Done in version 26 (2022). You can now use Tab and Shift+Tab to cycle focus while renaming layers and artboards (but not assets yet — vote to make it happen, https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/31567951). Yay!
Please comment here if you have any issues with how it works).Anonymous supported this idea · -

An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedCould be there a reason for this kind of inconvenience, because it's difficult to understand why? Please change it to follow simple logic, allow selecting it by fill/shape, not from the edge.

An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedThis is an incredibly annoying issue, I've been waiting for some sort of solution for a long time no, but just changing the size of the anchor point size without actually increasing the clickable area is ridiculous (snap also, only works for points, not handles, why?).
Btw, MOHO animation software has solved this issue really well, it's an absolute joy to manipulate the anchor points and their tangent handles, check it out Adobe team!

An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedAlso remove selection with rectangle selection, not toggle, just drag over and gone, but it keeps selecting unselected stuff again...SO MUCH TIME WASTED ON SELECTING and it happens to be the most frequent task you do btw...should be like the first priority to make selecting as easy as possible.
If you are out of ideas about how to do it, please take a look at 3D software, all modes are available there and implemented nicely.

An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedMissing this for long-long time. Grouping is an option, but this will mess up the layers when used. A lot of times I have duplicated artboards for design iteration with similar objects and I would just like to select similar objects on one artboard, not on all of them. Just selecting the objects on one artboard and isolating would do the trick, but for some reason more than one object could not be isolated.
********** "limit to current artboard would also work, but doesn't exist for now :(

BUT...with la
Same here, GPU is lost when Outline mode is used, but for me it's per document, closing and re-opening fixes it, but it's quite unworkable to be honest.
