Swatches - Gradient, Pattern, and Etc
Would be really nice to see swatches in a tab of its own, Currently it’s a little awkward to navigate through the small window and the swatches are very small making color combos difficult to distinguish. We’re also missing all the glory or gradient, pattern and misc swatches that are available on the desktop. Bring em to the iPad please :) !
In addition a shortcut “i” for eyedropper tool would be great (or some version that is more aligned with the desktop possibilities and easy to grab color)

Knife / Slice & Scissor tools
Available under the “erase” tool just as they are on the desktop. Or make a shortcut key to erase in straight lines, currently there isn’t an easy way to break paths.

Full screen preview shortcut / Artboard Panning / Rearrange Artboards
Currently there isn’t a way to view artboards in a preview mode without the background clutter (would be the equivalent of “Shift +F” shortcut on desktop). There also isn’t a way to rearrange or pan through or your art boards, as you would do via the arrow keys on the desktop version.
Aligning the viewing shortcuts with the desktop version would make viewing and navigating the IPad version so much easier!

Add option to Increase Canvas Bounds/Pasteboard Size
Add option to Increase Canvas Bounds/Pasteboard Size like InDesign.
For example, in InDesign you can navigate to Preferences > Guides & Pasteboard and set the size of the pasteboard. This is particularly handy in Illustrator when resizing or requiring more space for more artboards.

add Width Tool, Rotate Canvas, Swatches, Align To, Overlap, Desktop options in Isolation Mode
I look at Vectornator and Procreate and I saw how complex and user friendly Thayer were able to make their apps as a substitute for Adobe Illustrator now being iPad friendly. I used them to substitute what Adobe didn’t provide on iPad. Now we have it and it is NOT NEARLY close to what the other apps have accomplished and they are without half the staff and workmanship power Adobe provides. I don’t believe we can have excuses with this... too long a wait and I expect you would not need so much suggestions to make right what you already…

Create colour library to use on all documents in the app
Apparently this is not yet available to do. For designers that can only use certain colours on print products this is very frustrating

Import SVG
Illustrator for iPad doesn’t support importing SVGs. It should.

Additional desktop keyboard shortcuts
Just a few more artboard navigation shortcuts such as:
CMD 0: fit artboard on screen.
SPACE and drag to move artboard on screen. For those of us with ipad pros who are migrating to using ipads more frequently than our laptops, this would make illustrator a much more authentic design tool.

Move rotation anchor point
I want to be able to snap a straight line segment to a point on the grid and then to be able to select that point to repeat / rotate.
To illustrate - create a line 10 units long. Copy twice. Rotate one line 120°, the other -120°. Finally join them up as a perfect equilateral triangle.
Trying the same with the rotation tool the line ends seem impossible to align.

Ability to send artwork to illustrator without cloud
The free app vectornator offers the option to simply open your work in progress artwork in illustrator.
You can simply tap a button in the app and if you sit at your computer, have the app and your desktop version of illustrator linked to the same adobe account, it will open up illustrator and open your artwork.
No exporting needed, no saving it to the cloud.
One click and it opens it up.
Something like this would be quite beneficial to work seamlessly between the two version.
Ideally you could also do the same in reverse, just click a button…1 vote -

Save to local storage/other options
Ability to save files on the iPad´s local storage as well as other cloud services. Full integration with the Files app might be the way to go about this.
In short, I don’t want Creative Cloud to be my only choice to save files.

Font find and replace
Font find and replace like on desktop Illusrator. Also a way for fonts that do not allow editing on iPad to be shown with adobe fonts and let us update or use Adobe fonts. I had 2 fonts on a path it would update the 1 font but not the other and then I could not type on the path (circle). It old me I needed to update the missing font.wingdings2. Acumin Pro could be recommending adobe Acumin Pro variable width font. Acumin is fine in the opened file but wingding2 is not. And I cannot edit the type. It…

Illustrator for Samsung Galaxy Tablets
With the new release of the Adobe Illustrator for iPad, Adobe should consider creating an android-based version of the app to download via the Samsung App Store. From the little that I understand about the developmental/bug-related issues that could arise, that would give greater control in making it available to one type of Android device/ecosystem while also giving greater competitive edge to android-based/Samsung tablets.
