Adobe Illustrator's Multithreading Journey Begins!
Dear Illustrator Community,
I'm thrilled to announce that we've embarked on an exciting journey to bring multithreading capabilities to Adobe Illustrator. This significant undertaking will enhance performance and responsiveness across various aspects of the application.
While this is a complex process that will take some time to fully implement, I wanted to share our progress so far.
Our Approach
We've strategically begun by focusing on the most computationally intensive operations—those that typically take more time and block the main thread, resulting in slower response times while you work. By moving these operations to separate threads, we aim to significantly improve your overall experience with Illustrator.
It's important to note that you may see more noticeable impact in some areas than others initially. However, we want to assure you that this is just the beginning, and we will continue this journey to bring improvements across…

An error occurred while saving the comment Jeremy commentedIt seems that the dictionary is only local to the AI file? When saving a word to the dictionary, first of all it doesn't update the red squiggly unless I edit the text so it re-parses it - but furthermore, if I work on a different AI file, that word is no longer in the dictionary. Please make the dictionary global, or add a preference to make it global.

I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 27.0.0 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

An error occurred while saving the comment Jeremy commentedHow to recreate the bug:
When working on a large file (that takes some time to save), save the document (CTRL-S). While the document is in the process of saving, SHIFT-CTRL-S (Save as) a different filename. The initial save that was in progress will be canceled and only the save-as will complete.

An error occurred while saving the comment Jeremy commentedPlease add a proper block drop shadow like corel draw has. I can't believe this is still missing.

Hi Everyone,
This functionality has been shipped in June-2021 version of Illustrator.
The option "Paste without Formatting (Alt+Ctrl+V)’ has been added to the ‘Edit’ Menu.
Thanks for your feedback.
An error occurred while saving the comment Jeremy commented--> without formatting, not with formatting. Please correct the title.
An error occurred while saving the comment Jeremy commentedPlease add a way to paste text from the clipboard without any formatting. Currently, I have to paste the text into a text editor to remove formatting and then copy/paste back into Illustrator. In other programs, this command is typically CMD-SHIFT-V, it would be nice if the same command could be used in AI for this functionality.

An error occurred while saving the comment Jeremy commentedRight now, we can perform simple calculations inside numerical fields. For example, if I want to set the width of an object to 48% of 12", I can enter in: "12 * 0.48" in the field and it will evaluate the statement before applying the result to the width. This functionality saves us a ton of time since we can calculate values that we would normally be doing on a physical or digital calculator.
I would like the ability to perform more complex calculations in this way, such as: "17.5 * (2/3) + 0.25"

Wow, I can't believe in 2023 that AI is still single-core. This would make a HUGE difference when working with artworks containing a large number of objects (e.g., floor plans).
