An error occurred while saving the comment Ruphqoh, can you understand when this happens? Does it happen soon after you save a file, or copy something, or switch apps?
Does a crash reported dialog show up? Do you send these to the team? -

An error occurred while saving the comment I can’t agree on that.
These operations directly change the way the artwork is affected, hence they have to be displayed in History.
Lock an object, Select All, change fill to red — everything gets painted, but the locked object.
Undo all the steps, but imagine the Lock Selected gets skipped — now selecting all and changing the fill will result in the same result, even though you never locked anything this time. This means the SAME steps now can lead to different results, but DIFFERENT steps can mean the same result. This is not consistent and can lead to many user mistakes, far beyond anyone’s imagination. And while it’s NEVER needed for you, it’s something MAY rely on, since it’ normal, to be able to undo ANY operation.
But notice this request:
Ability to UNDO not only actual changes to objects but also selections
http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/34934953That’d be a more disruptive change, but it makes more sense — to me personally.
An error occurred while saving the comment I can’t agree on this that easy.
While it’s obviously cumbersome to have a ton of 'Hide', 'Show All', 'Layer Panel Options' commands in the history panel (especially that anonymous), this serve their job for some scripts and actions which work with a selection — a visible selection, based on these commands. If Illustrator stops treating these actions as viable steps, it will break these tools.Perhaps I misread it and you are to keep show/hide being recorded only for objects, but omit this for whole layers (in Layers) — well, this is gong to be even more confusing, why some of the eyes clicks do get recorded, and others don’t.
Still, I see the purpose of it. 'For the sake of consistency with Photoshop', for example — but these utilize show/hide for quite different purposes... this change is more impactful than it seems at a first glance, so until enough reasons are provided except for 'too many undo states', this most probably won’t happen.

An error occurred while saving the comment I can confirm this.
Here is a comparison between a rectangle (a live shape) and a triangle (drawn with a Pen, not a live shape).
What I can also notice, is that a second dimension is calculated wrong for bot, but for a tringle it gets almost instantly corrected in the field... while for the rectangle the wrong value stays in it until the next change of this wrong field.
Thanks, good catch.

Reinstalling the app solved the problem.
An error occurred while saving the comment Daniela, does it change if you open Preferences and toggle 'Use legacy "File New" interface' option?

An error occurred while saving the comment Can you share a test file, please, or at least a video of the behavior, with the Layers panel visible and expanded?
Do you get any sound notification when it fails?
Can you place objects in these spot by other means than just dragging, like with the Move dialog?
Please elaborate. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Tim, CValley FILTERiT plugin pack used to have a similar toolset, with their Lens tool.
Here, you can review these in this article: https://www.creative-aktuell.de/blog-details/illustrator-filterit-plugin-objekte-verzerren.html (scroll somewhere in the middle)
Alas, the company recently went silent... I’m afraid the revenue was just too small for them to sat afloat, or something even more sad happened. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Karine, what build do you use specifically?
This problem was recently fixed with 29.0.1 patch — do you still have this problem after this latest update? -

An error occurred while saving the comment And there is a discussion at forums about a script to embed selected images, using a loop: https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/javascript-to-embed-all-linked-images-into-the-ai-file-via-script-bug/td-p/10482321
This script can be installed into Scripts folder and added as a step into an action. Will do the trick.
Not a final solution, just a workaround, and the request is solid. Upvoting it.

An error occurred while saving the comment Don’t you worry! It’s better to have a duplicate to merge rather then keep the team not aware of a simplest thing (and we had a lot like these before UV!)
An error occurred while saving the comment Marc, please don’t make these as 'three-in-one' :)
UserVoice currently does not allow to split entries into more than two chunks (and just recently it didn’t allow this at all).I agree with most of these, but all three were previously requested and reported:
1. Allow adding Patterns and Gradient swatches to Color Groups — http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/31389250 — this is already done, and available to test in Beta, please try it and give feedback in comments
2. Make gradient swatches global — http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/33164479
Actually, they ARE secretly global (and it causes this problem: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/37224865), but it’s poorly exposed and not fully controllable.3. Allow gradient swatches to be added to CC library — http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/30997678
Well, Libraries is a great idea but it sinks in the inability of Adobe to get their shit together and make it truly cross-app with the respect to all the apps included. That’s why we need to vote and comment... but not by creating separate requests :DAgain — I really appreciate the activity! But having these as separate entries helps team to prioritize and pick things up. We don’t need more noise, we need more concentrated feedback to get noticed.
Even though these are connected, a granular approach helps. I prefer cross-linking entries.
Would you mind me adding these directly into the main message? -

1 voteAn error occurred while saving the comment Meghan, unfortunately, it’s hard to tell what goes wrong by looking at these screenshots.
Am I correct guessing that instead of a irregular shape of the scale you get a much smaller one, almost perfectly elliptical?
Alas, does not happen to me...What exact version of the app are you using? Did you install the latest 29.0.1 hotfix that addresses some problems with Pencil and other tools?
What Fidelity do you have picked in Blob Rush Tool Options dialog (press Enter to open it when the tool is picked or double-click the tool icon)?
How large is the shape you are trying to draw, in units of your choice? Does it behave anything better if you try to draw a larger shape? -

59 votesThe issue is believed to be fixed in the latest Beta build and is expected to be pushed into the Global Availability build at the end of July.
To ensure this indeed fixes the problem, please install the latest Beta build from CCD app and try to reproduce it, following the steps provided by Ton in a comment within the report.
Please reply back if Beta works for you or not.
An error occurred while saving the comment Mike, this is exactly the case. Files saved from the broken versions do not get automatically updated when these get read with a newer build — this behavior helps users to ahve the data exactly they designed it, in cases some reflows due to the core changes of text engine. In this case they can outline the result they liked at least, and have it consistent with the original intention. But in case of this error this behavior backfires. We have to make any change into a text to make it re-render — and this is what you do when assign a new color. It’d be enough to move them back and force at the same distance to trigger it.
Please try it, resave the document (in case it looks as intended), and see if the issue returns. Comment back in any case!An error occurred while saving the comment Does not happen for me, it seems... Perhaps it’s file or machine specific?
Please provide a test file and record a short video that demonstrates the steps. An error occurred while saving the comment Malia, can you please check this — can you spot any characters if you zoom out, far away?
There is a somewhat similar bug reported here — http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/46897540 — and I want to see if it’s the same one.An error occurred while saving the comment This issue has been already fixed in the latest Beta then.
I am merging this report with the larger one then. Thank you!An error occurred while saving the comment Does it happen for type-on-path text objects only, or for any other text object?
Does it happen for any font?An error occurred while saving the comment Yes, type-on-path got broken recently (https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/46897540) in the latest release, and this problem might be relevant and have the same cause.
Please check if you have the same problem.
The team is aware of it and is going to fix it soon.An error occurred while saving the comment Eli, yeah, it’s a known problem, and the team is going to fix it.
Thanks for the report. The workaround for now is to downgrade or to nudge the type on path sideways and back before outlining.

An error occurred while saving the comment Merliah, does this apply only to text on path, or do the plain point type text vanish as well?
Does it happen only for white texts or for other colors as well?
Can you please share a test file that behaves like this, so the team can check it?
Also — which Ai version are you using? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Bri, there were issues with the fidelity of the pencil, with it being to smooth compared to the previous versions (reported here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/48973289), and these were addressed very recently with the latest minor update 29.0.1
But you say 'skew compared to what I am drawing' and this makes me think you could mean something else.
I fail to see what is this based on your screenshots of agave drawn, for me it looks just fine, nothing is skewed.
What version are you using now? -

Angelo, there are two related requests on the topic:
1. File Sharing Notifications — to send and receive this by other automated means other than emails, http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/41877118
2. True Real-time file collaborative editing, with multiple users at once — http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/33149923
Which one do you think your request belongs to better?
