An error occurred while saving the comment Yes, I can confirm that, and I attach some files from the user who also discovered this.
The pale circles is the second fill below with the Offset Path effect applied to it (see the .ai attached).
So when Preview Bounds is on, the bounding box jumps abruptly.
It should be re-worked so that the overall size followed the cursor position, even if the 'speed' of the scaling differs in different cursor’s position. No jumps!

An error occurred while saving the comment Hm. To be able to use Shape Builder tool you have to have some intersecting shapes already drawn on the canvas. The tool allows to join them together or subtract one from another, or intersect. It’s a modifying tool, you can’t create new shapes from nothing with it, only based on existing art.
Try to watch some videos about using it.
If, however, you are well aware of what you are doing and I got you wrong, — please comment back and rephrase the problem. -

As per the comment, the solution might be to check the Constrain Angle value in Preferences > General (Cmd/Ctrl + K) — it should be 0.
If you still have this issue when it’s set to 0, please comment.
An error occurred while saving the comment Hm. For some reason that 1 inch square has a rotation angle specified in the Shape section of the Transform panel, 0.125°... If you reset it to zero, the width and height (measured, in W and H fields) now match rectangle’s dimensions.
Why was this angle set in the first place, I wonder... I see no way to get the rotation inherited on the creation, as you described it.
Can you all please try to test it a bit more to see when and how the angle is forced? -

t.takizawa 様、

An error occurred while saving the comment By 'action' you mean an Action form Actions panel or a user action?
Can you please share the file to check if it’s a file specific bug?

An error occurred while saving the comment VectorFirstAid form AstuteGraphics plugin pack can partially solve this, but it greatly depends on the quality of the imported file.
Have you tried it, Ola? It’s a paid tool, but it helps more than it costs. And, yes, I’d like to have something like this form the box...

An error occurred while saving the comment It feels like the Illustrator window is not in focus when you press the hotkey and it goes to OS... and it does what it should. Are you sure the window is focused?
If it just started to behave like this, and you are still on 2020, and it never used to behave like this, I assume this is not Ai’s fault... -

I am closing the ticket due to lack of response.
Please get in touch with us at sharewithai@adobe.com or any of the other support channels – https://helpx.adobe.com/support.html . Please give a reference to this post so that we can identify you.
Since this is not a generic issue that we can reproduce at our end, we will need someone to look into your machine to figure out what is going on here.

An error occurred while saving the comment Hm. I am checking this in the fresh release, and yeah, pressing and holding Shift before clicking the object (no matter if it’s text or not) deselects it.
But when I check this in older versions, like 10, it is the same exact behavior. So it was never an option to do that. Shift+click always subtracted/added to selection.
Click and hold Shift after is the way to constraint, and it works — first drag then constrain.Mark, you were the last who joined the report — can you shed more light on that, please?

It seems to be fixed now. Can you please confirm (or deny) that?
