An error occurred while saving the comment Meanwhile, I can offer a workaround.
Instead of placing the PDF, try to open it. Illustrator would offer to choose pages, and if you keep the 'Import DF pages as links for optimal performance' option checked, you’ll get these pages linked, to move them into the actual document you needed them within.
But sure I agree that the Import Options dialog on Place should just allow this too.An error occurred while saving the comment Anthony, can you record this behavior on video, so that a team can reproduce it at their side, please? A test PDF would be nice to have as well.
An error occurred while saving the comment Well, so far we can import the range of PDF’s pages into a new document, as linked or embedded objects, and then drag-n-drop them into the document we want them to be placed in.

When I try to place your "bleed_test2.ai", I can see the improper scaling of the displayed content, like you showed in the screenshot... but if I try to recreate this from scratch or resave your file in my 30.1 version on Windows 10, it starts behaving as expected when placed.
Here’s the resaved file and the screenshot of the settings I use when resaved it.
What settings do you use?An error occurred while saving the comment Not sure I can replicate it. What options (when enabling 'Show Import Options' option in Place dialog) do you set when placing a file with a bleed set (.ai with 'Crete PDF Compatible File' enabled, I presume?) into an .indd doc? Crop to what? All variants but Art and Trim should include the bleed set. When I try (with any of others), the .ai file created with 30.1 placed into InD 2026 is not shifted like you show...
Please check the attached files and the screenshots attached. Does it behave differently?
Does it happen with any file (including one created anew) or only a particular one? -

An error occurred while saving the comment It should come with a Clean Up Clipping Mask command, with options, to remove the invisible content: by geometric / visible bounds, and if should it remove individual objects or any children of any nested group.

The fix has been pushed into the latest 30.3 general release. Please update, check, and comment back if it still happens.
An error occurred while saving the comment Yes, I confirm. More of it — if I hit Undo, the names do get changed back in the panel, but not on canvas.

It’s hardly a universal solution, sure, but perhaps for some users it’d be helpful. to at least know about.An error occurred while saving the comment I agree, and can only add that all the bevels Xara creates are raster-based. Once expanded (ungrouped in Xara), an object with embossing becomes a clipped bitmap. The modern 3D effect in Ai is not vector too, really, but I’d surely prefer the built shading to be vector.
An error occurred while saving the comment Xara again :) We can achieve somewhat similar results with 3D effects in Ai... but not the full range offered by that app. I can’t say need these bevels often, but I think I’d use them if I had the access to them.

If you need a more precise approach... a native way to do it is a combination of Scale operation followed by Transform Each operation, to compensate the scaling back. Requires some calculation.Rotation though... I’d really love to see some examples of the application you have in mind, to follow the idea.

An error occurred while saving the comment You should see if this is an Outline mode in the document’s tab... Also View > Outline / Preview command changes.
I remember it failing though with complex documents and disabling Preview. Can you tell a bit more about your configuration? How complex was your document? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Yep. Xara’s feathering was developed more than 20 years ago and I could never tell if this is a raster effect... It stays smooth at high zoom levels (no pixelation) and is super fast...

An error occurred while saving the comment I have a working although a bit tedious way to number an existing set of artboards. They won’t update themselves, as one can expect from auto-numbers, but it’s simple enough to repeat, if all numbers have the same appearance.
1. Create a '1' text and place it in a position you want your numbers to occupy on the first artboard.
2. Group it and isolate the selection. Now you have your text in isolation mode and nothing else would be selected in next steps.
3. Select All and Ungroup it. Now that temporary group used to be able to isolate a text object is gone.
4. Cut the text
5. Press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+V (Windows) or Edit > Paste on All Artboards. Now we have 1-s at every artboard.
6. Select all
7. Run the attached script (rename it from .txt to .jsx). It takes the first text object in the selection and increment the next one by 1 for the whole range.
Now you have all your artboards numbered. You can now group the objects to easily access them later.
It can be automated with an action. A workaround, but a working one!

This issue is reportedly fixed in the latest Beta 30.3.126 build.
Kindly update (or install) to verify the fix making it behave as expected, to allow the team to safely push it into the next general build.
