the one the panel has: horizontal first for Align and vertical first for Distribute. If you find this odd and want to change it — vote here: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-desktop-feature-requests/suggestions/45855823-sync-the-order-of-align-and-distribute-menu-comman
Also, Align To and Distribute Spacing commands are still missing in top menus, so please keep voting here to make them added too.

The latest Beta 29.2.38 now offers a way to see the distances between a selected object and an object hovered over / edges of an artboard.
- Click on the object you want to measure the distance from
- Press Opt/Alt and hover over the object that you want to measure distance to
- You can also hover over empty area to see the distance from the selected object and the artboard boundaries
Please try it and come back with the feedback.

Does it happen all the time for you, or occasionally? in any file, or a specific one? If a certain one — can you share it?
What is your exact OS details and version used?
Can you record a short video demonstrating the issue?
Please comment back, the team lack details on this issues and can’t really start investigations this.
An error occurred while saving the comment Intuos commentedForgot to add: this occurs on Windows 10 20H2, Illustrator 25.2.
An error occurred while saving the comment Intuos commentedSame issue here, it is also somehow dependent on how the selection is drawn. If I start with the lasso tool on top of an object and end on the object it sometimes works, it mostly doesn't though.

An error occurred while saving the comment Intuos commentedIt would be nice if you could select objects within or partially within another object's boundary. This saves lots of manual selecting.

The problem still persists in AI version 25.2. I am unable to save any larger files 77 mb+ with PDF compatibility.
