1. Can't select linked png/bmp files when they have transparent backgrounds.

   Placing several linked BMP or PNG files with transparent backgrounds causes them to become randomly unselectable by clicking on them. You have to go to outline mode, find and select the edge of the image, or select with marquee tool and then carefully unselect the extra objects. Either way, it cannot be moved except to click on the edge of the images frame. This has been an issue for years. I think I may have even posted about it before, but can't find that now. IMO this is an issue that should be escalated as it such a basic operation that is broken. See the video below. This has been replicated by many others.

2. Crash on new artboard

   Every time I click on the "+" under my artboards window, it crashes. I have 24 artboards already, and if I duplicate one using Option click drag, it seems ok. But New Artboard crashes again and again.

3. Problem with Grouping Layers

   I didn't use to have this problem and it doesn't seem to happen all the time, but when it happens it is annoying. That is, when I want to group two different sets of separately grouped objects into a grouped layer, what happens is that each of the layer groups with specific set of objects become combined into one single layer group. That is, the objects are no longer layer grouped by their original layer groups, but all the objects where combined into the same layer group. An Example would be: One layer group contains yellow objects and another layer group contains red objects. When I go into the layer panel and select both layer groups and hit ctrl G for group all the yellow and all the red objects become combined into a single layer group instead of the layer groups themselves becoming a sub-layer group of a sub group layer. Not only do I get this problem, but all the original layers that originally contained those separate layer groups become blank layers left on the template and that would be outright tedious to have to search through all the layers and delete the ones that are empty.
   I didn't use to have these problems so It must have been an update or something.

4. Recovery opens Print.ai document profile instead of restoring a document after crash

   This has happened twice in the past few days, the first time Illustrator unexpectedly crashed and just now it froze and I had to force quit the program. Both times, when I reopen Illustrator it tells me it's recovered my file(s), shows the correct document name (like Untitled-3, etc) and I press OK. It then pulls up a document called Print.ai which is just a blank artboard, maybe something I made in the past and didn't use? I go to the folder on my computer where the recovered files are supposed to go, it will say the folder has been modified with the accurate date/time but is empty. I've already mourned the loss of my files but was curious if anyone else is having the same issue?

   Elizabeth, the team suspects that can be triggered by moving the original file to another folder while it’s still opened.

   Then, if Ai crashes, if can’t properly locate it and it leads to this exact problem.

   Does it sound like something that could have been the case?

5. SVG Save As 'SVG Code...' not same as marked up saved SVG. This now matches Export As SVG

   The content saved when you Save As... SVG is different in 28.5 to 28.3. When you click SVG Code... the text file preview matches that of the old version. Example file header:

   This is the same format you get on File Export, Export As SVG.

   I now have to copy and paste the SVG code from the preview when clicking 'SVG Codes...' instead of being able to save as SVG.

   I need the format using the style tags in SVG and the stX CSS for my use case.

   Clearly there is an issue when the save preview and the actual save result in a different structure.

   The content saved when you Save As... SVG is different in 28.5 to 28.3. When you click SVG Code... the text file preview matches that of the old version. Example file header:

   This change is intentional. The team aims to improve the way SVG is generated (speed, size, redundancy, etc.) and merge current both code branches into one.

   Since some workflows heavily rely on the way the code structure is organized, the team tries to gather feedback on it.

   Please describe what engine changes affect you and why.

6. Snap to point requires zooming in to work

   Why do you have to zoom right in almost to get points to snap to each other properly? Do you understand how disruptive to workflow this is? It seems to be a real issue when not zoomed right in to an image. This is very annoying!

   If you are still having problems with this, please provide a test file and a small video showing the exact workflow and the combination of options used. This would help to start investigation.

7. PDF error "This file is damaged" in the new Illustrator 2023 (27.0)

   In Adobe Illustrator 2023 (27.0), when attempting to open a PDF in illustrator, I get an error message and the file does not open. The error reads "This file is damaged" with no extra context or solution. The file refuses to open.

   The same file WOULD open on the previous Adobe Illustrator 2022 (I believe 26.5), and I would receive an error message (The document contains PDF objects that have been reinterpreted: An unknown shading type was encountered.) The file would then open, and then I could poke around the layers in order to get the vector shapes I needed (it seemed many clipping masks were hiding the shapes, but eventually they were all in there).

   Is there a reason this same PDF is no longer able to open in the new Illustrator?

9. Magnifying screen redrawing flaws

   In Illustrator 2022, when I zoom in, the screen turns black and my artwork only redraws the portions where I hover the mouse, as if the display was defective.

10. AiRobin using 16-24% CPU constantly

    Every time Illustrator is opened (and sometimes after it is closed) AIRobin uses cpu constantly even when no files are opened.

    1. OS: Windows 10 Pro ver:2004 build:19041.1165
    2. Illustrator Beta 26.0.667
    3. steps to reproduce are above
    4. my expected result is for it to only use CPU when a task is needed
    5. this description should be more than adequate.

11. ローカルに保存できない（不明なエラー）

    Illustrator2021（Var.25.3.1)

    不明なエラーでローカルに保存できません。

    ・何も配置していないドキュメントでも保存できない。
    ・ai/eps/svg/pdfどの形式でも保存できない。
    ・クラウドなら保存できます。

    ・Illustratorをインストールし直しても無理。
    ・Illustrator2020にダウングレードしても無理。
    　（2021にアップグレードする前はできていた）
    ・環境ファイルを削除しても無理。

12. Paste in Front not pasting on current artboard

    Paste in Front keeps pasting objects back on the original artboard, not on the one I have in focus, or a selected object on. Seems to error randomly, but when it does not work, it blows my productivity.

13. RGB colors appear differently in identical file setup

    I have created color codes in one document and brought them into another (with the exact same RGB setup) and the color breakdowns change to look the same. This is a problem because if I am sharing the RGB breakdowns with others, some of the colors appear much duller. I have noticed that something changes when an image is brought in from an external source sometimes. This is becoming a big issue across our team.

14. Colors in entire file are suddenly completely wrong (when not in pixel preview mode)

    I just encountered this bug on macOS 10.14 with Illustrator 2021. After pasting a PNG into my document, the colors of everything suddenly look very different and washed out.

    I can "fix" this by using Pixel Preview mode OR "View using CPU", but that slows down my workflow. I even tried opening an earlier version before I pasted the PNG, and the colors are still completely wrong! Can anyone help?

15. Copy (or Cut) \ Paste: the object appears on the same layer when another layer is selected.

    I have an object\s on layer 1. I copy\cut it. Select layer 2, press Paste - the object Appears on layer 1 and layer 2 is still selected.

    It should appear on layer 2 as it was before.

    As per the comment, this often happens if you enable Paste Remembers Layers in the Layers panel’s flyout menu. With it turned on, Ai respect the original layers of pasted objects.

16. Overprint bug. Overprint check stays on

    Overprint check stays on, even when overprinting object is deselected. This causes confusion when printing.

17. SVGs opened in Illustrator don't include blend modes

    I created an SVG in Illustrator that has some layers using the blend mode "overlay". I export out the SVG and it looks perfect. If I open that SVG in Illustrator it turns the blend modes into "normal" instead of "overlay".

18. Area Type Text with Vertical Alignment Breaks in CC Libraries

    It seems if I set an Area Type box to Accent and apply Center Vertical Alignment in the Area Type Options that the text will break up (perhaps by kerning pairs?) once reopened.

    The Area Type text is gone and it's broken up point type.

    If I were to use a standard Area Type box (Baseline: Em Box Height; Vertical Alignment: Top), there's no issue, and the text remains editable as Area Type.

19. Change Illustrator paste offset distance to closer to cursor inside of viewing area

    Illustrator often pastes objects randomly outside of my viewing area, and I have to zoom out and scroll over to get it. I want to change the offset distance so it pastes inside my view area, not outside of it. OR, make it paste near where the cursor is, not way off somewhere.
