notification when links won't update because of locked layers
It would be great if I could get a notification when links don't update because they're on a locked layer. I keep clicking on the update button in the links palette and I think something's wrong, when it's operator error.

Saving PDF without modifying embedded images
Universities use LaTex PDF in researches for a good reason. The PDF produced by a LaTex app won't resample or blow-up the embedded images (JPEG). As a researcher, it will save us a lot of time if illustrator PDF setting has the option to not resample or alter the embedded images. A JPEG image (1920 x 1920 pixels) of a size 200 KB will make illustrator PDF file of about 10 MB. Whereas the PDF file produced by a LaTex app will be slightly bigger than 200 KB. I hope Adobe engineers will consider this issue.

Stop creating extra anchors
Using tools like the join tool, shaper tool and some pathfinder tools, creates more anchors than were originally in the elements that are being joined using the tools mentioned. This degrades my lines and sometimes turns corner anchors into curved or moves the anchors all together when creating more. I have spent a lot of time having to go back and fix these issues. Most of the time you can't see it until well after you have saved and have to rely keeping extra backups of your work to ensure you aren't losing details. Extra anchors creates more data to…

Enable Symbols Options edit in multi selections
Symbol option changes are made per symbol only, please enable when multiple symbols are selected. ie. I have 10 dynamic symbols that I want to change to static symbols, it currently has to be done one-by-one.

Copy Live Type into Indesign in Preserving text boxes
I work on graphic novels where the type layers are set in PS (ugh)
Brought into Illustrator as editable text. Would love to be able to copy and paste the entire page as editable formatted text into InDesign,

Auto fit text in text frame
It would be really useful if Illustrator could autofit text within set parameters, similar to InDesign. This would minimize over matter that often occurs when importing text, especially when using the variable links.
I mean resize the text to fit the text frame to avoid over matter and get everything in. Text frame size should not change.3 votes -
Find and Replace text panel not closing after every replacement
When you need to replace multiple text in illustrator right now you need to copy the text go to Edit - Find and replace, paste your text, replace it, and then click done which results to closing the window.
So you must reopen the window every time for the next replacement.
You can have this option as it is in InDesign where you can copy and paste text while the window is open and the window stays open after you done replacing. Also it will be more convenient to be able to add the panel at the dock.

右クリックメニューにもダイアログボックスにも「削除」がないため、永遠にユーザー定義した過去の遠近グリッドが残ってしまう。

複雑な図形の分割
「オブジェクト」→「パス」→「グリットに分割」みたいな
四角以外の複雑な形（ハートや花のシルエット)を均等に同じ面積で指定した数分の分割できる機能が欲しい3 votes -
Ability to change measurement type under "Art Board Options"
When an artboard is selected, and ART BOARD OPTIONS menu is active, you can only see measurement in whatever type is already selected DOCUMENT SETUP - i.e. if you get a file that someone built under millimeters, but you work in pixels, inches etc, you have to close the OPTIONS and go back to DOCUMENT SETUP and start over. I have to check art board sizes dozens of times a day and I have to back up many times. A drop down menu under ARTBOARD OPTIONS to change measurement type would be helpful.

Share for Review link name
I can see that name of my link, when preparing to share to client, but then I copy the link, ant it's name is really not with that name, that my document is, or I written in link name field. The link appears ugly and long.
It would be better to send the link to client with short name, that don't look like unsecured link

Searching brushes and other tools by their name in their tab would be great
I am saving all my brushes and patterns into my Print.ai file (am I supposed to do that?) and now it grew up to 100 MB.
With that many brushes, many of them also similar, a search brush by name feature perhaps would be helpful.3 votes -
Keep edit Intertwine editable after pressing Ctrl+z
When Ctrl+z is pressed to undo an intertwine, the whole object is unselected as an intertwine and cannot be edited as an intertwine, without pressing edit in the intertwine menu.
This does not occur in other tools like live paint, after pressing Ctrl+z, the object remains selected as a live paint object and remains editable.
If possible, please add this feature.
This is valuable to me, because it speeds up my workflow, as it makes Illustrator more consistent.
3 votesAn Intertwine object no longer gets deselected when you undo an operation, and now behaves more like Live Paint. Please reply if it does not match your expectations.

Rotate and scale any object same time
This feature is available in CorelDraw
I’m using CorelDraw for 11 to 12 years. When i click twice at any object in CorelDraw Rotation Handle activate. and I rotate and scale any kind of object at same time while pressing Shift key and in illustrator i tried to use this option but i find nothing. Can you help me in this problem?3 votes -
Auto-fill file name in search bar when re-linking / replacing missing links
The process of replacing missing links could be less tedious if Illustrator would auto-fill the name of the file in the search bar of the file browser. For me, it is often easier to perform a search for the file name rather than navigating through multiple depths of folders. An option to auto-fill the file name rather than manually typing it would make this regular task much smoother.

現状ではライブペイントを適用したオブジェクトの線幅に強弱をつける際、現在はライブペイントを拡張して線幅ツールを使用するか、線のパスのみを前面にコピペして作業する必要があります。

Let us set the default color for effects
I know this was changed in a recent release, but instead of just setting the default color for drop shadow to 100%K, let us choose what we want the default to be. Some of us might want rich black instead - or a different color. And please do this for all effects that use colors (Outer Glow, Inner glow, etc..)

グループ内のサブレイヤが非表示でも順序を入れ替えられるようにしてほしい
たくさんのレイヤのグループを作り、各グループのうちひとつを表示して書き出し、という方法で何枚も図面を作ることが多いです。
例えば「1990年」というグループ内に、当時の「道路」「土地利用」「施設」等を入れ、同じように「2000年」「2010年」というグループを作る、等です。
このときに、すべてのグループにおいて「道路」サブレイヤを「土地利用」サブレイヤの上に移動したいとします。
ところが、現状各グループが非表示だとレイヤの上下移動ができません。「1990年」を表示して、レイヤを移動して、「1990年」を非表示にして、「2000年」を表示して、…と面倒な作業を行わなければなりません。移動するレイヤは名前でわかるので、非表示のまま移動できればかかる時間が大幅に減るのに、と思っています。時間短縮のために、グループ内のサブレイヤが非表示でも順序を入れ替えられる機能をつけてほしいです。
