Add a way to resize an exported image with Export As method to a specific size, like Save for Web can
In the old "Save for Web" function (please keep it!) it was possible to resize "on the fly" the destination image (EG my file is 8000 px but I can save an exported version of 800 without opening and resizing afterwards)
In the "Export as.." function none of this is possible.3 votes -
Export Workspaces
It would be great to be able to EXPORT WORKSPACES so as to keep a backup copy of them.

Illustrator desktop windows

Improved text editing while within an envelope
Currently if you want to edit text that's inside an envelope, depending on how warped it is, it can be difficult to edit the text directly. The workaround is to 'release' the envelope in the 'Envelope Distort' menu, edit the text, then reapply the text to the envelope using 'Make with top object'. Perhaps improve the text editing to match the shape and size of the envelope or have a popup window that displays the text in normal format and edit it that way.
In my example, the black boxes is the original text but editing has proved difficult.3 votes -
Puppet Warp tool should be able to affect meshes.
I could have pushed this object around in seconds if the Puppet Warp tool worked on meshes. Instead I have to laboriously grab and move one point at a time to make the distortion meshes in this glass match up with the body of it.
Please remedy this so that the next time I try to use the Puppet Warp tool to push stuff around that happens to contain a distortion mesh, I don't get this error.
If there's any other type of object that will spawn a "The Puppet Warp tool does not support this type of object" error then please include fixing that in the scope of this request, as well. I feel like the only kind of object that I would be okay with seeing that error for is a bitmap image. Everything else should be puppetwarpable.

Files should remember proof setup
Every time I open my files I'm having to force Illustrator back to proof as Monitor RGB. It keeps defaulting to Working CMYK which is no use on an RGB file.
It would be great if files retained proof settings.

アートボードごとに、「スクリーン用に書き出す」際のファイル形式を設定、保存ができるようにしてほしい / Allow to set format per asset/artboard in Export for Screens

Make a way to call the Color Picker dialog for change color of a gradient stop
The gradient tool is not very intuitive, and the color selection interface has a limited range, making it difficult to accurately pick the desired colors. Usually, I can only use color codes to specify them. I think there is a lot of room for improvements.

Smart Guides: prioritize artboards, respect logical hierarchy
This situation has been frustrating for many, many years:
I'm zoomed out to a level that makes it tricky for AI to understand what I want Smart Guides to snap to.
There are many elements in my doc that could be desired for that snapping, but they are a mix of paths, compound paths, placed media, and artboards. Many of these things are FAR away from the elements I'm trying to snap.
AI either doesn't have any perceived hierarchy or it prioritizes snapping in an obscure way, and it will attempt to snap to those far away things instead of A) things nearby, or B) art boards, which are objectively the most important/obvious thing to be snapping to (that is, if it's a 50/50 choice).
The desired behavior (IMO) would be for AI to choose snapping based on clear criteria, such as:
- Closest artboard corner
- Closest artboard edge
- Closest group or compound path
- Closest element inside a group or compound path
- Closest placed media
...etcetera. The above is just a "for instance," but you get the logic — when in doubt, choose the highest thing in the hierarchy, and that hierarchy starts with artboards since those are much more substantial than floating elements and because most designers align things to those more than they do other elements.

Increase size of anchor points / handles for curvature tool
anchor points / handles for curvature tool is too small for me. It would be better if I can change size like pen tool anchor points / handles size

Make Pantone color swatches available
Sort out the stupidity of not having all the Pantone swatches available, to use as it used to be. I don't know what you guys are playing at with Pantone but their color books are industry standard in design and print. More importantly and they are NEEDED in order to work consistently. You need to bring them back what you currently have is next to useless. I am having to make new swatches and cross reference them with Pantone connect and save them, it's stupid.

Share and Review for Illustrator (email notification designation)
Hi Adobe team,
I Co-own and Creative Direct at a small design agency of about 12 people. Myself and my design team are loving the Share and Review feature as it is saving us so much time in our presentation prep on client work. There is one thing though that would make our lives even better (and the life of our project manager). We would love for there to be a feature where you can designate where the notification emails go to when comments are made. Currently it goes to the person who generated the link (usually a designer), or the client has to directly tag someone who is on the share file to receiver the email (good luck training them to do so lol). Now, our PM is generally handling getting feedback and updates from clients into our Asana making it so design team does not have to bounce all over from emails, to asana, to designs again...and can just focus on what we do best...designing. So by having a setting where, regardless of who generated the link, it funnels to our PM's email she could constantly have real time updates and better manage the progression of the project. Thank you again for implementing the share feature, and I hope maybe this additional feature someday makes it way into a build :)

Invite to edit functionality
On a previous version of Adobe Illustrator, anyone with access to the aic file could invite new members to the document. There has since been an update where only the owner of the file can share the file to new people. Is it possible to implement an 'admin' or 'manger' to each file. Therefore the owner of the document can provide admin rights to other colloborates of the document. Anyone with admin access could then share the aic file.

Hold Key to Zoom, like in Sketch
I need a functionality like in Sketch app to Zoom In / Out canvas quickly and smoothly!
So, just to hold Command key and I can smoothly and quickly do this.
This should be common for macOS art apps…I’m not using trackpad, but I’m using Magic Mouse 2, so I can always pan canvas using gestures on a mouse with one finger, but I don't have a scroll wheel and to Zoom I’d need just to hold a Command key, like in Sketch! That's it.
Attached example video of how it works perfectly in Sketch.

OFFICIAL ONLINE USER MANUAL that we can easily search by tool or command name
We still need a forum for complex questions like ‘how to…’, but the current community is TERRIBLE at answering ‘what is’… You need to stop pushing this responsibility of explaining features to users and start making an OFFICIAL guide where we can easily search what each tool or action like 'expand appearance' actually mean and their nuances explained with pictures. Please make this ONLINE and always updated!!! Your old pdf manual actually does this quite well.
I am sick of watching outdated tutorials or WAITING for a response from users who might be equally outdated or not knowing what they're talking about!
You currently only have some explanation on hover for the basic tools but not for anything else. The tutorials in the community are so basic, but it takes forever just for me to find out what a simple command like 'object > expand' does in the community...
You should explain what every action means in your software, its nuances and limits, and why it grays out instead of making us guess or do testing!!!
If I just search ‘what does expand do?’ in the forum none will tell me right away what 'object > expand' does. I find i funny that if I google this your community posts never show up. It's always third party tutorial websites that come up and it’s usually a long read to find what a single command does... You’re lacking a ‘WHAT IS [command name /tool name]’ section which is really the basics of any appliance manual. If you have a button on a machine, you need to explain what each button means or does and not just how to do something with the machine…

Provide an accurate information about the position for a guide while dragging from ruler
Dragging a Guide from the rulers is not very accurate. Please add a way to see the exact position of the guide (preferably as an overlay near the guide, but in the Ai ecosystem maybe in the Info panel). And please let it snap to exact values when pressing Shift.

Option to show only the actual missing fonts in missing fonts list
Please provide an option to show only the missing fonts in the top half of the missing fonts dialog box. If only the missing fonts were visible we wouldn't have to constantly scroll up and down the missing fonts list to find the yellow triangle.
Option only, because it is useful to see all the fonts that are used in a file...3 votes -
Save the Export Path to with Export for Screens Presets
Please, SAVE the "Export To:" path with the Export Preset.
I don't want to set my Export Path in Export for Screen every f*ing time I restart Illustrator.
I was hoping that Export Presets would have fixed this annoyance, but it didn't help at all.
It amazes me how impossible it seems for Adobe to get these simple things work like they should.
