  1. Able to specify triangle inner angles

    Would it be possible to have an 'advanced' triangle dialogue box where you can specify the angles?. I often need to use this for creating conical cutter guides – I know I can use the rotate tool and use strokes, but feels like it could be much easier as it's very long-winded.

  3. Motor de texto vertical

    I would like it to be possible to edit the text in vertical format, I explain.

    I have a text in horizontal format which I can modify in every possible way, but I am working on a project that uses a custom typography and requires vertical writing, the problem is that when changing to vertical format the writing direction changes from right to left.

    the idea is that the reader can read from top to bottom, but in the same direction from left to right.

  4. All Inputs / Panels Follow Dimension Tool Scale

    I want to be able to create and edit all of my art in scale.
    Example
    I would like to be able to make a 2" rectangle in 1:2 scale and have it illustrator draw me a 1" square on the page.
    This would be very powerful for things when expanded to the object info box to get area and path dimensions, being able to make a font 3' tall in the character panel.

  5. Please add a way for the Pencil tool to display the edge of the drawn line when needed with Live Feedback enabled

    If we enable Live Preview but have no stroke or fill chosen, drawing on canvas shows nothing. Very useful.
    What if in this case you make the edge line visible instead, the one we see when we disable Live Preview? 'Graceful degradation' in a sense — take a look at the GIF attached.
    It’s even more complicated than this. Imaging white stroke on white canvas :) Formally it’s a color, but practically...
    Having an option to have edge always visible can help, but it’d be another option...

  6. A Node View mode for the Appearance Palette, and a complete revamp of what it can do.

    I feel like I have a lot of things I want changed about the Appearance palette that cannot be done in the form of a one-dimensional list of effects.

    I'd like to suggest something inspired by the "node view" in programs like Blender or Toon Boom or Unreal. Give me a 2d canvas upon which I can arrange strokes, fills, and effects, and let me plug them into each other in complex ways.   7. Retain original, unexpanded art for pattern swatches.

    "This pattern contains active content (symbols, effects, etc, it's a long list) that must be expanded to create a swatch. If you edit the pattern again, the expanded content will no longer be active."

    There's a lot of clever, well-paid people at Adobe. I bet someone there can figure out how to store the original pattern art along with the expanded pattern art, and edit the former rather than the latter when I double-click on the pattern swatch. I have workarounds for this but they are tedious and annoying ones.

  8. I would love to see a "temporary canvas" or "temporary file" feature added to illustrator

    I often find myself creating temporary documents that I end up deleting after doing whatever I need to do in Illustrator before bringing over to InDesign or some other application. It'd be so nice to start a "Quick Canvas" or something that has the full functionality of Illustrator, but it instead acts as a notepad that can either auto-save to the cloud or just delete itself after using.

  9. Toggling left click mode

    Can we have a toggle feature that controls left-click on and off by just clicking once for activation and once again for deactivation? I think it would be a cool idea to add this as an option because it would allow a default trackpad to be a more accessible tool for longer drawing projects (ie. blob brush work) without exhausting your fingers. Makes the overall program more accessible, too. I would rather be clicking once than holding and dragging my finger on the trackpad. I got the idea from video games that have toggle buttons for lots of monotonous tasks.

  10. Align By and Align To separate per object aligned

    Current alignment in Illustrator is barely sufficient. I should be able to align any object or path by any point to any object or path by any point.

    Perhaps if you created an alignment tool that allows us to select not only the alignment objects, but the points for each object to align by then your alignment methods would be so much more robust.

    Using the align tool would create a list of alignment participants on a slide-out panel. When selecting an element to align, you would pick from one of the 9 reference points or click anywhere on the…

  11. Double-click with Direct Selection to enter Isolation mode.

    You can only enter Isolation mode by double-clicking with the Selection tool. Why doesn't the Direct Selection tool work for this? Or the Group Selection tool, for that matter? Was there ever even an explicit design decision made that only the Selection tool should be able to do this?

    I do the vast majority of my selecting with the Direct Selection tool, and about 50% of the time when I want to isolate something I just try double-clicking on it with the arrow-shaped tool I'm currently using, and grumble because it doesn't work, and hit the hotkey for the unloved…

  12. Allow more modeling options for 3D extrusions

    Give us more extrusion options. It's crazy that you can make a cylinder, but no possible way to make cuts through. I have attached examples to where I made the type of structure I'd need in Blender. In AI you can create a cylinder but no way to make holes through the structure. You can do this with an extruded rectangle but not cylindrical objects.

  14. Support wildcard characters in Find & Replace

    My only wish for the text Find & Replace would be able to use wildcard characters. That was such a great option in the TexEdit (not TextEdit) word processor and I have yet to find something similar for the Mac.

  15. Do not select both the clipping mask and the clipped contents with Select All while in isolation

    When we isolate a clipping group, it’s like we are jumping in a whole in a canvas and start dealing with what’s behind it. Whatever we move while inside isolated, would be visible through the hole.

    So when we say Select All while being isolated, we usually don’t mean 'Select the stuff behind the hole and the hole itself' — it’s about clipped content only. Otherwise why isolate in the first place?

  16. Escape should cancel an execution of a script / plugin

    If we run a script or a plugin operation and the execution of it takes a long time, there is no real way to abort it other than killing the whole Ai process completely (since there is no dedicated one). This can loose us data, and saving each time before running a script or a plugin is paranoid and is hardly a solution.

    We need to be able to hit Escape when a script or a plugin makes Ai freeze and expect for it to be stopped, perhaps with a confirmation.

  17. Allow to show contents (unfurl) of compound paths in Layers

    Illustrator treats a compound path as a single entity, no matter how many singular paths it has inside.

    Layers panel does not display '>' next to the name of it, and does not allow to unfurl the item to see what it has inside.

    It makes sense in a way, since the order of items does not matter (it is for a Compound Shapes, where it matters a lot, with e.g. 'Minus Front').

  18. Having '.2' at the end of a filename makes Save As dialog drop actual file type when saving

    I need to save multiple Files withe Pos.1, Pos.2, Pos.3 etc.. Every time i want to save a file with the filename ".2" at the end wil not save the file.. In the Explorer will be the file but in a unreadable file type.

  20. More fields to Smart Guides angles

    Have you ever required to customize Illustrator more, well, this is a feature that is here a long time ago and it would be nice to have more options: In Preferences > Smart Guides, we should have more options to add custom angles, since six fields are falling short. Is this doable?
