Poor support for copies made with <use> syntax when importing SVGs
Adobe Illustrator has a well-known, long-standing bug when importing SVG files.
In the SVG code, to reduce file size, I originally used a syntax called <use> (array copy) to generate the 91 vents, fan screw holes, and 36 gear teeth. However, Illustrator has very poor support for this "copy syntax," causing it to "lose" all of these elements during reading, resulting in an empty panel and bare circles.

Would you minds sharing a test file that gets imported poorly, please?
UserVoice has problems with allowing SVGs to be attached, to rename it to .txt
Just to be sure, send it, please, also to sharewithai@adobe.com — and mention this report’s link for tracking, https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/51787566
Thanks for raising this up!
