An error occurred while saving the comment Still can’t reproduce it.
No objects in the doc seem to have any notes, there is no green spot one can marquee over, marqueeing seems normal to me.
Perhaps this should better recorded on video, if it’s still a problem. An error occurred while saving the comment Can you share the file and the video of how it works for you?
If the information is private, please email them at sharewithai@adobe.com
Without the steps to reproduce the issue and the file there are literally no chances to catch the issue. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Another solution would be to use InkQuest plugin: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQfrEpXhEgY
I can imagine it’s expensive to add something like this, but the Eyedropper + Info modification seems much more realistic... -

An error occurred while saving the comment Hey, look, you made a report like this one yourself once:
http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/36014830An error occurred while saving the comment 1. A request to be able to just click to select a tool in the Edit Toolbar 'drawer' exists:
Allow to pick tool from Customize Toolbar for temp use
http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/41324953
It works, actually, but the tool gets picked only AFTER you close the 'drawer' — this can be done better.2. Why not make the icons draggable instantly?
This is exactly how it was made at the start, and it became a MESS. Users accidentally moved their tool icons without noticing it, hiding them in existing tool groups and blindly creating new ones. UV is still full of 'Where is my Scissors' and 'Why is my Selection in grouped with Magic Wand' yells — I find them regularly and close. So the team decide to make it a mode and give access to lock tools.Perhaps C4D suffers from it as well, but we both know nothing about it. Here, at UV, this becomes visible.
You ight want to be interested in this request as well:
Lock palettes or allow to undo UI changes
http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/33034954An error occurred while saving the comment Ai team seems to prefer not overcrowding the room, unless a user decides to do it manually.
They made the Edit Toolbar drawer we can open with three dots at the bottom of a tool panel, but it can’t be locked to not collapse and it doesn’t conform the screen size or get a scrollbar.
And collecting all the tools manually by drag-n-drop into a custom tool panel is hardly a viable solution, right? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Mark, can you check if it works for you in the latest Illustrator version?
Open the Edit Toolbar menu, click on a tool you don’t have in the panel, and then close the menu — the tool should be active now.An error occurred while saving the comment Oh, I like this one. I’m not sure if it should be picked at a single or double click though.

An error occurred while saving the comment Philipp, yeah... it crashed 8 times for me in just two days.
Saving a file, cutting a path, using a plugin...
Do you send the crash reports though? Do you get crash reporter dialog appear at all? -

An error occurred while saving the comment You’d have to show these privately to the team then.
Please send these to sahrewithai@adobe.com, and put the link to this report in the email’s text (http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/48775607), along with full specs on the images in question and the PDF preset used.
Thank you!An error occurred while saving the comment Please share some screenshots of this grainy/rough look.
Does it apply only to images within the exported PDF, or vector art as well?
Does a PDF look OK if you try to view it in Acrobat or any other PDF viewer? -

An error occurred while saving the comment I found another user who can replicate this, on Mac.
They say if you keep the marquee held, and then try to press Cmd/Ctrl + Opt/Alt once again (while still holding the marquee), it suddenly works.
Can you confirm this?An error occurred while saving the comment Can you share the test file, just in case? Maybe it’s file specific?
An error occurred while saving the comment Can’t confirm this.
If I hold Ctrl+Alt to temporarily switch my Selection Tool into Group Selection Tool, hitting E once while dragging properly enables the enclosed mode and objects within a marquee get selected as expected... applies both to paths and text objects.
Let’s try to figure out what else can influence this... -

Please accept my sincere apology for the inconvenience. Please get in touch with us at any of the other support channels – https://helpx.adobe.com/support.html . Since this is not a generic issue that we can reproduce at our end, we will need someone to look into your machine to figure out what is going on here.
Thanks & Regards,

Can you share a screenshot of it? Tough to investigate a problem with UI without seeing it!
Thorge, Ai does have Lasso tool.
It’s actually 'Direct Selection Lasso tool', and it will select portions of the object, but this can be converted into a full selection, using double Select > Inverse trick (works better when you assign it to a hotkey).
At some point Illustrator had a dedicated 'Full Object Selection Lasso', and there is a separate request for that: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/44462988
Is it what you have in mind? If yes, do you mind me merging your request into it?
If no — can you elaborate on you request?
