Starting with Beta 29.7.1 the Rearrange dialog got a separate dedicated feature, currently called 'Align Manually'.
With it disabled, artboards get positioned instantly in the center of the canvas, as it behaved previously.
When this is enabled, you will enter the positioning mode after pressing OK — to allow rearranging only some artboards, to address this request.
With more than 1 artboard selected (but not all), the mode gets enabled automatically (and becomes locked).

It's a shame that a small company with just a few people managed to create an annotation tool for Illustrator that works a million times better than the internal team's solution. CADTools has been around for quite a while and still handles scales and annotations more effectively. We need a native tool that works properly.

Being dyslexic, I have to find visual ways to help myself locate menu items, tools, colors, and more whenever possible. Dividers—whether simple lines (ideally with text) or color coding for custom toolbar tool groups—would be greatly appreciated.

The latest Illustrator release - v29.3 now offers Area Calculation using Measure Tool:
- Select the objects in your artwork you want to calculate the area for.
- Select the Measure Tool from the Toolbar.
- The calculated area will be displayed in the Info panel, shown automatically.
- Shift + Click on a segment in the existing selection to remove/add it to area calculation.
- Configure measurement options by accessing the flyout menu of the panel. You can customize units, precision, and scale to suit your requirements.
Please update to v29.3 from your Creative Cloud Desktop application and keep sharing your feedback!

I think scaling an object should apply to the entire object, including all fills. The Appearance panel already provides tools to scale fills individually.

It shouldn't include stroke width when Preview Bounds is off — or at least make it optionally toggleable.
