I have no words, but this solution is missing again form both the latest Beta and the GA. There is no new information on it. As soon as anything gets known — the status will be updated again. I am so sorry.
An error occurred while saving the comment An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedJust tested 29.1 40 and I opened a document that had several of the same link placed. I selected them. went to relink. and there was no options to replace all.. I had to still select the link multiple times.. as the popup re-appeared. is version 29.1 40 newer or older then 29.1.0.2
maybe im missing something. An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedI like the functionality. much better. I think the UI could be spread out horizontally but this looks great to me
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commented"The team confirms this is no longer available in Beta 29.0.0.38 and is going to be revisited in the next one."
this is Hilarious.. is this team work?.. sounds like everyone is working individually and not communicating. Adobe you can do better. I believe in you!

An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedI have used that technique before and often it works but sometimes you only know the length of something thats on an angle. for example a Triangle or a Awning or something angular where you know the length but otherwise dont know the width or height
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commented+1 for being able to adjust proportions of image if you add multiple lines.. if would distort the image via width, height, angle, perspective. (as an option)
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedOften I need to place a photo of something and scale it to a certain size based on the content of the photo. For example. I place an photo of the side of a truck. And I know the truck is 250 inches wide. But the photo shows also the background.. and the image comes in at 10 inches. I want to be able to draw a line from one point on the image to another, and then I would select the line and the image and hit a button and a pop up dialog box would ask how long that line should be. And then it would scale the photo until that line matches the number Ii entered in inches or whatever unit was being used. This would also be great if used on an angle. It would really help to get things to scale quickly.

Happy to announce that we have introduced 'Preview Missing Fonts' functionality to improve your experience when working with files that contain unavailable fonts.
If you open a file with missing fonts, Illustrator will now render the text correctly on the artboard in Preview Mode, even if the fonts are not installed on your system. This ensures the files appear as intended without requiring immediate font installation.
How does it work?
1. When you open a file with missing fonts, the Missing Fonts Window will appear, listing fonts that are in Preview Only Mode.
2. Close the Missing Fonts Window to view the text rendered accurately on the artboard.
3. You can optionally select the text, go to Objects -> Expand… to convert the text to outlines.
4. The text in Preview Mode is not editable. If you attempt to edit the text in Preview Mode, a warning will appear, notifying…

https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-desktop-feature-requests/suggestions/31840996-convert-text-to-outlines-on-openAn error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedHello, what is the current status on this feature. Open file as curves. currently the work around of flattening transparency and selecting outline text generally works.. would be nice if this also worked on documents with several pages. perhaps as a initial release just add the same function upon opening. get the basic functionality in there. before we get elaborate with edge cases
Anonymous supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedIf you open a PDF and it shows the proper font. but you open it in illustrator and it cries that font isnt available. but font data is in the PDF. would be nice to have an option to Import Text as Curves using PDF font data

An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedThanks for sharing that script and resource page,. very helpful.
would also be great if Adobe offered illustrator scripts in its marketplace of plugins. and a better built in script manager, to run common scripts easier.. similar to how photoshop handles actionsAnonymous shared this idea · -

Starting from the February 2024 release, version 28.3, this option is no longer enabled by default for new documents. If you had hyphenation enabled in an existing document, Ai will respect this.

The solution is pushed into Global Availability build 28.6.
PDF is now available as type in File > Export > Export As dialog.
However, File > Adobe PDF Presets menu, similar to one InDesign has, to allow even quicker export, is absent still.
If you want to have it, please upvote this new request here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/48670088

We have done further updates to Dimension tool with recently released version - 28.3
You can create and use your custom scale for dimension, hide or show units on dimensions and dimensions are now sticky to the object - they transform as well when you transform the object.
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedNeed to be able to select two points and add a dimension. Or select a line segment. Radius or diameter of a circle/arc
Length of path, area of a shape.
Set dimension unit and scaling 1:2 etc, text size. Automatically adjust if object scale changes

This is absolutely ridiculous. I can't even begin to understand what's happening here. It's like the left hand is not just unaware of the right hand, but they’re both acting like they exist in entirely different realities. Adobe’s miscommunication clearly goes deeper than anyone thought possible. And honestly, I don’t blame the developers—they're just working with whatever nonsense they’re being fed—but management? They've completely lost the plot. Their priorities are so out of whack, it's a joke. I'm not using Illustrator to play around with some pointless AI drawing cute little birds. I need it to do my job, to actually reduce the mind-numbing monotony of tedious tasks, not add to it with unnecessary fluff. It’s like they’ve forgotten that this is supposed to be a professional tool, not a toy for showing off whatever half-baked AI features they think will impress people
