An error occurred while saving the comment Rhiannon, when saving a document in Beta, there should be a new option, 'Embed compatible font glyphs' in the Illustrator Options dialog, that forces Ai to 'bake' previews for the fonts used, so a file can be opened without having the fonts installed (but not edited). It feels like something went wrong with it. Can you try to disable it while saving and see if it changes anything?
Also — please share the details about the font used. If possible, share the test file here in comments. If you are not comfortable with sharing it publicly, please send it to sharewithai@adobe.com, and put the link to this report, so the team can track it back here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/49227515
The team is actively testing it, so this would help to fix it before it goes into the main release. Thank you! -

An error occurred while saving the comment Jan, I test it and I see Ai can snap to the points of the objects within a symbol just fine.
What do you mean then? Perhaps the markers/handles of a the bounding box? Can you clarify please? -

An error occurred while saving the comment How do you expect to get these laid out in the resulting .ai document? What would happen to the objects that are not included in any artboard but are just outside of any, on the canvas? What about those that span across several artboards?

An error occurred while saving the comment Yep, the fact Ai can’t place files in it’s own format is just stupid.
It’s like we were not able to use smarts in Photoshop (although I believe it is based on having a flatten copy displayed instead of the full stack) or pre-compose in AfterEffects. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Feels related to this problem:
Resizing from centre - Pen tablet sticking
http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/44502621An error occurred while saving the comment I recall seeing at least one similar message, but can’t find a report on this and not sure if I had it myself.
Can you share the details about your tablet and the driver version, just in case? -

An error occurred while saving the comment @rcraighead, I can’t reproduce this problem with the latest release. Scale tool stays picked for me when I release the mouse key while using ~.
Can you please confirm or refute this? -

An error occurred while saving the comment It seems like it’s no longer a problem. Jan, can you check it?

Please accept my sincere apology for the inconvenience. Please get in touch with us at any of the other support channels – https://helpx.adobe.com/support.html . Since this is not a generic issue that we can reproduce at our end, we will need someone to look into your machine to figure out what is going on here.
An error occurred while saving the comment Jan, do you still have this problem? It seems like it does no happen anymore, at least for me with the latest releases.
Can you please check this? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Strangely, the bounding box (that I believe is meant) stays shown when anything else other than a live shape is selected, but vanishes for live rectangles, ellipses... A guide would still snap to a center point these have enabled by default, and does not really snap to the middle markers of the bounding box (at least now and for me).... Older versions (pre-CC) never snapped to these as well.

An error occurred while saving the comment I found it tool late, but I can’t understand what was the 'new Scale tool' we got in 2020... The Scale tool never changed since then... perhaps you mean the bounding box? or the smart guides affecting the scale?
If you still have the issue (and your laptop is still safe!) — can you share a video of it, just to clarify it and share the pain? :( -

An error occurred while saving the comment Manuel, do you still have this problem? If yes — do you use a pen and a tablet, or a mouse, or maybe touchpad?

I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 25.1 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

An error occurred while saving the comment Justin, does Photoshop or InDesign or other Adobe apps you have access to behave the same? What about non-Adobe apps?

If this is something that is still happening for you, please share a test file you can reproduce this problem with, along with the video showing this happening for you, so that the team can try to reproduce it and investigate.
An error occurred while saving the comment Joel, I assume the actual edges of the non-selected object do not get rendered, and only the bounding box hugs it? Or there is no object at all that the bounding box hugs actually, and it’s just void (checked with Outline mode)?
When and if it happens the next time, please also check these:
1. Is the 'selected' object marked in any way in Layers panel?
2. Does resizing or rotating the bounding box affects the object? Does Undo help to drop the 'selection'?
3. How did you exit the isolation mode (Escape, breadcrumbs, double-click), and how deeply grouped is the object? An error occurred while saving the comment Mara, these two feel like different bug reports.
This one is about having a selection, but having the bounding box larger than the visible selection.
The other one you shared a link to, is more about having nothing selected, but still having a bounding box drawn.
While the reason can be the same, no comment prove it :(
The problem with both is that they happen randomly and no steps exist to reproduce them. How often does it happen for you, and which of two it is?
The team can try to make a setup to try and catch it, if it happens often enough at your side.I haven’t seen it in years (which is both good and bad)...
An error occurred while saving the comment Skyla, it’d help immensely if you were able to find exact steps to reproduce it with the art you have. And please keep the fil, in case it never happens again.
An error occurred while saving the comment Regina, so far I can’t reproduce the issue. How permanent this behavior is for you?
Can you share the file that always work like this for you? Make sure that you have only the part that causes the problem. An error occurred while saving the comment This is extremely annoying, especially for me, who don't use bounding box and therefore can't see when something else gets selected until I try to transform selection. I have to watch dimensions carefully and undo a lot sometimes.

An error occurred while saving the comment Yep, seeing it, thanks. Maps and schemes, got it, very familiar to me. And I’m aware of the baseline shift trick, and the fact it needs some tracking compensation with high shift values or just for curves, as you said.
Astute Graphics, BTW, has a nice tool to quickly rotate a dragged object at a collision with a path, using its tangent. Works for curves as well, but the text is kept straight. Allows to set a spacing. Great for quickly signing straight lines — look at the GIF attached. Too late, I know :)
They Reform Text is a nifty solution too. although I’d love to have some additional features for it.And perhaps if you sign stuff a lot, you’d love to upvote these requests as well?
1. Convert a Type on Path object to a Point Type text and a normal Path (Detach / Release Text from Path) — https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/42886527
2. Allow to combine/merge selected text and path to Type on Path — https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/44049999An error occurred while saving the comment Mike, whatever suits you and your workflows best. There are so many things people use Illustrator for...
I use all of these regularly, and the way native Offset Path works with open paths serves me as much as the AG one.
Can you please share some of the cases you need this option for? Just curious. I record small GIFs with LICEcap app (works great on both Mac and Windows): https://www.cockos.com/licecap/An error occurred while saving the comment Agree with having it form the box, upvoted...
...but you should try to learn what other thing Astute Graphics plugin offer. You a sitting in shop full of amazing tools and use only one hammer of it. A waste indeed :)Plus you should take a look at the Toolshed plugin: https://rj-graffix.com/product/toolshed/
It has a similar interactive tool, it’s cheaper, it’s one-time purchase. Perhaps it’d suit your needs better.
Again — Ai would indeed benefit form having a second effect. But it can benefit form all of these things other developers add. And, as you state, not all the users need all the things devs add...

Hmm, I have no problem making a dimension of the angle between two open intersecting paths... Here, watch the GIF I recorded (I use LICEcap for these). Does it behave differently for you? Can you share how exactly?
