Illustrator today has Cut, Copy, Paste and other Paste variants in the context menu.
However, Lock and Hide are missing still. Please continue voting and commenting if you need these items.

It’s dangerous to call things Smart... When they behave dumb, the name sound like an insult. Sadly, this is the case.
Please provide more specific cases, with video proofs, ask you colleagues to share and vote, to move this further. This is the way to force changes to things that are broken — be vocal and persistent. Thank you all and let’s hope we get heard.
An error occurred while saving the comment nicky commented@OliverMalms all true, also because the competition is on the wind ... Affinity for negligible cost certainly has better functions (which work better), it also has many shortcomings, but as also illustrators, if we are used to the lack of illustrator we can do it also for those of Affinity, maybe one day, soon they also implement the deficiencies ... then it will be death for Ai ...
An error occurred while saving the comment nicky commentedwell, I believe that at the threshold of the year 2022, Illustrator is not yet able to return drawings built with precision, there is always a tolerance of error that is inadmissible for a vector drawing software.
The mistake can stay there as long as you create artistic illustrations, but think of all those who build web interfaces, pixel icons, die-cut paths for packaging with illustrator !!!
To be honest, for jobs like packaging dies I was much more precise with Macromedia Freehand! He had some fantastic point or track alignments, he was never wrong. And it's funny, because it is a very old software, with so many bugs, Adobe has acquired the Freehand license but cabbage not even the cunning of taking things that worked well in freehand and transporting them by enhancing them in illustrator?
To think that it is not an illustrator who is not able to do it, but I think they make it purposely inefficient, suffice it to say that with smart graphics plug-ins you get very powerful snaps and alignments, perhaps they use a magnet or a much more powerful glue !!!
Even Affinity's competition works better on snaps!
So dear ADOBE, is there anything you are not telling us? Why do others make their and your software work better and YOU the undisputed leader of the graphics market are not able to upgrade your weapons?
These are thoughts that go through your head ... that's allPS: often even with the zoom at maximum 64000% you can't even snap precisely between your curves ... what's the point of zooming so high at 64.000% if you can't even be precise? (affinity makes it even higher 3715551169.5%))

An error occurred while saving the comment nicky commentedIt is really amazing how "Illustrator" the leading software in vector drawing (so they say), it lacks in basic functions, therefore in precision and simplification in drawing.
All vector graphics software have better management of point snaps, path snaps etc. (freehand 8, coreldraw, inkscape, Affinity Designer), NO Illustrator NO!We should think about this!

Do you have Smart Guides turned on?
Just turn it off and Ai won’t snap handles to paths.nicky supported this idea · -

Hi everyone! Thank you for your feedback so far.
As we make progress, we wanted to hear your thoughts regarding the intended functionality of this solution. We are sharing two scenarios forproposed behavior of this functionality, please review these and let us know your feedback:
Scenario #1: The area calculation will only consider the path geometry of an object and not include the stroke weight as part of the computed area. To calculate the area of the stroke, the object can be Expanded so that a separate compound path is created for the stroke.
Scenario #2: Appearance-altering effects (e.g., Drop Shadows, Gaussian Blurs) that do not modify the underlying path geometry will not influence the area calculation. We will continue to calculate the area of the actual closed path.
We have also attached a visual reference for these scenarios to this post. Please let us know your thoughts!

An error occurred while saving the comment nicky commentedYou really should improve and snap and alignments. Really disappointing for a geometric vector design program. Consider that other software like Corel Draw, Affinity Design, the good old freehand this thing works much better, even free software Inkscape works better.
Beyond "align to point" you should also make align, and intercept alone the curvature of the vectors, as "hook to object" of freehand. If external plug-ins like those of the Institute or other external scripts are able to implement these functions, to the great I would say, I wonder why mom never ADOBE can not? Do not you want to do it? can not do it? where is the problem? or does not want to rage against Astute??
it is shameful for a software leader in the field as Illustrator that boasts 30 years, in my opinion NOT honored service that pity of many gaps like this and also slowdowns and a lot of machines in working. Freehand was very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very well.An error occurred while saving the comment nicky commentedyou really should improve and snap and alignments. Finally! In the latest Beta 28.8.0.37 the Knife tool now works with Smart Guides.
Remember that holding Opt/Alt makes the Knife cut in straight lines.
Please test it and see if it works for you.

An error occurred while saving the comment nicky commentedImproving the performance, the Zoom (never enough), the precision of the snap, snap to curves and paths, to be a vector drawing software is rather inaccurate.
Couldn't we add all the vector parts to INDESIGN and throw Illustrator? We will eliminate steps and awkward software like AI.
