Please provide settings used for saving the document and the document itself
An error occurred while saving the comment Interesting! If the same .ai file behaves differently in different InDesign builds, that might be the case...
I’d suggest posting this into the InDesign’s UserVoice: https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601180-adobe-indesign-bugs
Please mention the link to that new report there, to cross-link these: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/49942872An error occurred while saving the comment Can’t replicate, the background stays transparent in import into .indd
Please share the a screenshot of settings used to save the .ai doc and the file itself. -

Today Illustrator has Swatches Info — it allows most of the things requested here with the ability to have the chosen swatches to be placed on canvas as text, using chosen models.
But perhaps there are other things not covered by Swatches Info? Please share your opinion in comments, so the team can plan further development.
An error occurred while saving the comment Matt, oh, I see what you mean and I am able to replicate this! Good catch!
If one creates a document based on a Print profile but change the Color Mode to RGB (and Ai would show a fair warning when they do, 'Panel content may not match the new color mode'), than creating a Swatch Info would fairly show the name of the swatch... which is hardly fair at all.Swatch Names now don’t match the color values, because the original CMYK values (with the predefined names because on the original values) get converted to RGB, and then these converted values get converted back to CMYK to be displayed in the description.
The conversion happens with the chosen color profile and some discrepancies happen.
In my case
50-0-100-0 doesn’t change, but
75-0-100-0 goes 75-0-99-0, and
85-10-100-0 becomes whopping 85-17-100-3, and
90-30-95-30 changes into 90-33-96-26.Well, one should avoid double conversion :) Do not change the color mode if you don’t mean to throw away all presets (this includes [Default Graphics Style] — because in this document pressing D would give you shallow black — in my case RGB 29-29-27, converted from CMYK 0-0-0-100).
An error occurred while saving the comment Matt, this is even more odd... (sorry for the long reply, your comment landed into spam for some reason).
When I create an RGB document, the captions with names (top lines) say the RGB name... not CMYK...
The RGB values in my file differ from yours... and while CMYK numbers in an RGB doc are easily explained by different color settings (I use Europe General Purpose 3), I’m not sure why RGB values differ.
Can you run this test again an an RGB doc (what document profile do you use when making one?) and share the test file here?An error occurred while saving the comment Matt, this is odd! These are indeed get rounded to 5 at your screenshots! But when I try to reproduce it, it behaves fine for me, the names are correct (well, rounded to ones).
Can you help me to find what differs? It should not be like this.An error occurred while saving the comment Yes, Anne, it seems like UserVoice treats links without protocol clearly stated as local ones :) Added 'https://'; and now it should work.
Thanks for mentioning it! -

An error occurred while saving the comment Not sure I understand.
Do you mean that when you try to make a single click, Illustrator makes a double-click instead?
What does 'overrides the whole operating system' mean then? Please elaborate. -

Shape’s width and height differ from path's width and height, as explained in comments.
To deal with the second half of the problem, vote for this request to make Offset Path to respect the original position and the direction of a path.
An error occurred while saving the comment There is an actual request to make Offset Path respect the original position and the direction of a path:
http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/48230837
Please upvote it if you want this as an option! An error occurred while saving the comment Renny, there is an actual explanation.
Let me show.1. Grab the Rectangle tool
2. Draw a narrow horizontal rectangle, starting from top left angle
3. Open Stroke panel and assign endpoint arrowhead
As you can see, the last (and the first point) of the rectangle is the point where you release the cursor4. Now make a copy of this rectangle and rotate it 90°
Check both, comparing their parameters in Transform panel — to see both the Width/Height AND Rectangle Width/Height — since these are two different things. The path’s width and height are just X and Y lengths. The shape’s width and height depend on the rotation of the path relative to its starting point. That’s why we can select both copies of you rectangle and change their 'rectangle widths' at the same time — that’s why we have live shapes in the first place! You can rotate a rectangle to an arbitrary angle, and Ai will still allow you to change the rectangle’s dimensions... while the path’s width and height would become recalculated according to the rotation value.5. Now select both and apply Object > Path > Offset Path.
Do you notice anything strange?
Even thought the starting points differed for both paths/shapes, the new ones Ai assigns are the leftmost-and-bottommost ones — despite the original position of starting points.
But since it makes an offset path of a rectangle into a rectangle (makes sense), it leads to 'swapping' you observe. In other words — if you lay down, you height won’t change, right? :)

An error occurred while saving the comment Syaiful, please share the document you are trying to import the image into, the actual image, a screenshot of the Color Settings used. You can do this in a comment, or send these to sharewithai@adobe.com (in this case mention the link to this report for tracking: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/49948401)

An error occurred while saving the comment Yep, can replicate this! Very odd! If I deselect a path before clicking, nothing weird happens. Happens only with corner points.
An error occurred while saving the comment Brendan, can you please put these two paths into a separate file, check if the behavior works there as well, and share this test file here in comments.
The GIF happened to be rather tiny... and I still can’t reproduce it (BTW, I use LICEcap to record GIFs: www.cockos.com/licecap/ — cross-platform, lightweight, records mouse clicks, allows to set decent FPS value) -

An error occurred while saving the comment @David, I love this 'lack of training' guess. Indeed, ignorance is our worst enemy. I don’t think I knew about the roots for tables in InD... quick search reveals that there were TableStyles and CellStyles plugins for InDesign CS. According to CreativePro, in 2007 they sold it to Adobe, and were selling separate plugins for CS and CS2...
And I agree some basic functions (basic for those who often use tables) are missing. Even with an army of plugins and scripts.
In Ai though we have to mimic tables with threaded text, columns... and again, a ton of scripts. An error occurred while saving the comment The request about improving InDesign tables: https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601021-adobe-indesign-feature-requests/suggestions/36715969-better-table-control-features
The link to forums shared there is dead, use this one instead: https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign-discussions/suggestion-complete-overhaul-to-tables-in-indesign/td-p/10379487
An error occurred while saving the comment There is a great script that allows to create table from CSV files, but it’s a workaround (a handy one).

An error occurred while saving the comment Alejandro, judging by screenshots, you have an additional fill applied to your texts on object level, and it covers the individual fills for the character.
Please open the Appearance panel and see if the selected text object have a fill. If it does — click Clear Appearance small button at the bottom of the Appearance panel.
It probably happens because your Eyedropper tool’s settings are set to sample and apply appearance — check the options by either double-clicking the tool’s icon in the toolbar or pressing Enter with the tool picked (you have to not be in the the text editing mode). If you have both 'Appearance' options checked, this is most probably the source of your confusion. I suggest using these only with Appearance panel opened, to control what is sampled and applied. This can be tough to master, but can be quite useful once you do.
If it’s not the case at all, and something else is happening — please share more, and share the text file these text objects in it (you can remove everything else). -

An error occurred while saving the comment Tim, do you get Crash Reporter dialogs shown to you when this happens? Do you send these? If yes — do you use the same email in these, as the one you have set for this UV account?

An error occurred while saving the comment This is odd!
Contextual Task Bar, when I check, doesn’t have a slot in Keyboard Shortcuts dialog, and I can’t assign anything to call it (I made it into a bug report: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/49930875)...I understand it’s late, and you won’t check it, but did you see the actual hotkey listed next to the name of the command in Window menu? or did you see Paste in Front missing one, both in the Edit menu and the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog? Were you able to reassign anything?

An error occurred while saving the comment Jan, do you mean the '...Adobe Illustrator (Beta)\Cool Extras\[locale]\Templates\' folder?
Do you mean File > Save as Template?Or do you mean 'Save Document Preset' button in the modern New Document dialog? ( I hope not)
Strangely enough, I don’t get asked for any extra privileges when saving a template there... one the other hand, I prefer saving these using just Save, choosing the .ait format from the dropdown and choosing my own folder... Back when I used a ton of these, I was using symbolic links to map my custom folder to that one within 'Cool Extras', to be able to use 'New from Template' hotkey. Perhaps it can be a workaround for you as well.
I wonder if having a way to define the location of the folder somewhere in Preferences seems like a solution for you?
Or would you prefer just some standart location, perhaps in AppData or even Documents? Please elaborate on this and the restrictions you have with the current folder’s location. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Photoshop has a separate option in Preferences > Type, 'Use ESC key to commit text'.
I don’t mind to have the same one for Ai, along with 'Use Numpad Enter key to commit text'.
This way each user could customize the behavior to match their background...Consistency is a hard thing to do. These apps (and you dropped InDesign!) are deceptively similar, but differ a ton, and muscle memory for users that come from different fields is strong. These would never match, but definitely options like this one must exist.
An error occurred while saving the comment Also relates (this times a lot) to this one, already closed:

An error occurred while saving the comment Interesting. I wonder when you get the habit to try to use Numpad Enter for this? Is this a common way to do it somewhere else?
Technically both Escape and Cmd/Ctrl+Enter commit typing in Ai, so if you just want a key to stop typing, this can be used... but if it’s a habit... well, you are on Windows, so Autohotkey can be a workaround method, even though setting it up to respect the type mode takes a lot of effort.
And actually Escape, when I recheck it, is rather slow to stop editing text! Is it for you, Seb?

The problem is not fixed. As reported, the latest Beta build 28.5.26 resets preferences again. Please comment if you confirm this.
An error occurred while saving the comment It held these for me the last time I upgraded Beta... But it’s still 29.6, only the build number changes (156 currently).
As far as I recall, these were dropped between minor updates, like 28.3 to 28.4... so I can’t tell for sure myself, and I haven’t heard about any news.An error occurred while saving the comment Eric, you are referring to Beta, don’t you?
This sucks.
This happens every minor update, when it gets updated from, say, 28.3 to 28.4.
For some reason Ai does not transfer them automatically form a folder to folder and build Preferences anew.
All you files though are save, here:
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator 28.3.0 Beta Settings\[locale]\x64\
put in different folders there, or directly in the root.
And you can restore them, putting in 28.4’s foldersIT DOES NOT MAKE IT LESS PAINFUL!
An error occurred while saving the comment There is a similar bug that affect ordinary versions of Illustrator, when updating leads to resetting preferences:

The fix is expected to land in the next Beta build. These messages should and hopefully will be displayed once only.
An error occurred while saving the comment Yep, I am seeing these too, in Beta: About Paste on multiple artboards, about sharing thoughts on Dimension tool, about Instant Save, about Pantones, about ungrouping... I’m fine with Pantone one only, since it’s useful (I don’t like the whole Pantone situation in general though, but it’s another topic).
Marc, do you get that one EVERY time you ungroup?
