Please make Mirror easier to use
The Mirror tool is such a hassle to use and get it working. People, can you please make it an easy toggle to turn off and on, that you can use right away, similar to programs like Procreate and Clip Studio Paint?

Scaling is messed up for the effect tab and font tab
The effects tab won’t scale to a larger size like 200% when on a small drawing display, the font tab also has problem with not shrinking down and stays too large clipping into the secondary screen. Can you please fix these two things?

Custom Keyboard Shortcuts dialog should highlight changes from defaults
This is such a little thing, but I would love to scroll through my list of keyboard shortcuts and see an indication next to ones I've changed to custom, that are different from the default.

Color swatch mapping with presets for print production
I made this script using ChatGPT, it does mostly everything I need, but I ran into the issue that the option "Merge Swatches" in the Swatches panel, cannot be used/accessed with JavaScript.
I work as Prepress designer and I have to constantly change spot colors to match the swatches that the print operators need to match the colors the client need (Pantone match or paint swatches). Most of these colors are saved in an .ASE file and I have to manually merge them multiple times.

Avoid text converted to outlines when opening PDF

Currently Adobe Illustrator automatically and arbitrarily converts text parts to outlines, making these parts not editable nor selectable.
It's not related to fonts, because that font is on my computer, and, other text parts that has exactly the same font are editable and not converted.
It's just because of the code point. For example, in term
∀𝑥, the ∀ (U+2200) is editable and 𝑥 (U+1D465) is converted to outline. I really dislike this arbitrary behaviour. If compatibility is considered critical, the program should at least give an option to allow us the users to…1 vote -

"Find Overset Text" Function
The overset text [+] icon can be easily overlooked in a busy document.
There needs to be a way to cycle through text boxes with overset text.
The way the Find/Replace Font dialogue cycles through and focuses on results would be acceptable.
These would be the minimum required buttons.

Adjust colors to Black/White with a Threshold
I am missing an easy way to convert illustrator selections to pure black and white (not grayscale).

Groups Created from Outlined Text Should Inherit Text Object Names
When converting a text object to outlines, the resulting group is automatically given the default group name, which I find inappropriate. It would be better if the group inherited the original text object’s name.
In cases where the user has not assigned a custom name to the text object, and Illustrator displays the actual text content as the object’s name in the UI, that same text content should also be used as the name of the new group after outlining.

Swap values in Transform / Move
Surprised this software still doesn't have a simple toggle arrow button in it's Transform menus.
Like, swiping values between the Horizontal and Vertical planes with the Move tool.

'Place' into an Illustrator document, I would like to see a feature to add ALL the pages of a PDF and not one page at a time
When using 'Place' to add a file into an Illustrator document, intead of just having the ability to add one page at a time, I would like to see a button to add multiple pages, or ALL the pages in the window.

Display 'Save' in those History steps which were followed by saving, as Photoshop does it
It can be hard to navigate History, and when we do, we often need to see specific points of it.
Save operations are important turning points, and seeing 'Save' added to those operations that happened right before saving happened works great... in Photoshop, but not in Illustrator. Please add these.4 votes -
Icon File Format
I use Illustrator for a wide variety of things, and it recently came to my attention that you cannot save Icon Files directly from Illustrator. I believe this should be something Illustrator can do and not have to run to a web converter to get the file format I need. We need the option to save a file as either all or at least some of these options: .ico, .icl, .exe, .dll.
SVG and PNG just aren't enough for my needs.

Scale elements based on a sub-element
Take a grouped object, double click it to get the inside the group. Select a single element inside that group and scale it to 5 inches wide. The rest of the group scales in proportion to the select object and not as a whole.

2 finger tap undo on desktop touch interface
I have a touch screen laptop and I like using Fresco but struggle to use the touch interface in Illustrator and Photoshop because gestures don't work as expected. I thought at some point you all would add 2 finger tap to undo and 3 finger tap to redo as well as some other more common gestures. Is this possible? If so when can we expect this?

Default Sort
Allow users to define what they want to see on the home page, and allow defaults to that definition to be saved. For example, in Version 29, when I open the program, it defaults to "Your Files" and they are sorted by "Name". Whenever I open the program, that's what shows. It's perfect for me. In Version 30, now that doesn't work. It opens to "Recent Files" and then I have to click "your Files" or "View All Files" for that to show.
