An error occurred while saving the comment Is this still a problem for you in the latest version of Illustrator?
If yes — can you share more details on how exactly do you try this? Do you drag the image to the taskbar button and wait for the app to open, or do you hit Alt+Tab while holding the mouse down, or do you have you Explorer window partially on top of Ai window and just try to drop into it? A video of the behavior would be nice to have, to help the team to reproduce the issue. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Nathan, I remember this issue, but it seems to be fixed now. Can you verify that?

An error occurred while saving the comment There are multiple ways we can do this now, and each has its own benefits:
1. Record an action, assign a hotkey to it, and press it several times. To make it faster, we can make another action and call the first one several times in it.
2. Use a paid AG Offset plugin, which allows to quickly setup a custom effect, allowing many copies, transitions, distribution modes, and saving these as styles to use later.
3. Use another paid plugin, Open Offset Path by RJ Graffix, a simpler and cheaper one. It does not create an effect and draw the offsets immediately. -

An error occurred while saving the comment There is a related request about the ability to create symbols from multiple objects at once:
http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/47302652An error occurred while saving the comment If I select several symbols in Symbols panel and then try to place all of them on canvas, by dragging them, I get only one of them placed — the one I dragged the selection by...
...but why? Why can’t I have all those symbols I selected?
Also vote for the related request, about breaking links to several symbols at once:

An error occurred while saving the comment There is a related request about the ability to placing several symbols on canvas at once:
http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/37002922An error occurred while saving the comment Sure! Voted.
I know of several workaround we can use today. The most accessible one is a free Create Symbols from Groups script by Toshiyuki Takahashi (gau): https://github.com/gau/create-Individual-symbolsAdminEgor Chistyakov (Admin, Adobe Illustrator) supported this idea ·

An error occurred while saving the comment Amanda, does it still happen for you in latest versions of Illustrator?
If yes — can you please record the steps to replicate this on video? -

An error occurred while saving the comment I agree the file should remember chosen simulation per file, voted.
However, I do not agree proofing an RGB document to CMY has no meaning. On the contrary, it’s one of main uses for this function... but it definitely should not revert to it once changed and saved, yeah.AdminEgor Chistyakov (Admin, Adobe Illustrator) supported this idea ·

An error occurred while saving the comment MJ, is this still a problem for you in the latest version of Ai?
I’m mot sure I understand the problem only by this description.... Control panel never showed any controls for the blend, it requires to call the dialog, either through the menu or by double-clicking the tool’s icon.
Please help me to understand it. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Jason, do you test it on a curves spine like this one?
If yes — then it always behaved like this.
There is a feature request to allow us to control distribution separately form the curvature of a spine — http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/32403880
Do you mind me merging this to it?Also, there is a workaround I can offer for now — add more points on a path. The more points you add, the more uniform the distribution becomes.

An error occurred while saving the comment Can’t say it’s a best place to search for help of this kind... I’d ask this at Adobe forums instead — and I see you already did. This place is more about bug reports, feature request, and specialized feedback.

An error occurred while saving the comment Gala, can you please share a short video of this behavior?
Can you also share your full OS specs?
Does a previous version, or the Beta version (free to install from your CCD app), work fine? -

If you are still facing this issue, please add a comment.
An error occurred while saving the comment That’s not a real fix though. Although the legacy dialog works just fine, it does not magically makes the modern one work :( Glad at least you are able to crate docs now.
An error occurred while saving the comment As a workaround, try to open Preferences and check 'Use Legacy "File New" interface' — does it help to avoid the problem. Please reply.
An error occurred while saving the comment Check all the methods Ai has to create new documents and see if any of them work.
1. File > New
2. File > New, but with 'Use legacy "File New" interface' option enabled in Preferences > General
3. Creating a new document from an .ait template file (you can save any document as such a template, and then double-click it to create a new document based on it).
If you get any error message — please share a screenshot.AdminEgor Chistyakov (Admin, Adobe Illustrator) supported this idea ·
An error occurred while saving the comment Nur, meanwhile you can revert to legacy New window in Preferences > General. It won’t fix that one, but it will allow you to work.

An error occurred while saving the comment I can’t reproduce it, and a global color gets assigned to a gradient stop just fine.
here are numerous factors that can limit the bug, so it can easily be localized. So no wonder Adobe ignores it, they just knew nothing about it until this report...
Does it happen for any gradient at all? Can you share a test file, please? Also full details about your setup: OS build, Ai version, etc.Furthermore, I am seeing you are an Astute Graphics user... can you please also check if you are able to change the color of the stop using their Gradient Forge plugin? To know if it’s an object problem or the panel problem or something else entirely.

An error occurred while saving the comment Meanwhile, there is a great free script written by Sergey Osokin, ColorBlindSimulator: https://github.com/creold/illustrator-scripts/blob/master/md/Color.md#colorblindsimulator
It supports viewing the selection recolored according these impairments: protanopia, protanomaly, deuteranopia, deuteranomaly, tritanopia, tritanomaly, achromatopsia, achromatomalyAdminEgor Chistyakov (Admin, Adobe Illustrator) supported this idea ·
I understand what you mean :(
If you have a chance to record a video that demonstrates this behavior, it’d be especially useful for the team to feel the pain we are having. Please do, if you have a chance.
