Latest versions of Illustrator have an exact solution for that.
Open Align panel, and enable Align to Glyph Bounds option in the panel’s menu, for point or area text or both.
The bounding box will remain the same, but the text will now align to and by its actual bounds, just like you want.

An error occurred while saving the comment nicky commentedthe illustrator and indesign dropper work differently, one the opposite of the other.
I think that indesign is more functional, especially for copying text styles and applying them to multiple words ... If possible, adjust the dropper function that works like in indesign.nicky supported this idea · -

We are working towards giving preference to Photoshop for editing linked images, if Ps is installed. This may mean the label showing as ‘Edit on Photoshop’ when an linked image is selected. The change does not affect OS level file type associations.

is there an easy way to apply a series of effects by copying the settings from one element and applying them in another?
Could you simplify this step without having to create an object style?
