An error occurred while saving the comment Mike, at least it forced you to speak up, unlike the previous 'need more info' status change — thanks! :)
Can you share a test file that works like this for you, along with your current computer’s specs?
To avoid sharing it publicly, you can package and send it via email, sharewithai@adobe.com (mention the report link, so they can track it back here faster: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/34005874)
Having a short video of you trying to use Backspace would help the team to verify if they successfully fail the same way at their side.I personally notice Backspace is lagging when dealing with large amount of text, especially when any appearance applied to it, but never beyond the 'intolerable' state. So please share what you have to help getting this fixed.

Claimed to be fixed in Beta 30.4.0.187 — please update and check if the problem is gone.
An error occurred while saving the comment Wow this is bizzare! What are these? How do you trigger them?
Please share more: OS and GPU details (I assume these might look differently in CPU Preview?), a test file (if it requires a specific object configuration), a screenshot of all related options chosen in Preferences, a video...
I try to make it happen based on the description and the image alone and it won’t happen for me. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Andrea, which one do you mean? Can you share a screenshot, or better a small video or a GIF to show how exactly it misbehaves for you?

An error occurred while saving the comment Not sure I can replicate this today. Pasting a plain text, replacing the second line (made with either a hard or a soft break), with or without formatting (Cmd/Ctrl+V or Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+V), doesn’t seem to grab the formatting of the line above...
Henry, can you please recheck this in a latest version? -

An error occurred while saving the comment As for the main issue — can you please share something, like a screenshot and a test file? Hard to check anything based on the description only.
An error occurred while saving the comment @CSievers, the wrong label was reported here separately: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/45711817
I added you as a voter there. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Can you recreate it from scratch in a new document, with any font?
Can you please share a test file and the screenshot? -

This problem is reportedly fixed in the latest Beta Build 30.5.0.18. You can update and test if it’s truly gone.
However, please not there are some known issues with this particular build:
- Opening recent files from Home Screen Recent section is not working (opening recent files from File > Open Recent Files works fine).
- Generative Expand does not open its own HUD when used after Generate Vector, Generative Shape Fill, or Sketch to Vector. Instead, the previous tool's HUD is displayed and Generative Expand remains inaccessible. Workaround: Ungroup the generative content first, then apply Generative Expand.
- Half of Astute Graphics plugins can’t get loaded. Both teams are now aware of the problem.
An error occurred while saving the comment I bet so... it looks familiar, I think I spotted another report like this... but in case it’s still a document-realted problem, please share your file, along with the font file used (if possible).
An error occurred while saving the comment Can’t reproduce this in 30.1 on Windows.
I use very similar settings (and I assume Round Corners is an effect applied to the rectangle, correct?), but it looks as expected...
Please take a look at the document and the screenshot attached. Does it look the same when you open it in your Ai?
Can you share your file, if this only happens within it? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Were you using a local or a cloud document, Jorgos? Were you given a message on Ai launch to restore a document (like this one attached)?
Here’s the instruction on how to access the recovery data: https://helpx.adobe.com/de/illustrator/desktop/troubleshoot/application-crash-issues/recover-illustrator-files-after-crash.html -

Expected to be fixed in the latest 30.8.0.7 Beta build. Please update and check if it now behaves as it should.
An error occurred while saving the comment Can you please mention the super-full specs of your OS, the GPU, the driver version for it? The team night need this to try to reproduce it in-house.
An error occurred while saving the comment Flavio, just to be sure — does actually closing other document, as the message offers, helps with opening this particular document? Does it happen with this one only? With that many documents opened?
Can you also share full specs of your machine? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Ai should have asked to to restore the unsaved files when relaunched, something like this screenshot attached demonstrates.
Did you get it after relaunching Ai? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Another report from Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/AdobeIllustrator/comments/1r97wbj/why_is_my_imagine_project_getting_twisted_when/
I extracted the problem into a file and recorded a GIF.
See how having the Outside stroke magically makes the fill (that seemingly has no connection to anything with Offset) becomes skewed in this tiny rectangle. An error occurred while saving the comment A related bug report:
Precision is broken for small strokes with Inside / Outside alignment enabled
http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/38693098An error occurred while saving the comment Both Inside and Outside modes for stroke generate dynamic hidden compound paths using Offset algorithm, which fails at extra small values.
This is clearly a bug!
Another report, about Offset specifically, exists: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/39425959
Would you mind me merging these two, since the nature of the problem is the same?An error occurred while saving the comment Missing files

An error occurred while saving the comment I tried to save a new document using this wonderful name, and was able to load it back just fine... a test folder is buried deep enough to have the full path name be as long as yours (probably). Strange.
A workaround is quite simple indeed, but... a bug is still a bug :)
Sorry for necroposting! An error occurred while saving the comment Dwight, how long do you mean, really? I tried several times, reached 120, had no problems...
Can you reproduce it today? If yes — please tell a bit more. Where do you save it, what is the name, etc. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Did it start happening after updating to the latest version?
To investigate this, the team would need to have the original document (along with the fonts used, if possible), collected with File > Package, and a screenshot the settings (or the PDF Preset file) used to generate the final file.
It might not indeed be safe to publish things like this here, so you might send it over to sharewithai@adobe.com (with a link to this report mentioned, http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/51027043) -

Layers panel has a dedicated button at the bottom, with the magnifying glass — it’s the same Locate Object command. But if you want Ai to automatically select it for you, please upvote this request.

An error occurred while saving the comment Do you still have the problem?
If yes — can you please elaborate? How large your documents are? Are you using Large Canvas mode? What format are you using, how do you print?
I agree, the mode is not telegraphed that well, compared to Isolation mode... Ai displays 'Opacity Mask' (even as (<Opacity Mask>/Opacity Mask) ) in the document’s tab, but it’s not enough.
I suppose you know we can Opt/Alt the mask in the panel to toggle the current view between 'normal' and 'opacity' world, same as in Ps? It won’t mark it better, but at least it’d help to see what you are doing inside of it.
