  1. Distribute / align on edges of an artboard or a shape

    A request to add two buttons to the "Align" options :
    distributing shapes on an artboard in order to have equal spaces between those two shapes AND the edges of the artboard.
    This could work with more than two shapes, and artboard could also be replaced by another shape (like a background color...).

    This should be clearer with a picture...

  2. give users the option to copy layers, and NOT have them renamed.

    currently, Character Animator REQUIRES multiple layer hierarchies that use the exact same naming convention.

    When I duplicate a perfectly good Layer Hierarchy, every damned single layer in it, Gets renamed. This creates Hours of tedious work for me that is incredibly stupid.

    I want a set of options in the preferences to dictate exactly how Illustrator behaves when it duplicates a Layer/Layer Hierarchy.

    I want to be able to change the string used.
    I want to be able to set it to use a numbering system (number, step, padding)
    I want to be able to turn it the **** off.

  3. Allow to drag CC Library items directly to Asset Export panel

    I've just finished dragging 24 logo variations to the CC libraries pane and named each individually.

    Now I want to export each of these in various formats, but I can't drag directly from the CC Libraries pane to the Asset Export pane.

    Instead, I have to rename every single one manually when dragging all 24 into the asset export pane.

    What a pane!

  4. Same Place shortcut key as in After Effects

    Why not use the same shortcut key as After Effects for 'placing' images i.e.. Apple or CTRL 'i'. Using the 'Shift' CTRL P is awkward. Photoshop should also have the same shortcut key. Different shortcuts for different Adobe programs slow downs users.

  5. Let Typekit have a narrow and tall font

    Typekit is missing a really basic, classic font:

    If you look at posters for movies like THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY, you'll notice that the fonts often are 30-35% taller than any font that's available in typekit.

    So it would be super nice if Typekit could add something like that. It's really important if you're making movie posters...

  6. Editable path smoothing for pencil and brush paths

    I'm proposing smoothing that may be applied or removed after a path has been created with the pencil or brush tool by the user. When a path is being created, the program would capture necessary coordinate information and the path would be represented on screen as drawn, or with a certain amount of smoothing (set prior to drawing in tool panel). If the user wanted more or less smoothing applied after creating the path, the amount could be adjusted by selecting the path and changing the amount applied. If the path would no longer need adjusting, it could be expanded…

  7. Don't automatically lock new template layers

    It would be useful when creating a new template layer it did not immediately become locked. Usually, I would want to put items on this layer like notes or reference marks, but unlocking the layer seems like an unnecessary step for a layer that has just been created.

  8. Remember last used SVG / SVGZ save and export settings (Responsive and others)

    We often need SVG and SVGZ that are NOT responsive to the web area (we need to control the viewable font size for psychometrics purposes).

    Illustrator default switches to Responsive being checked after every Illustrator restart. It would be great if every time I restart Illustrator the check box for "Responsive" remembered that I want it UNchecked (our workaround is to create a new SVGZ file immediately after every restart and uncheck the Responsive box, and if we don't remember to do that task our work must be tediously re-exported).

  10. Latest resale on Ubuntu/Linux OS

    Please release Adobe Illustrator to Ubuntu as I really wants to move into Ubuntu.
    But without Illustrator I can live a single day.

  11. When entering colour values Illustrator searches your currently open swatch book for the same values.

    So for example if you are doing a CMYK colour, once you've put in the values it comes up with a "suggested swatch" option that has the same values or even suggests swatches with similar/close values.

  12. Direct Selection Tool to select only points

    When using the Direct Selection Tool to move an anchor point IT SHOULD JUST MOVE THAT POINT without having to click on the point first. If I wanted to move the whole object I wouldn't be using the Direct Selection Tool, WOULD I?

  13. Please add a drop-down feature for font families, that allows all families to collapse and lock in the drop-down position.

    Can you please create a system preference in which I am able to collapse all font families at once, and will lock them in the drop-down position?
    It is very hard to scroll through the typefaces and collapse families individually, one by one.

  15. Export for Screens: Option to include file- and artboard-name automatically.

    Ok the "Export for Screen" option is kind of nice, however it takes far too long to set everything up....

    1. The areas to type in are far too small.
    2. Automation is week a. where can define that all images will get the file name of the original *.AI file. b. why does it keep the old folder location? Set an option to export is where the original *.AI-file is located. c. Where are some presets? Wouldn't it be awesome to have some user-defined presets? It would be.

  16. fsType not honored when exporting as PDF

    Hello,
    I've noticed the fsType value in the OS/2 table of OTF fonts is not honored by Indesign nor Illustrator.

    I've set the value of fsType to 0x0102 and this should prevent subsetting and embedding.
    However, Illustrator exports to pdf, embedding . Worst, it gives no warning the embedding/subsetting isn't allowed for the current font.

    for info, I had flushed any font cache to be sure the font files are the good ones and deleted them from my disk before reopening my pdf to be sure they're embedded.
    For info, these fonts are located in Library > Application support >…

  18. Alt+click to create an artboard and open artboard dimensions

    Alt+Click in artboard work space to set location AND open an artboard dimensions dialog box. At present we have to draw an artboard and then go edit the dimensions. Currently its 2 clicks and a couple of drags, instead of just one click with the proposal above.

    Also most other tools have "Alt+Click" features enabled, think "square" "rotate" "scale". etc.

  19. Export BMP on various artboards

    When will it be possible to export more than one image of the same artwork on different artboards in the .bmp?
    The 'Use artboards' option is disabled for this format.

    Please add web sockets to extendscript for AI. It's a pain ********** to have to use bridge.
