The Beta 28.4.0.7 now create live dimension objects, that track and follow the changes to the measured objects: resizing, rotating, moving...
As for now, moving only dimension breaks the link and expands the dimension (hopefully will change, and break the link only).
Moving an object with its related dimension currently expand the dimension as well (hopefully won’t do it either).
Please test the change and share feedback — it helps a lot!

Hi Everyone,
We have fixed this bug in our latest release – v 28.2.0 which is available worldwide now. Thanks for your patience on this.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html

An error occurred while saving the comment I see. Trying to extrude it in Ai 28.1 takes more than 3 minutes for me, at it’s safe to assume it won’t finish. The artwork though has a ton of fine details, results in a VERY complex mesh...
However, trying to do the same in 27.9, it takes Illustrator ONE second for me to get a result.
Beta fails at rendering anything as well. So something clearly has gone awry... Thanks for the report! An error occurred while saving the comment Hmm. It looks extruded fine for me in the PDF just viewed or imported in Ai... All details are in place, as far as I can see.
Can you please show exactly which parts you can spot in the flat version, but no in the 3D coin? Some screenshots will suffice. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Strange. Checked this on Windows 10 with the latest and Beta builds, works for me...
Perhaps some other application steals this particular hotkey for Illustrator? That’s sometimes a case (Skype infamously stealing Ctrl+Alt+Shift+D from Transform Each, for example).
Have you tried other hotkeys? Also, to see if this is an Actions’ bug or not, test this, please:
1. Remove the assigned hotkey from the action
2. Open Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts, pick Menu Commands instead of Tools
3. Assign Ctrl + F5 to some command you can check, like Edit > Cut or Clear, temporarily
4. See if it works as a command
If it does not — then it’s probably a stolen key’s case. If it does — then something is haywire with actions. An error occurred while saving the comment Jim, default actions do not have hotkeys assigned by default, don’t they?
So you mean you try to assign some, and they fail? Which one do you try to assign to which exactly? Is it true for all possible F-keys, for all the actions?
It works fine for me in the latest Beta build. Which one do you try it with? -

An error occurred while saving the comment At the moment we have a bunch of scripts community had to write to cover this gap... we have to install a script into the folder and then record a one-command action to call for the script, which is absurd, since an action with only one command within is just a band-aid.
My favorite one is this:
https://github.com/creold/illustrator-scripts/blob/master/md/Item.md#renameitems
It can do something more — rename layers and objects, and allows to replace as well.AdminEgor Chistyakov (Admin, Adobe Illustrator) supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Yes, we need that.
Meanwhile you can assign a shortcut to this script: https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=ru&tl=en&u=ais.sergosokin.ru/item/renameitems/ -

An error occurred while saving the comment Speaking of capitalizing text, one can assign a custom hotkey to it with Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts (I did that).
Another thing is that InDesign’s default hotkey for that (Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + K) in Illustrator opens Color Settings dialog, and a LOT of users will get upset if this default hotkey they’ve been using for many years will change just to conform another application. Adobe had made mistakes like these before and they never welcomed when it comes to professionals. There are methods to deal with it though.
1. Learn. Usually the mind is capable to switch between modalities just fine, and switch between different keyboard schemes, when dealing with them often.
2. Customize. While it’s true different apps (not only Adobe) allow different depths of the allowed customizations (and Ai’s one specifically sucks a lot), there is still a gap one can close themselves.
3. Developers offer to switch premade keyboards schemes. CorelDRAW allows to quickly toggle keys 'like in Ai', InDesign allows to quickly choose hotkeys 'like in Ai or Ps'... hey, it looks like other apps try to mimic Ai, interesting, right?
But hotkey customization is dangerous. When these break and get lost (for different reasons), it's not that convenient to restore them (especially if you forgot to backup), these don’t stick to cloud, and the default set becomes irritating more it used to before you modified it.Anyway — consistency for consistency’s sake is a trap. The apps only look similar, but they deal with different medias, formats, offer different tools, modes, and have different history. Every play with defaults leads to micro insults amongst users.
So instead of 'make them similar!' please try to point out cases that CAN’T be solve with individual customization. That is something that can be addressed by the team, unlike 'I am no familiar with the app' — which is up to the end user to master.
Finally, I can just imagine a war that can happen between users, when they start to decide WHICH app should be a master one to copy the hotkeys from. Ugh!

An error occurred while saving the comment It seems like it happens only when Ignore Color options is ticked, and stays exactly in place when this option is disabled...
Can anyone verify that please?AdminEgor Chistyakov (Admin, Adobe Illustrator) supported this idea · -

An error occurred while saving the comment It feels like antialiasing stopped working somehow... Strange!
Please try these:
1. Check if you have View > Pixel Preview disabled
2. Try to toggle CPU and GPU modes with Ctrl + E hotkey (or View > Preview on CPU / GPU Preview command)
If #1 does not help, please share the full specs for your computer setup and then try to reset Preferences (here is a nifty instruction: https://astutegraphics.com/support/tutorials-and-troubleshooting/resetting-illustrator-preferences)
Please reply back. -

It feels like it’s something MacOS is doing, actually. Users with Ventura say they have it as a short name!
Needs investigating.
SL, are you on Catalina, correct? When did you notice this?
