An error occurred while saving the comment An error occurred while saving the comment Can’t replicate :( Just won’t happen for me, does not matter if the color group has global colors in it or not.
Can you reproduce it a brand new file with default swatches? An error occurred while saving the comment Sorry, I can’t understand how do you rename a swatch group using the Color Guide panel. The panel just does not provide this function, as far as I know. It is possible to Save Color Group first, and then open the Recolor Artwork dialog, and rename from there, but it works fine, no duplication happens for me.
Can you please record a short video to demonstrate the exact steps you perform?

An error occurred while saving the comment What’s a point in having an access to a cloud if it can’t be used to backup and restore my settings...
Guess who solved this problem recently? Astute Graphics, with their https://astutemanager.com
Only actions require loading them manually (well, it’s how Ai is coded, it seems), but everything else just appears instantly when installed via the manager. An error occurred while saving the comment Dreamweaver is a great example of how an Adobe app can and should manage this: https://helpx.adobe.com/ca/dreamweaver/using/synchronizing-dreamweaver-settings-creative-cloud.html
Keeps settings as XML files.
Has a dedicated section in Preferences.
Offers to pick data to be synced.
Supports automated and manual modes.
Manages sync conflicts.
Not ideal — but it cares.

An error occurred while saving the comment Recently Ai added the Snapping Quick Access Panel, placed in the top right corner of the Control panel.
It partially solves the problem, but:
1. It requires having Control enabled, and at some point Ai decided to disable it by default in favor of Properties panel
2. It has only snapping options and not other toggles
3. It still requires a click to open, and there is no way to make it into a panel

An error occurred while saving the comment Again, I repeat, put them at least where two existing indicators are., or even higher, where workspace dropdown is.

An error occurred while saving the comment Pierre, what version of Ai are you using?
Can you share the file with the team, along with the images of the expected look of it?
In Preferences, do you have 'Save in Background' option enabled in File Handling section? Does the behavior differ if you disable it? -

Dave, do you have problems using the very same prompt at the Firefly site? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Whenever I enable any Pressure option for any of three parameters (even when the variation value is 0) for the Blob Brush tool, I notice the simplification seemingly doesn’t get applied to the result...
And I don’t use a tablet pen, just a mouse at the moment.
Can you confirm this?
However, it doesn’t explain the problem with the variable width profile and the pathfinder (I’d like to get a test file with the original shapes and then processed to see the difference).
Just in case — can you backup your Preferences, reset them, and compare the behaviors? An error occurred while saving the comment The second one is a stroke with the variable width profile 2 applied, correct? This is not all what I get when trying to expand it in Ai 2026 30.0... Same deal with using the Blob brush...
What are the same settings you used for both the Blob Brush strokes? Can you share a screenshot, please?
At some point Adobe inserted a hidden simplification treatment before expanding variable strokes... it resulted in a slower speed, killing off the paired anchors, general smudginess... I raised it up several times, but it was not addressed.
It seems like in your case this hidden simplification step just never happens. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Yep. Not only PNGs, but other formats as well.
Photoshop can estimate a JPEG’s size before we save it. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Paul, just recently Illustrator started to roll out the artboard background color feature, requested here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/31386253
If you assign one for the artboard with your artwork, it should get baked into the thumbnail. Would it work for you?
I don’t think there could be a reliable model to make thumbnail differ from the content, only for white logos... I’d be worried why these differ :) -

Illustrator today allows to set this mode as a default behavior with the Select Objects only within Marquee option, in Preferences > Selection & Anchor Display.
An error occurred while saving the comment No, Ken, we can still trigger this mode on the fly by tapping E key once after the marquee is started. The cursor changes, displaying square brackets underneath. Tapping E the second time while dragging disables it back. But tapping E is required each time you make a marquee — unless this permanent option is enabled.
There are two things that bother me (OK, more):
1. Once the permanent option is enabled, E should work the other way — temporarily disable the Enclosed mode... doesn’t happen
2. In one of Beta builds there was a way to assign a different key to toggle the mode on the fly, and now it’s gone. So far it’s unclear whySmaller things:
3. The cursor shifts 1 px down+right when Enclosed mode becomes active (for me, at 100% UI+OS scale) — reported here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/939477/suggestions/48775478
4. The scope is broken with it, and it still requires Group Selection while isolated in a group — reported here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/50688266An error occurred while saving the comment @e.k. kuzey,
at the moment Ai doesn’t have a mechanism to set hotkeys for items in panel’s menu and dialogs.
It is planned, AFAIK. The main request about this is here — http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/31609237

An error occurred while saving the comment To calculate the hit area of the text, Illustrator uses its 'em-box'.
It’s rectangular container that fits each glyph, including ascenders and descenders (that is tails and necks of various 'g' and 'f'), and all the capitals and digits.
This helps to not accidentally select stuff behind the text while accidentally clicking in the middle of something like 'O' or between letters. But the method has caveats.
For some fonts these are quite huge. Even when a glyph doesn’t have anything protruding (like 'a' or 's'), it still has a box like other ones.
The larger the text gets, the larger these blind spots become. So far there is not a solution to auto-shrink the hit area to each glyph’s bounds.
The workaround though exists: enable 'Type Object Selection by Path Only' in Preferences > Type.
Not the same thing at all, but a method still. -

An error occurred while saving the comment I tested the shared 8904_250-f02-fbl-Charges.ai file, and this it what it does for me in both GA 30.0 and Beta 30.1.89, on Windows 10.
With both Appearance options checked for Eyedropper, it picks and applies the individual character’s fill of the grayish source text to all the currently green characters of the target type object...
Are you sure you have the exact same tool’s settings?
Ah, I see.
To actually rename, we need to open the Swatches panel’s menu and locate Swatch Group Option command, with the only option. Hardly convenient and consistent with renaming a swatch.
