Unify / bring closer the contextual task bar with the simplify/smooth adjustment bar
When I chose Edit Path from the contextual task bar to smooth or simplify a path, the slider bar for the smooth menu pops up somewhere near the path not on the same contextual task bar, so on multiple actions that means a lot of mouse travel from the contextual task bar to the simplify/smooth adjustment bar.

Export Ai documents as HTML
I'm not a programmer (at all) — it would be AMAZING to be able to export a document as an HTML with attached code that we could upload into something like WordPress for websites. It would make my

Right-click on a text style to access the its definition and options
It would be a giant leap forward for Illustrator to match InDesign's UX for paragraph and character styles management.
Allow right-click on a character or paragraph style to access the style definition and options via a context menu: Edit style, Duplicate style, Delete style, Apply style, Redefine style, instead of using the panels’ menus.

Add the ability to "freeze" layers.
Once upon a time, back around 2000, there was a natural media vector program called "Expression", by a studio named Creature House. It did a lot of heavy, complex rendering, yet retained pretty speedy performance on the machines of the time. But Microsoft bought Creature House back around 2003 and ended support for it; "Expression" became a Windows-only tool with greatly limited functionality.
One of the ways it kept its performance snappy was by having an additional state for layers. Like Illustrator, they could be visible or invisible, and they could be locked or unlocked - but they could also…

Edit Colors panel - drag and drop from document swatches
In the "Edit Colors" panel, users can already select a document's color palette. However, it would be incredibly helpful to allow dragging and dropping individual colors from the document's palette directly into the active color set of an object.
Currently, users have to manually input color values (e.g., RGB), which is time-consuming. Adding a drag-and-drop feature would make this process more efficient and user-friendly, greatly improving the workflow for designers.
Thank you for considering this enhancement!

When Altering and Saving an Existing File on Your Computer, the Item's Time Stamp Should Update
Standard functionality is to update the folder details time stamp for any changes made, so it is easy to find the most recent files, etc.
Today, the file only lists its original creation date and does not update its time stamp when changes are saved.

Automatically describe sizes in units in file names when exporting
I dream of having many working areas of different sizes, and exporting them to JPG or whatever as separate working areas, that the file name would automatically include the file size depending on the size set in the working file, for example in cm, mm, px... i.e. when I export many areas, in addition to the numbering, they have the current size given in the file name

A point type frame should ignore spaces on the right, just like an area type.
Right spaces should be ignored by text align.

Direct Component Group
Is it possible to create a direct component group that performs certain functions, rather than relying on clickable line options? This way, there's no need to enter a group to select the required component.

Select > Object > Dimension
It’s quite easy to accidentally convert a live dimension object into a dead group (reported here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/47739104)
When it happens, there is no way to tell if a dimension is live or dead but to try and select it, or view in Layers, selectin them one by one.
What we need (even if the bug above get fixed) is an ability to select all the dimensions at once.
The powerful and free Select Menu plugin (https://rj-graffix.com/downloads/plugins/#selectmenu) doesn’t have this item yet as well.

Allow to disable 'Create PDF Compatible File' option when saving AIT templates
Compatibility with PDF takes a ton of disk space, and .ait templates don’t really need it, because these are no intended to be imported or placed — just launched. Perhaps you should disable it by default?
As I understand, these are actually just .ai files, but the different extension causes Ai to process them differently...
I don’t expect a full-blown dialog when saving, but why not?
Take a look at this related request:
