An error occurred while saving the comment Oskar commentedNow it's 2022 and we still have to use Illustrator 2019 to get anything done. This is sad.
An error occurred while saving the comment Oskar commentedThis tool still doesn't work. Have to continue using Illustrator 2019.

Adobe Illustrator's Multithreading Journey Begins!
Dear Illustrator Community,
I'm thrilled to announce that we've embarked on an exciting journey to bring multithreading capabilities to Adobe Illustrator. This significant undertaking will enhance performance and responsiveness across various aspects of the application.
While this is a complex process that will take some time to fully implement, I wanted to share our progress so far.
Our Approach
We've strategically begun by focusing on the most computationally intensive operations—those that typically take more time and block the main thread, resulting in slower response times while you work. By moving these operations to separate threads, we aim to significantly improve your overall experience with Illustrator.
It's important to note that you may see more noticeable impact in some areas than others initially. However, we want to assure you that this is just the beginning, and we will continue this journey to bring improvements across…
An error occurred while saving the comment Oskar commentedYeah, I know there have been thoughts here of what's keeping them from fixing it but it would have been a nice gesture of the team if they could at least try to explain why this isn't happening.
Or perhaps it actually is happening but it takes time? Who knows?
I would be in so much better mood if they could go out and say something like "we are working on it but it's difficult but we believe that we might have it all done in two years".
Now it's just frustrating.
An error occurred while saving the comment Oskar commentedDoes anyone know if Illustrator team has provided any feedback on this one? I mean have they presented some thoughts on why they haven't managed to fix this?
It's incredible to see the Activity Monitor showing activity in 1 out of 12 cores in my new Mac Mini when I work in Illustrator. The frustration of knowing this could be almost 12 times faster...
An error occurred while saving the comment Oskar commentedOne thing I wonder is if there will be or is already multi core support with the new M1 (and upcomngin M2?) support that they just released.
An error occurred while saving the comment Oskar commented@Nikolas, yes, they introduced a new simplify tool which is completely unusable!
An error occurred while saving the comment Oskar commentedAgree with Andy. Here we have recently got a Playstation at the office to use while waiting for Illustrator to use up one of all CPU cores. Pretty fun actually.

I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 27.3.1 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

Oskar supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Oskar commentedSince updating to Illustrator 26.5 some of my files can't be saved at all because Illustrator stalls during this progress. They need to be saved in PDF. None of my files has variable fonts or colored.
I'n using Mac.

An error occurred while saving the comment Oskar commentedHello hello, Illustrator still freezes when I use this tool, which makes it useless. I now use version 26.5... Any plans for solving this?
An error occurred while saving the comment Oskar commentedYes and it seems like the Illustrator team doesn’t care at all about this. I still have to keep a copy of Illustrator 2019 in order to be able to simplify my contour lines.

An error occurred while saving the comment Oskar commentedThis tool still doesn't work as it should. When will you fix this?
An error occurred while saving the comment Oskar commentedI'm fine if it was an option to choose which simplify tool to use. Either the new which perhaps some people like, or the old one which works much better for line objects such as contour lines in maps.
An error occurred while saving the comment Oskar commentedThe file one more time:
An error occurred while saving the comment Oskar commentedFor me a software should become faster and better for each version, not the opposite so it's incredible that the older tools are much better than the new ones.
I'm using Illustrator 2019 but with the simplify tool from Illu 2018. (it was possible to replace the new simplify tool of 2019 with 2018 tool. Not to 2020 or 2021 unfortunately)
An error occurred while saving the comment Oskar commentedI tried uploading the file here but I guess it's too big and got stalled. At least some can download and try it with this link:
