173 votesThis issue is probably happening because the artboard dimensions are not appropriate for raster export (i.e. are in decimals).
If you make x and y values as the whole numbers in the transform panel (not in decimal), then the extra pixels will not be added to the exported image.That is the workaround, and it’s reported that it’s not always the case.
At the same time — Ai knows the size of artboards to be exported and yet it does not deliver the set sizes, which is not fair. The team is going to rethink the algorithm.

This most probably happens because of the 'Select and Unlock objects on canvas' option being enabled in Preferences > Selection & Anchor Display section.
It allows to 'select' and unlock all or chosen objects directly on canvas. If you wish to have this option split into two — one for unlock widgets and one for having an ability to 'select' locked objects — please upvote a corresponding feature request here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/48753221

I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 26.1.0 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

With the release of V29.0, Knife tool now supports smartguide.

Starting V28.7, you can now easily configure your own preset and save it for later use. We have also refreshed our preset library to include not just the A5 size but other missing presets for categories like social, branding etc.
Please let us know what do you think about them !

An error occurred while saving the comment I actually love the feature - but only when I'm working on web related documents. I would appreciate if the pixel perfect would be switched off by default for documents based on the print preset - and switched on by default for documents based on the web / mobile preset.

Actually the unlock function on the canvas would be interesting - but the fact that it doesn't allow me to grab objects below makes it compeletly useless.
