An error occurred while saving the comment Interesting... still can’t reproduce. Although I’m on Windows, perhaps this matters.
Aslam, can you please record a small video of you doing this, with Layers panel opened and visible, in a new document, to clearly define the steps? I must be missing something. Thank you!An error occurred while saving the comment Asiam, not sure I follow.
You say 'placing images' — do you mean File > Place? When I try, it just places the image into the currently active layer.
If you mean 'pasting images' — well, that’s what Paste Remembers Layer does... Please elaborate. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Hi! I suppose you don’t have these Q and R that worked poorly with Offset Path and rotation, after 4 years after reporting the problem at UserVoice?
If you can, please try to reproduce it, and if you are able — please share these files. Screenshots are good, but nothing can be discovered from them, only the actual documents.
Thanks!

Confirmed to work as expected in the latest build. If it still happens to you — please comment.
An error occurred while saving the comment Ton, can you still reproduce it?
The old link is dead (well, obviously).I try it today and it works.
Offset Path won’t work if the offset path collapses (that is smaller than the object), but it seems to not be the case. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Vanja, are you still having this problem?
If yes — can you share a test file and a video, with the Align panel visible in frame? -

Expected to be fixed in Beta 30.2 — please check if it works there as expected.
An error occurred while saving the comment There are too similar reports on the topic:
1. Paragraph Styles reverting back — https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/35908849
2. File does not keep imported and applied paragraph styles after saving the file — https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/33643333
Do these feel familiar? An error occurred while saving the comment Reggie, can you share a test file with the team? A couple of screenshots, to see which styles got added, would also be helpful.
Attach them here, if it’s OK to share them publicly, or send these via sharewithai@adobe.com (in this case mention the link to this report, http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/50970673) -

An error occurred while saving the comment I was thinking about my own feature request about more general tool, and this is just a perfect foundation for it :)

An error occurred while saving the comment For me it’s stuck with Medium, so I assume it tries to pick one on its own...
I wish to say 'hey, just close all documents change the Layers’ Panel Options to modify the default option' — but NO, Ai doesn’t allow us to do this :(
So yes, I’, all in.(Strangely, 'Paste Remembers Layer' is the only option we can toggle with no documents open... and this also requires to have that bulky Home Screen disabled anyway, or we won’t see panels at all with no docs...)

An error occurred while saving the comment Which ones irritate you the most?
An error occurred while saving the comment Paul this request feels like an expansion to the one request you shared a link to...
I’d merge them together and just corrected the title to 'Make Layers Panel Options global (not per document) and keep it after relaunch'.
What do you think? -

The problem got solved with toggling the 'Reduce transparency' option.
An error occurred while saving the comment I never heard about an option like this, but I’m not a Mac user...
No worries! Don’t delete it, it might be useful for other users who happen to face a similar problem. Closing it.An error occurred while saving the comment Sorry, if I get this wrong, but do you mean contrast in top menus (as in the screenshot), or somethings else? Can you share the way these look in other places, in other apps?

Please help the team to find the steps to reproduce this problem. Record a video that has the full workspace visible.
An error occurred while saving the comment A 'pseudo-panel' is what I call that panel that pops when we click a color chip. In your case, it’s when you double-click a gradient stop. Why 'pseudo'? Well, it’s not a standalone true draggable consistent panel... it’s a shortcut to swatches, but not THE Swatches panel. A dropdown panel might also work.
Apart from this — yes, this is what I see is happening... but still the team struggles to reproduce it, at various machines :(
Something is missing. At least there is a workaround so far.An error occurred while saving the comment The 'Edit Gradient' button just picks the Gradient tool (that’s why it’s not in Gradient panel if the tool is picked manually) — and the gradient annotator only gets shown with the tool picked.
So it looks like selecting a swatch for a gradient stop, called from a pseudo-panel with a double-click, only works for you when the Gradient tool is picked... correct?
An error occurred while saving the comment Doesn’t happen for me, as the GIF demonstrates, at 30.1 on Windows 10...
So that must be something else, not the document.Tanja, what if you try to use other native means of changing the color of a stop? The Color panel, the Properties, the Control?
Anyway, please share the full specs of your OS.
Also backup your preferences (in case you need to restore them or the team would need to study them) and try to reset them. Many bugs suddenly vanish when these get reset (which is both good and bad).An error occurred while saving the comment I can’t reproduce it, and a global color gets assigned to a gradient stop just fine.
here are numerous factors that can limit the bug, so it can easily be localized. So no wonder Adobe ignores it, they just knew nothing about it until this report...
Does it happen for any gradient at all? Can you share a test file, please? Also full details about your setup: OS build, Ai version, etc.Furthermore, I am seeing you are an Astute Graphics user... can you please also check if you are able to change the color of the stop using their Gradient Forge plugin? To know if it’s an object problem or the panel problem or something else entirely.

An error occurred while saving the comment I can confirm this... nothing I try (including pathfinder operations) makes the text to loose this unwanted immunity.
Only the transformations made with the bounding box are bugged, but not those done with dedicated Scale or Rotate transformation tools.
Works fine in CS6.

Transform Again works with transformations only: Scale (probably what is meant), Rotate, Move, etc. Offset Path is a filtering operation, and won’t be affected with Cmd/Ctrl+D.
An error occurred while saving the comment I’ve just checked this behavior in several older versions, to make sure; CS4, CS6, CC2017 — none of these treats the Offset Path command as a valid operation to repeat for Transform Again. Offset Path is not a transformation, but a filter operation, that creates a new path based on a selected one. Transform Again works with moving, rotating, skewing, etc.
In your case it was probably Scale, not the Offset path.
It won’t give you the same amount of width added though, the scaling would be relative to the previous shape scaled... but Ai offers many other ways to achieve what you wan (I think): you can make an action that runs the operation and assign it to an F-key, there are several plugins that automate it (by Graffix and Astute Graphics), there is the native Polar Grid tool (it doesn’t have preview, but it does the job).I doubt this comment is useful — 8 years passed! — but perhaps it can serve somebody else.
An error occurred while saving the comment In CC 2015 it is not possible. Are you sure this was ever an option?
Still, I don’t think that Offset Path is a 'transformation' The original path stays unchanged, so there’s nothing to repeat. Changing position, though, is a transformation in a general sense.
On the other hand, averaging two points is surely a transformation, but it is not repeated with Ctrl+D....If you want to apply several offsets to a path, try AG Offset Path plugin.

An error occurred while saving the comment Yep, this is happening.
Simply selecting the text in both threaded frames makes it obvious the rendered outlines don’t match the actual characters placed.
Thanks you for sharing this! I’ll try to push it further. An error occurred while saving the comment Sandra, can you please share a test file with these linked text boxes?
When you edit the first one — does the second one change as well?
If the first one overflows — does the text go into the second one as expected?
If you can, please record a short video of the behavior, just in case it works like this on you computer only. Also — what Illustrator version are you using and when did you first start noticing it?
What is your system’s specs? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Theresa, it’s hard to say anything without a test file provided...
Based on my own experience, it might be related to the settings of the Eyedropper and the appearance for text.
Try to catch it, isolate into a file, make sure it’s reproducible, supply steps — as a text or a video.
Just in case — does it happen on Mac only? with any font? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Please share a test file and the exact color settings used (as a screenshot of the dialog or a .csf file, zipped or file type renamed — not sure if UserVoice would allow attaching a CSF), so the team could try to reproduce it in house.
As for the other issues — don’t hesitate to log and upvote. -

An error occurred while saving the comment It is related to this request as well:
An ability to create custom bevel profiles for 3D and Materials Extrude
https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/47686964An error occurred while saving the comment I tried to see if using a Bevel and Extrude would work to have less flattened look.. it does indeed, but it obviously adds sharper corners than inflate does.
For me the idea makes perfect sense, and It’d be happy just toe get a second value to control the curve, similar to how it's done in a lesser known Xara (but for blend profiles, see the GIF)... it does not offer the same for the bevel profiles (and has presets only), but does allow to make the corners smooth )the second GIF). -

An error occurred while saving the comment Juan, wait a bit... are you using Free Transform tool to scale an area type? I noticed the cursor in the video.
To scale an area type you should use Selection tool with the bounding box enabled. Plus, it would work for scaling only area type texts together — nothing else included in the selection, not the point type you have there selected initially, not a background rectangle underneath — this limitation irritates me a lot, but currently I try to understand what do you try.An error occurred while saving the comment Creative Cloud Desktop should have the Beta section in it, it’s available for all the users.
You can install the Beta version next to the general one, they co-exist just fine. The only problem is that Windows would make it the default app to open .ai files when installed, and it’s not that simple to force it to tell the difference, since it can’t really distinguish General Ai from Ai Beta.
So, if you are interested in making this fixed (and have some new features — and sometimes bugs!), you can either try this build, or try to downgrade, or just wait until the fix gets pushed into the next GA build. An error occurred while saving the comment Juan, there was a similar problem with this in 30.X, fixed in the latest Beta, starting with build 45.
What version are you trying this with (this is reported in Beta Bugs, but IU have to ask). Does it work for you in Beta as it should?

An error occurred while saving the comment Hi! Yeah, I can tell. I remember mentions of a similar behavior, but couldn’t find other reports. In my memory the screenshots were quite dates, from CS era. Glad it’s gone.
An error occurred while saving the comment Yury, do you still have this issue on your new M2 Ultra Mac Studio with Ai 30.1?
The text seems to be a copy of the text on canvas, but typed in a different layout, with some characters misplaced... odd!
Did or do you have any clipboard managers installed? What are / were your Clipboard Handling settings in Preferences?
