    Hi Everyone,

All the effect checkboxes have now been set to ON by default, and are sticky (meaning that if you disable preview, on next launch of Illustrator preview will remain disabled). This functionality now is available in our latest release build – 24.1.1 for Win and 24.1 for Mac which is available worldwide now.

We are working on making all remaining preview check-boxes sticky. Will update this thread when done!

    What’s new in 24.1: https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/whats-new.html

You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html

Thank you for all the feedback.

However you last used the programme, so the functions should be retained for when you next open it, just like your workspace preferences. This, and rulers, should always be default on, not off. Can't believe how many years this feature request has been going on for...

One thing that has always baffled me - can we not have the Preview tick box option set to 'on' as default when scaling, rotating, etc.? I can't think of one instance where I haven't NOT wanted to immediately preview the actions I've selected with the tools when I open them.

Cloud? Nope. Never use it. Don't have a use for it. Glad we're not the only agency that find it pointless.

I laugh every time I need to use this feature in Illustrator (which is most days). For all Adobe's up-selling of CC re. app integration and cloud syncing, their suite is still lacking UI and tool consistency in so many areas. And yes, I feel I know you all personally after all these years!

The simplest of features, yet Adobe would rather concentrate on 3D, perspective, warp, rotation, flipping, etc. This should have been introduced years ago.

I also have this issue. I only have Illustrator open - no other Adobe products or other third-party programmes. The only adjustment I made was to save the changes to the file as 'Save As' and rename it as a 'v2'. This has been occurring since I upgraded to High Sierra. I'm working off our local server, but I've been doing that for the last 15 years.

Funny how you continuously shove the CC Library syncing down our throats but still can't get the basics right - I've seen this issue in threads going back to 2012.
