An error occurred while saving the comment An error occurred while saving the comment Violet C commentedI'm trying to modify a letterform. I divide the shape and create some space in one part. But I want to maintain the straightness/angle of the side I'm adjusting. As I move an anchor point, I'm not sure if the angle is maintained. No guide easily helps me do this.
Yes, I could duplicate the shape for a shape guide, and place it behind the shape being modified, give the shape guide a different color. But I will have to do this every time I modify a shape.
Maybe the guide already exists - pls. correct me if this is the case. Thank you.

Hi All,
We are not able to reproduce this issue at our end. Can you please let us know if you are still facing this issue? Also, is the Creative Cloud running fine on your machine when this issue happens?

An error occurred while saving the comment Violet C commentedThere seems to be a leading bug in the latest version. The leading automatically created is usually too spaced vertically, or creating a text area creates pseudo-Latin lines of text that are on top of each other.

An error occurred while saving the comment Violet C commentedI agree Hannah, I've looked for this for a long while now. The randomizer should be smarter, & should be available in 3D, too. I've tried using the Symbol Sprayer for this idea -- but it's not intelligent enough for the purpose. So basically a sample of 3D shapes for me, using the Symbol Sprayer, creates a 2D pattern. I've had to create my own random particles manually.

In CC 2019 (latest update 23.0.1), at 100% Zoom 1inch artwork would display at 1inch in physical (Print) size, on any display. If this doesn’t work right for screen design workflows, please use the checkbox Preferences > General > Display Print Size at 100% Zoom, to turn off the feature. Currently this feature works only on primary display, and there are plans of extending this to other attached displays.
Violet C supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Violet C commented131% is the exact preset I need in order to view the "real" size of the work I'm designing. At 131%, something I'm designing on letter size paper will ALSO appear letter size on my screen (I've used a ruler to measure). This exact preview percentage helps me determine general readability, & what people can still see given the work. I currently need to type 131 on the lower left each time I need to go back to this preview, & I wish there was a way for me to do it quicker, which ideally would be to be able to set this as a preset. Not sure if this feature already exists, but it would be nice to be able to add it.

In latest versions you can enable 'Select and Unlock objects on canvas ' option in Preferences > Selection & Anchor Display section. This will draw a small lock marker for those objects that are locked in your selection (they won’t be a part of selection box though) — click it to unlock an object. Please try it and comment back about if it works for you.
Another way to do it is to right-click on the locked object (with or without the option above being enabled) choose Unlock and pick an object to unlock from the list. If you want Ai to highlight these on canvas when browsing this menu, you can upvote this request.

A brush can be customized to maintain the chosen color in several ways, including None (to keep the original color set in the brush), Tints, Tints And Shades, and He Shift.
Read more about these here: https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/brushes.html
in 'Colorization options for scatter, art, and pattern brushes' section.

The current workaround for completely eliminating 'Recent' section in font list is to set '0' in Preferences > Type: Number of Recent Fonts.
But since it’s stupid, please add votes to make it work properly.
An error occurred while saving the comment Violet C commentedI have a few thousand fonts installed, a lot of designers probably do. I would like my last font remembered. By this I mean, after for example, I try what "AB" looks like, I then expect to see "AC" the next time I open that drop-down list. If "AB" doesn't look good, I want to see font "AD" in the drop-down next, so I can try that. Actually, I'm hoping to eventually see a "window" with fonts displaying what my text looks like. It's hard to choose the best font from a List-style view.

Yas. This. Illustrator has Smart Guides, I appreciate that... But mostly, I work visually. I'd rather see how far I'm straying from the original than paying attention to the dX/dY value.
I think a kind of 'ghost' shape of the original will help. History of the original shape would be appreciated, but just the last form of it as a guide would be great, too.
