Emoji Support
I tried to type the emoji on my Windows keyboard and it comes up as boxes. I can type them in Excel-- it seems like I should be able to in illustrator too!

Allow CC Libraries to store point type text
If I drag point type into a CC library, it gets converted to area type with some seemingly arbitrary width.
In general, if I drag something into a CC library, I want to get out what I put in, not something else.
Thanks!

Edit multiple selected paths with Pencil tool.
This Illustrator feature has been lost since version CS5:
- Select multiple strokes
- Use Pencil tool to edit selected strokes.
In CS5 Illustrator understood the difference between "User-selected strokes" and "Newly created strokes" allowing users to fine-tune multiple paths with the Pencil tool without losing the selection. This feature has been lost, in ALL subsequent versions of Illustrator. What a loss!!

Increase contrast between selected font and other fonts in Font list in Character palette
Not long ago the contrast between current font and other fonts in list in Character menu was quite sufficient (see image 1). Now it's barely visible (image 2). It makes locating current font in list rather difficult.
Please reconsider colors chosen.

Make 'Recent fonts' section in Character palette work alongside with selecting current font in font list
Recently AI made focus in font list in Character palette jump to the top of the list, in 'Recent fonts' part, thus making impossible to browse fonts in alphabetical order — you have to scroll font list manually to position.
This is stupid.
In 22.1.0 this request has been realized:
https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-feature-requests/suggestions/32044567-option-to-disable-recent-fonts-featureNow user can set '0' in Preferences to completely eliminate 'Recent' section in font list — and this magically 'fixes' selection of current font in context.
This is stupid.
I personally want to use BOTH 'Recent fonts' AND current font focusing.
I don't care about it won't be selected in Recent: just show me chosen number of recent font options above the line (without selection), make it fixed (or make it go away right after I start scrolling) and select current font in the main list.Just like CorelDraw does (see image attached).

But since it’s stupid, please add votes to make it work properly.

To have an option in stroke panel to keep end points vertical/horizontal on angled strokes
Would love an option to easily have the endpoint of a stroke remain vertical/horizontal when using angled strokes. To 'shear' a stroke isn't easy, so could this be an option in the Stroke panel?

Ctrl+Scroll to zoom instead of Alt+scroll in Windows
Can you please add an option or something to change the zoom shortcut from ALT+Scroll to CTRL+Scroll?
Because in Windows the ALT button activates the app menu which is pretty stupid! Or at least disable the activation of the app menu with the ALT button. For example I zoom in using ALT+Scroll and now I want to select the Type tool using T on the keyboard and I get the Type drop down menu from the top (see attached screenshot).
And as you can see this can become very frustrating especially when spending hours in Illustrator!Btw please don't suggest other zooming methods as I like this one the best since it's the most useful and quicker.
Also the same goes for Photoshop as well on Windows. Can you please add an option or something to change the zoom shortcut from ALT+Scroll to CTRL+Scroll?

Stroked Object Transform Bug Constrain Error Adobe Illustrator CC 2017-2018
When using the transform panel to resize an object or multiple objects, it goes without saying if you select constrain, there should be confidence it will scale respectively. A circle remains a circle, a square a square, a 16:9 Graphic stays 16:9 etc. etc.
Unfortunately I have noticed a very concerning bug where if one of the objects has a stroke, it will not transform constrained. I noticed because the object I grabbed had a perfect circle, that seems maybe 5% horizontally compressed afterward.
I have done this screencast to show the bug does not occur on non-stroked objects- only on transforms applied to ones with strokes.
I have no idea how long this has been the case, but I have done the screencast on a new document to replicate the findings in hope a patch can be done asap.
I also have AI CC 2018, so will perform the same check also and post if not resolved.
Here is the AI CC 2017 screencast https://youtu.be/q0YK-OOdA5s

Honestly, I would rather an entire year go by with no new features. Instead, I would rather all of Adobe's efforts go into making the applications run faster. I am running a brand new, completely decked out MacBook pro, and am doing some UX design in illustrator. It is getting really frustrating when I try to nudge an item with the left arrow button and have to wait a couple seconds for it to actually happen.

Make "Export Selection…" Actionable.
The fact that "Actions" is not in the list is telling.
Make "Export Selection…" Actionable. Currently, it is not recognized when recording an Action of when "Adding a menu item" to an existing action.
Actons, in general, are in dire need of attention in Illustrator. Please consider making them a priority.

Aligned "Dashed Line": PLEASE enable for "Rounded Rectangle".
The "Dashed Line" has an optional button that "Aligns dashes to corners and path ends, adjusting lengths to fit." for the "Rectangle Tool" (and the Star Tool, and the Polygon tool), but it doesn't work on the "Rounded Rectangle"! Why?
Please make the "Aligns dashes to corners and path ends, adjusting lengths to fit." work for Rounded Rectangles, PLEASE.
Thank you!

Glitchy remove behaviour in Color Groups in Recolor artwork
There are a lot of problems when I removing color set in Color Groups.
First - list jumps into the end, if I remove first element for example or any from the top. Also - Backspace or Del keys not works, I can't remove using them. From video you can see that there are a lot of colors and I want be able to select multiple of them with just a mouse.Thats just typical and simple UX from NSListView ... you know? Why you didn't implemented all that behaviour?

Refining pressure sensitivity
Just like pencil drawing refining.
Using tablet, I would like to redefine stroke size with pressure sensitivity when using brushing tools on a selected line.
After the first brushing, it only modifies shape not brush size. Please I'm waiting this for a long time and I'm so surprised it still does not exist.

Brush smoothing (fidelity) per brush preset
Currently brush smoothing is set only by double clicking the brush tool icon and is universal.
Logically it should be set at the brush options dialogue, individual for each brush preset along with angle, size, roundness etc.
Each brush reacts differently, and there should be an option to have brushes with various smoothing settings all available at once.
Saving brush presets would retain their smoothing setting as well.
Ideally, Illustrator should adopt some of Photoshop's brush engine settings.8 votes -
An ability to control the assumed resolution for placed PNG files
Raster images brought into Illustrator always seem to appear at 72 ppi, and are scaled too large relative to an artboard with 300 ppi raster effects. There is no way to set images to appear at the desired resolution, instead requiring you to manually adjust their size with the transform tools.
A 300 pixel wide PNG appears on the artboard scaled 4.17 inches/105.8 mm wide. It's too big and blurry if you print it. You have to down-size it manually with the transform tools... awkward.
The desired behaviour is for raster images to appear scaled on the artboard at an appropriate size relative to their own resolution and the document raster effect settings.
A 300 pixel wide PNG should appear on a 300 ppi artboard at a scale of 1 inch/25.4 mm.

Keep non-visible Layers from showing on PDF.
This was not a problem in the past. If you save as a PDF, layers which are OFF will appear in the PDF. Wrong. Bad. Why? Obviously not what the user intended. Bad programming. Please fix.

Scale raster images by setting a new resolution
I'd like a tool which allows us to scale raster images (linked or embedded) relative to the artboard raster effect settings. eg. you'd tell it 72 dpi, 150dpi, 300dpi, 355dpi etc. and the image would re-scale to the correct relative size against the artboard.
At the moment raster images brought into Illustrator always seem to appear at 72pdi, and are scaled too large relative to an artboard with 300dpi raster effects. This is a problem which needs fixing.

Ability to change starting point for closed path
Currently the only option is to cut and the path or redraw the path completely if the starting anchor is in the wrong place. For straight edges, such as a square or even a rectangle it's easy to work around, but when it's a curved edge it is difficult to replicate the same curve with the cut method. Could easily add this feature to stoke effect so that the starting point can be adjusted with a click on the anchor. Or have left and right arrows to move it to a different starting anchor (although that wouldn't work on things with many anchors it would assist with anchor points close together).

Better antialiasing
Long time ago I abandoned Xara and moved to Illustrator full-time.
I managed to solve all problems I had encountered with, but several things still bug me.One of them is this:
https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447-illustrator-bugs/suggestions/31525333-minus-front-on-grouped-objects
https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447-illustrator-bugs/suggestions/32954797-pathfinder-must-work-with-group-as-a-single-objectThe other one is a crude antialiasing.
See attached images.
Zara puts more shades of gray to show the slope of test line, while AI leaves more uniformly filled areas. It gets more noticeable when angle gets sharper.
Changing antialising options doesn't help. Please, make antialiasing better.
