An error occurred while saving the comment Same exact behavior
An error occurred while saving the comment Can reproduce this, also in the Beta...
I think the team has decided we need to see the object better when we adjust the color, with no distraction... but how can we control it, and why normal (non-compund) paths aren’t affected? or it can be a bug, sure.
Either way, it’s my guess only for now.An error occurred while saving the comment Does it get disabled (and can be then enabled back with the View > Show Bounding Box command), or does it vanish completely?
Same in GPU / CPU Preview modes?
Do you get it rendered back when you select other compound paths? Other objects?
If you have Beta — does it behave like this in the Beta as well? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Adobe decided to update the forums... again... the link is dead (as usual), and the post is nowhere to be seen. Nothing in the web archive as well...

An error occurred while saving the comment There are ways to program something like this already, both on Mac and Windows... but with external tools, like Keyboard Maestro, Hammerspoon, Autohotkey. But Ai could definitely do better from the box. Some changes were planned, but not as large as this one, and I don’t have any info on when exactly...

An error occurred while saving the comment Sad to hear it... Am I right thinking the same test files you shared with the team still can be used to make this happen? After resaving them? As well as other new docs?
An error occurred while saving the comment When I try to open the document (the PDF one, not the original .ai — it’s missing, sadly), I have no problems with the images...
Please send the original .ai to sharewithai@adobe.com directly, to avoid UV’s spam robot, and mention the link to this report so they can track it back here — http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/50671049An error occurred while saving the comment It’s OK, I restored the comments. UV decided to treat them as spam for any odd reasons it has, sorry for this.
An error occurred while saving the comment The discussion doesn’t mention using networks, but I assume the corrupted images look similarly.
When you say 'vanish' — do you mean the way these look? You don’t mean these actually vanish from the document as objects, right?
When this happens, does fiddling with GPU and making a local copy of the file restore the way these look? Do you need to restart Ai to achieve this? The only thing I personally can do is to help you to gather as much details as possible to help the team to investigate this — this is what I'm trying to do :) I work with files in a local network as well, but this bug never happened with me or my colleagues (if it did, it’d be good! ...in a weird sense)
An error occurred while saving the comment There is a larger request on the topic:
https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/33341182
It asks for specific steps to perform if this happens — please try to follow the instruction.
Won’t merge this into it, since the last activity there was reasonably long time ago, but would will watch it.Do you embed these images manually, or do you check Include Linked File option when setting options on Save?
Do you save the file locally or via network or in a cloud? -

An error occurred while saving the comment @jlg5876, please tell more about the settings you use to export a PDF (Ai offers many), attach screenshots to provide more details.
Do you notice this in one file only or do you get this behavior in many others? If only file is affected, can you share it with the team? You can either do it here or send via sharewithai@adobe.com (in this case please mention the link to this report for backtracking: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/51174331) -

Does this happen for Hex Code field only or are you seeing this on other fields as well? Also, let us know more about your system details and Illustrator version.
An error occurred while saving the comment Can’t reproduce using both the dropdown panel from Properties / Control or the actual Color panel in 30.3 on Windows 10.
Clicking the 'Click to copy value' button selects the field AND copies the value (I checked)......actually I don’t like how it’s designed — selecting the value makes us think we NEED to copy it, and the button just selects... other editors in similar or related conditions show a shy message or change the icon for the button, indicating the copying happened.
Plus perhaps this problem is related to the old problem with clipboard occasionally not working?

An error occurred while saving the comment Yes, it’d be great to have this warning.
The VectorFirstAid plugin by Astute Graphics has one (with an option to disable it) for its Completely Ungroup function: https://docs.astutegraphics.com/vectorfirstaid/vectorfirstaid-panel/vectorfirstaid-panel-flyout-menu

Hi,
We weren't able to reproduce this issue on our end, so we'd like to gather a few more details to help us investigate further:
1. Wacom/tablet driver version- Could you share the exact driver version you're currently using?
2. Did this issue appear immediately after upgrading to a specific Illustrator version?
3. Illustrator version currently installed?
Regards,
Aishwarya
An error occurred while saving the comment Inkscape having similar (although a bit different) spikes is a sign it’s not entirely Ai’s problem... but then again, it works fine on older Ai builds... quite odd.
Thank you for making such a long journey and reporting it. Hope the team would be able to reproduce it on a similar setup. -

The team is investigating this.
An error occurred while saving the comment A similar report, but this time it applies to any object dragged:
Object edge highlight color reverts to black while moving objects
http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/51161878An error occurred while saving the comment Yes, I confirm this.
Its’ not only white ones that get the edge, it’s all objects (including text, symbols, raster art...)
Sometimes these edges are cyan, sometimes black... it feels like it depends on the last selection, but I didn’t bother much to dig deeper.
It doesn’t depend on any of the snapping options, on rulers enabled, on transparency grid, but stops when CPU Preview gets enabled... specifically, disabling only Real-Time Drawing and Editing makes it stop.
I think it’s a bug. Thanks for reporting it! -

An error occurred while saving the comment This one feels related:
Dragging a guide with Real-Time Drawing and Editing mode enabled makes black or cyan edges appear for all objects
http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/50809592Does dragging a guide at your side leads to a similar effect?

An error occurred while saving the comment Somehow I believe the 'Make Envelope' button is involved... it’s the single button that appears in the Control panel only with one text object selected. But I’d expect it to work the other way, to collapse some sections (including the Align one) when it’s present, not the other way around...
Your screen has 1920 px width, correct?
Lane, please share this simple test file here.
Does it look the same when you are switching into CPU Preview mode? What GPU are you using? Please tell more about your system specs.
