An error occurred while saving the comment There is nothing to investigate without a test file, sadly...
If anyone experience this too, please share a packaged document (with fonts included) here (if you are allowed to do this), or privately via sharewithai@adobe.com -

An error occurred while saving the comment Which version is that?
Did it behave like this in the previous version?
Have you tried to reset preferences? (here is a nice instruction on why and how to do this: https://astutegraphics.com/support/tutorials-and-troubleshooting/resetting-illustrator-preferences) -

I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 27.1.1 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

This behavior is most probably cause by Paste Remembers Layers option, accessible in the Layers panel’s flyout menu.
When it’s enabled, Illustrator tries to paste copied objects into their original layers.
If the option it disabled, but it still does not work as you want it to, please reply back.

An error occurred while saving the comment Recently Illustrator finally allowed to stop Pencil from auto-joining with the dedicated 'Close paths when ends are within a set tolerance' option in Pencil Tool Options (https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/931888/suggestions/41727652)
However, sometimes this behaviour is welcome, and the decision to use it can be made on the go, while drawing. It’s not efficient to go to settings each time and toggle it.
I propose to utilize Cmd/Ctrl modifier key (while the mouse button is held / pen is pressed) to temporarily toggle the chosen behaviour — force join if it’s off, or forbid join if it’s on.

An error occurred while saving the comment This sucks. 30 seconds is completely unusable.
There are two possible workarounds left — to upgrade or to downgrade.
If lagging continues — please comment back. -

An error occurred while saving the comment So you want Ai to not draw a bounding box for a while after an arrow key is pressed? This lag will irritate a lot of users. There is no way for the system to distinguish a single press from a continuous one, because the time is the only difference, so Ai would have to visually 'lag' — and this is how everybody will feel about it, really.
There is a workaround, to disable the bounding box before you start eyeballing.

An error occurred while saving the comment I offered this only as a workaround and to understand why don’t you use it. It is indeed a simple Select All with the bounding box disabled. Small squares are just anchors. Yes, they obstruct paths, but serve the highlight function well...
So you just want to replicate the InDesign’s approach, correct?
An error occurred while saving the comment Ah, I see, that’s a good example. So the idea is an understandable one, but the solution you offer is not the best one. But I dig the point!
Here, I made a mockup, take a look (don’t mind the layout, it’s a quick one).
Does it look sufficient for your cause? An error occurred while saving the comment I don’t think I get the reason behind this.
The bounding box is by definition is a single entity only, because it marks the focused artwork. So it’d be not wise to break a general paradigm just to ease a search which happens only occasionally.
But I wish to understand and help. Can you demonstrate a case, a screenshot of the artwork you struggle with? What objects do you want to locate with the approach you propose?
Also — please check 'Show Anchor Points in Selection Tool and Shape Tools' option, located in Preferences > Selection & Anchor Display (usually off). Does turning this on makes it’s easier to see objects, when you use Select All?

Sometimes guides inside of groups is something a user wants, but in some cases (especially when guides are hidden) a guide in a group can cause a lot of troubles.

Sara, does it happen with all the files or only this one?
Was it happening with this file in the previous version of Ai? Can you install it and test it?
What are your full OS specs?
Can you share the file for the team to test, here in the comment or via sharewithai@adobe.com?
