respondedAdobe Illustrator's Multithreading Journey Begins! Dear Illustrator Community, I'm thrilled to announce that we've embarked on an exciting journey to bring multithreading capabilities to Adobe Illustrator. This significant undertaking will enhance performance and responsiveness across various aspects of the application. While this is a complex process that will take some time to fully implement, I wanted to share our progress so far. Our Approach We've strategically begun by focusing on the most computationally intensive operations—those that typically take more time and block the main thread, resulting in slower response times while you work. By moving these operations to separate threads, we aim to significantly improve your overall experience with Illustrator. It's important to note that you may see more noticeable impact in some areas than others initially. However, we want to assure you that this is just the beginning, and we will continue this journey to bring improvements across… Hans-Peter Banitz

856 votesWe have released the support for Gradient swatches in CC library with our latest release - v29.3 You can select the gradient swatch in swatches panel and add it to CC Library through the button on the bottom bar in the panel. You can also select any object which has gradient applied and add that gradient to CC Library through Add Elements from the Libraries panel and choose Fill Gradient from the drop-down menu. Please update to this version from your Creative Cloud Desktop application and let us know your feedback. Hans-Peter Banitz

4 votesThis is fixed in the latest Beta Build 29.5.0.15 — now straight lines allow to add a point at the center positions. Please check if this now behaves as expected and comment back. However, the team didn’t make it into the snapping feature requested in comments — to be able to snap to middles of any segment, curved or straight. If you need one, please upvote this split request. commentedIn CorelDraw, the centres of paths are 'magnetic', so that, for example, guide lines can snap there. To find the centre in Illustrtor I have to add a point via script or AG PathScribe, which otherwise only inflates the document. Hans-Peter Banitz

Are you sure this is new? I've been using Illustrator since Freehand died, and I feel like I've been using it ever since, because Command-8 rarely works properly.
