An error occurred while saving the comment I’ll try to bring more attention to it. Recent bugs usually have better chances to be fixed soon.
If the bugfix happens, it’d most probably land in Beta first. I’ll update the status of the report when it happens.
For now, I’m afraid, the only solution would be to downgrade — I can’t tell how far though.An error occurred while saving the comment I confirm it.
I distilled this problem to a single observation. If a group with symbols has a path with a blending mode other than normal, this bug happens.This feels very much like a bug with Blends I’m going to report.

Seems to work as expected in Beta 30.0.0.72 — moving an object now works as expected. Please try to update and verify if it’s safe to be pushed into General build

An error occurred while saving the comment Right now I have a plan and a ton of dimensions. Within the same document, on a same artboard, I need to create another smaller set of dimensions.
If we were able to control the layer Ai puts these in, I’d just go and set 'dimensions_electrics' for this new set I need to make.
But for now I’d have to create 'dimensions_general', put the existing ones in it, and collect new ones into 'Dimensions' (Capitalized, because screw us).

An error occurred while saving the comment Brian, if only it was simple, this 'simply allow'.
Ai is a behemoth with dependencies as bones and existing workflows as veins. Changing anything that simple can cause everything to crumble, in the most unexpected place imaginable. Actually, the problems you are seeing the large canvas mode is causing (while it being a rather harmless band-aid, applied to the surface of the behemoth) would be a tiny fraction of problems a truly infinite canvas would cause to the model. And it’s like performing a surgery on a living brain, since Illustrator is always is in use by us.But I agree.

Speaking about cropping — I assume that artboards behind assets are smaller than objects themselves? and Ai gives no way to 'hug' the objects, but from chosen sides (like right and bottom only)? or do I get it wrong? -

Perhaps other users who had it could tell more.An error occurred while saving the comment Doesn’t happen from me at Windows 10/11... If my global units (in Preferences) are set to pixels, the units stay in pixels when I change the Keyboard Increment value... Can you please tell what OS are you using?
Can you reproduce it anew? A clear chain of steps (preferably in a video, to follow it exactly) would help to investigate it. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Yeah, creating an artboard sized rectangle is a very common operation indeed.
There is script that does that, named after a removed Release Artboard command in CS4, when multiple artboards were introduced.
Rename the attached file to .jsx instead of .txt and make an action that runs it.An error occurred while saving the comment Ryan, I had a script that does exactly this. If you remember, before CS4 we had only one artboard, and there was a command 'Release Artboard' that converted an artboard into a rectangle. So this is why the script is called like that :) (rename it to .jsx from .txt)
And sure, it should be a default function, both Scale to artboard and Create an Artboard Sized Rectangle.

Some of these are already requested / reported, some others are decent enough to have their own entry... Piling these like this makes it harder for the team to track the interest of users and for the users to find and upvote.

Not sure what you mean exactly. Please provide at least some screenshots, with before and after.7. As far as I know, this is handled by OS and the target apps themselves.
It’s WahtsApp who prefers to choose the graphics part of the clipboard multi-content, just because it can.
You’d have to 'Paste as text' inside of the WhatsApp page / app.
Another method would be to go to Preferences > Clipboard handling and disable Include SVG Code on Copy — but then you’ll loose the ability to paste graphics into apps who can handle SVG data better than WhatsApp, like Figma. It’s your choice, Ai can’t guess it.8. Increasing values with right mouse / pen button...

Have you tested this particular file you shared? Perhaps moving the object into another file has fixed the problem?
