  2. Harmonizing Adobe Illustrator App with Website Icons and Selection Tools

    If Adobe Illustrator on the app matched the website, it'd be easier to get the hang of things. Take a cue from Affinity Designer—having a similar layout on the app as the website makes learning smoother. Imagine being on your iPad while the instructor's on the website, but it all looks and works the same way. That kind of consistency, including toggles and tool names, would be a real plus for the Illustrator app.

    I cannot correctly open the same files that were made a couple of days ago.
    When opening, a window appears: the file was made in a NEWER version. Import this file? Part of the data may be lost

  5. Let the Recolor / Generative Recolor work in the Swatches Palette

    Please let those tools works on Groups of Swatches too.
    This comes in handy to make sets of colours with e.g. the same Hue, but a different Saturation.

  6. Please improve the functionality of the files when multiple artboards are designed and the design is complex in nature.

    Illustrator is hanging or freezing when complex path designs are being designed or multiple dartboards are designed in a single file.
    I am using a MacBook Pro M2 Chip which is known for its processing and still facing so much issues with heavy and complex files.

    Now the Save and Save As are creating an SVG with
    .st0{font-family:'ArialMT';}
    A better solution is
    .st0{font-family:'ArialMT',’Arial’;}

    Like it is in the export for screens

  9. Dynamic Connector Symbols

    Connect two objects with a third, dynamic symbol.

    A new class of Symbol that can be assigned properties of Rotate, Extend, Scale etc. and a new class of Group called an Assembly.

    e.g 1. A bullet point and a number in a circle can be connected by a symbol set with the properties of Radial Rotate and Extend, so the when either the bullet or the number are moved the connector symbol adjusts its length to remain anchored to the centre of the other two objects.

    e.g. 2 A graphic is connected to create an Assembly of two or more…

  10. Share to Review: Attach files to comments, Zoom more than 100%

    Attach file to comment. Typically the client add in quick sketches, reference images, new logo files and so on and it would be super helpful if they could attach those files to the comment in review mode to avoid having to still use e-mail or similar services to get quick assets between us and them.

    Deeper zoom function: The pdf can only be zoomed in to 100% of the artboard setting, so some details can't be seen. Infinite zoom would be ideal.

    When choosing ”New from Template...” from ”File” -menu Illustrator 2024 do not open templates from ”Cool Extras” -folder as a default anymore.

  12. Prevent Conversion of Outlined Text to Editable Text

    The Retype convert to live type feature makes it too easy for clients, vendors, and 3rd parties to convert uneditable work into editable work. It's a nice tool for your own work, but it is potentially bad for business.

    Please add permissions features that allow us to control whether or not our files (PDF/AI) can be manipulated in this way by others or reconsider rolling out the Retype conversion feature.

    Please DO NOT roll out the Retype convert outline to live type feature unless this protection is added to illustrator.

    I realize there are probably a bunch of ways around…

  13. Issue transferring dwg file to Temp folder

    Is there any possibility in Ai, when we export or run the script on the Ai file and we get only dwg file without that png (bitmap image) so that we can add only dwg file in Temp folder and it will get convert into .svg file.

  15. Xray mode in Adobe Illustrator

    There should be an Xray mode in Adobe Illustrator similar to what we have in Blender 3D.

    When toggled on from a keyboard shortcut, this should allow the user to temporarily view all the objects (Paths, including appearances) to be slightly transparent and allow the user to select objects that are behind each other or at the bottom of the stacking order.

    The outline view is good but not enough. I still can't select paths behind each other and don't show appearances so can't actually see what I'm selecting if artwork has similar shapes stacking there.

  16. [Script HELP] Import file to artboards and flatten transparency

    Hi, I'm looking for a script that can IMPORT files (AI, PDF, EPS) by inserting these files, or multipage PDFs, onto multiple illustrator tables in a connected way.
    Then let me select eg. from table 1 to 5 (of 200) and apply a preset registered in the CONVERT TRANSPARENCY panel.

    Can someone help me?

  17. stroke width tool more defined errors with conflicting properties.

    There are several things that do not allow the use of the "stroke width tool", like brushes, or having the stroke non aligned to the center... but right now the tool gives no hint about what is the issue, and why is not working.
    What about giving you a more specific error, and showing the option to dissable this conflicting property. (if you cannot work around the stroke width in this circumstances.)

  18. Reduce / Extend path effect

    Like in After Effects, it would be very useful to have an effect or an option in the Stroke panel like the "reduce path" animation option to draw more complex strokes (instead of duplicate them), like in the RubberHose plug-in. Could be useful to draw characters or set up files to export to AE.

  19. Illustrator Panel keeps resizing its width when changing to another tabbed panel.

    Illustrator Panel keeps resizing its width when changing to another tabbed panel, unlike in Photoshop. Can't you make this stop? It's been around for years. Very irritating. I usually don't put any panels underneath my Layer Panel so there is nothing there to keep it from resizing. Why do we have to put up with this? Photoshop interface is more relaxing. Why can't it be the same for Illustrator?

  20. Dropdown menu for alignment to specific artboards

    I work with multiple artboards files every day and I constantly use the align tool to align to what I think is the artboard I have highlighted, only for it to jump to a different board. It would be awesome if you could click and hold for a menu to dropdown and then select the artboard to align that item to.
