Non-Latin Support for Numbers in UI
I use Bengali extensively in CC, and it's frustrating that the interface doesn't understand Bengali numerals as their latin equivalents - for example if I type ৩৩ in the font size, it doesn't understand it as 33. However, I noticed that in the latest version of InDesign (13.0 x64) it does recognize & convert Bengali numerals - for example when I type ৩৩ in the font size box it converts it to 33pt. However, this still doesn't work in the current version of Illustrator (22.0.1 x64), and it would make sense to have this feature throughout the major CC products.

InCopy Assignments
Just as InDesign lets designers can assign InCopy assignments to text blocks, can the same functionality be done for Illustrator?

Efect menu
I would like to provide a suggestion, to the "Effect" menu of Illustrator, they will take the same aesthetics from the rest of the menus. "Effect" looks very Windows 95.

Switch between pages without a save and close
I edit massive amounts of business cards. They are saved as two page documents. They are easiest to edit in Illustrator and I haven't found a way to switch between pages without saving and closing and reopening. I would like to switch between pages of a document to edit illustrator type artwork within these documents.

A back button on the Save & Export windows
Often when saving/exporting a file from illustrator i'll move through the various steps; naming the file, choosing a location, adjusting the settings etc, then just as i go to hit 'ok' on the final window i'll realise i forgot to adjust a setting in an earlier window and so am forced to hit the cancel button and start the saving process again.
Obviously its not a huge issue but it would save a little time and frustration if you could just click a back button rather than having to start over.2 votes -
Save for Web
The new and NOT IMPROVED Illustrator does not allow me to save gifs and jpegs for the web. I used this feature all time since I design web banners - and now it's gone! Thanks for nothing, Adobe!
2 votesHi,
This option is available under File > Export > Save For Web (Legacy). If you still don’t find the option or any other issue please let us know.

Disabling Keep Selected option for Pencil tool should not deselect path that is edited
A detail that I'm missing from the legacy Pencil tool.
It’s a missing detail in the option keep to path selected or deselected after being drawn.
When this option is unchecked the object is deselected.
If the path is selected again to be drawn upon to adjust the shape. It deselects it again.
Now that's all logical and according to what the option says its supposed to do.BUT
The legacy Pencil tool before its rewrite it worked almost like that but not quite the same, and it was great.
So you had the option to have the path deseletced after drawing.
BUT if you den reselected it it stayed selected for as long as you needed it to adjust the shape. So to be clear I'm gonna try to describe the process
Draw shape.
Shape drawn, not selected.
Select the drawn shape to draw on it to adjust it, its selected, you draw on on it, it still stays selected. This was very useful. Because usually you just want it deselected on first draw, but sometimes you need to go in and adjust a particular shape and then you're in the mode of massaging that shape and want it selected till you're done.
Please try the old pencil tool out and you will understand what i mean.
Please implement this again.Basically that the shape only deselect upon first draw. If reselected again it stays selected till you decide when to deselect it.
It worked like this for 20 years or however long the the pencil too has been around.A detail that I'm missing from the legacy Pencil tool.

Angled Guidelines
I'm working on a typography piece right now and my guidelines look like this (see attached.) The black lines are straight strokes. I think it would be really neat to have an option for angled guidelines, so I don't have to mix vertical/horizontal guides with strokes.
2 votesIllustrator allows to turn any path into a guide with View > Guides > Make Guides command (and the opposite as well).
Also it’s possible to rotate guides, using Rotate tool and Rotate dialog.

Take that light bulb icon that accesses tutorials and push it further...
Take your tutorial access feature and push it further, make it a customizable recipe resource, not unlike a cookbook.
• Enable users to save (links to) tutorials relevant to their specific interests AND allow them to bookmark.
• This idea fits well with all your apps.
• Explore some ways to encourage users to post accessible tutorials on Adobe Cloud, formatted for this function. That would stimulate your apps community greatly. Example: Zbrush
Ps. The new properties feature is awesome. Thank you!2 votes -

Pattern making
I want a feature in the pattern making panel. When I make a pattern I often duplicate a graphic and change something, maybe color, in the area where you make the graphics that shall be repeated. After duplicated I move it to the place where it is repeated. Then I can change color of one of the graphics for example, and these both graphics are now repeated. The problems is that when I move the graphic I kind of eyeball the placement of it. I would want to be more exact and quicker with it. I don't know what one would call it if one could make this automattic, "place the new graphic in the repeat"? And this should be possible to do if I have a bigger scene with more graphics that I want to duplicate. For example I may have a little scene and I want to duplicate it one step up and then both these to the right, then I have it duplicated four times. So it would be great if you could for example mark by covering up a grid how you want it duplicated. For example you could mark two rows in width and three rows in height to get it duplicated like that six times. Then I would get it exact, and it would be easy to get in and make some changes in it, in that new "tile".

Highlighted cursor markers on rulers
I would love to see an option to enable a highlighted cursor marker on the ruler. To explain what I mean by cursor marker, I mean the small, light gray line that follows where your cursor is along the x and y ruler. This light gray line is very hard to distinguish its exact position against the background ruler markers, since there is literally no contrast between them. I would love to see an option to change it to any of the system swatches.

Distribute in patterns
I want the pattern to be able to connect more to the resulting repeat. With that I mean for example this.
1) If I draw a line freehand, from left to right. Then I would like to be able to make a seamless repeat of that line. So at the right I can "connect" to the left end and join/smooth it together
2) If I want 4 similar/identical things spaced evenly and repeated. Then I can distribute the group to space it evenly. But on the left and right side (or top/bottom) how do this spacing between the items gets the same as the spacing to the next repeat on the ends? I would like to distribute, not only between the objects within my tile, but also that I get the same distance to the next tile when repeated. To do this it must be some connection to the resulting pattern.

Allow to assign a keyboard shortcut to change Constrain angle in Preferences
I would like to see access to Doc prefs via shortcuts / actions. So for example when I press F3 it changes Constrain Angle to 30 degrees. Currently use a keyboard macro made for this but it’s not very good. In general if we could access more things via shortcuts and actions it would make work flows more efficient.

adapt default imperial/metric units to geolocation, or remember previous settings
This relates to the procedure of creating a new document, so that there shouldn't be a need for changing system every time, to comprehend the dimensions of a document in usual units.

No strokes on linked files
Illustrator CC 2017 (up to date) Windows 64bit
Place a linked file, eg. a jpg
Add a stroke to the linked file object in the appearance panel
Try and change the stroke weight.
Expected a stroke. like any other.2 votesTo have strokes around your linked images, you should do some additional steps:
1. Apply a stroke (obviously)
2. Open Appearance panel
3. Focus the applied stroke attribute
4. Apply Path > Outline Object effect
It should be placed 'inside' of the stroke attribute, not the object itself. You can always drag-n-drop it if you missed.
Why does it work?
The image does not have a path for a stroke to be applied to. If you aplly the effect to the image directly, its pixel data is replaced by a path around the bounding box. Applied to stroke, it give it 'rails' to be stroked along.
Not easy to grasp, but once you get it, Appearance panel becomes your best friend.

Scatter Brush 'scatter magnitude' slider
I would like to see a new pair of sliders in the scatter brush options that controls how 'powerful' the scatter is.
Each instance of the brush image would have its distance from the central path, as defined by the 'scatter' slider(s), multiplied by this value. So if it was at 0%, any effect of the scatter sliders would be completely nullified, if it was at 1000%, the effect of the scatter sliders would be multiplied by ten.
Essentially, I would like to be able to control how 'wide' a scatter brush is based on my stylus pressure. The existing 'scatter' control just directly maps light pressure to the value of the left slider and full pressure to the one on the right, which results in the brush art being deposited in a line that wiggles around the path. Which is rarely what I want.
More broadly it would probably be nice to be able to make a scatter brush’s size, spacing, and rotation vary with stylus pressure/tilt/bearing/whatever. Scatter is just the setting I most keenly feel the lack of this with.

"Check Spelling" Back or Undo Last Button
Add a back button or Undo Last button in the "Check Spelling" dialog box. Many times I accidentally skip a word that needs correction and I have to restart "Check Spelling" from the beginning.
Other times I accidentally pick the wrong correction and have to quit "Check Spelling" undo the fix and restart the process all over again.
Thanks!

auto arrange artboards on new
First, the workspace is Too **** small at this point, especially when working in pixels. And someone out there assumes 72dpi still. Stop it!
I'm creating 4K artboards to explore some ideas. I create 2 of them. And it won't let me create a 3rd without rearranging. Who's idea was That!?!?
The first thing you should do is just move the stinkin' workspace. What's with all the room on the left? Look, if you only work left to right, why are you always trying to center the artboards in the workspace? You'll never use the space above or to the left? Come on people, this isn't rocket science. Just figure out how much space you'd like as a buffer (user selected please) and start the first artboard in near the upper left.
And once you start creating artboards, if you just leave things as the default , once you've got your 4 artboards that fit horizontally (because that's as many 4k boards that you can fit in the workspace) then when I create another one, automatically drop it below artboard1. Don't tell me to rearrange. And I'd actually like a buffer all the way around my artboards, because I may have some items that fall off the artboard. So I may only want to allow 3 artboards wide, and drop the next ones.
Artboards aren't Just for pages. Some of us use them so we can see design exploration all in one document. The useability here sucks.
If some software engineer sees this, they shouldn't even be waiting for votes. It's clearly an oversight and it should be fixed. Do the right thing. Just fix it.
