Add dropdown with blending modes to transparency block in Properties panel
Please add a dropdown with blending mode to transparency properties panel. This will make it easier to see what transparency mode is applied to an object by just having it selected. It will also make it slightly quicker to change transparency modes on objects. See attached image for a mockup.

Changing color of selected letters
It is very difficult to change the color of a selected letters in a text if you can not see the color as it is because it is inverted when they are selected. So you are changing the color but you don't know the real appearence, , for that you have to deselect the text each time. Can this be fixed for a future version? thank you

Temporarily disable selection handles while changing color
When I'm changing an object's color, its selection outline and other debris like "live corner" markers get in the way of previewing the color change.
I usually have to deselect the object to see if the change "worked" with the rest of my design. It's a tedious workflow.
Illustrator should temporarily turn off these markers while I'm changing the color.
Every other drawing app does this.

Have the Blob Brush Options Panel remain open as you work
It would be great if the Blob Brush Options Panel would remain open while in use, so the stroke angle and brush shape could be changed on the fly while painting. :D

Make Layers Panel Options global (not per document) and keep it after relaunch
The default row size is far too small on a 5K screen. I set my row size to be at least 50px, but I have to do this every time I start a new doc. It would be nice if defaults could be set in preferences.

Astute Graphics Features to adobe illustrator
It'll be cool if Adobe will make Astute graphics features to be a out of the box feature of adobe illustrator on the next release.

A way to resize text using the baseline of the text as an anchor point.
So that's easier to match the font size of another font, or even worse, a rasterized font.

Allow items in libraries to exist in multiple groups or allow items to be tagged and filtered by tag.
At the moment, items in a CC Library can be ungrouped, or added to a single group. Often though (certainly the way I use them), items may belong to multiple groups. If for example I have an icon that represents the status of something but also has a person in, it could possibly exist in both the "people" and "statuses" groups.
It would make cataloging items much easier especially in larger libraries.
Either that or tagging, so each item could be tagged potentially multiple times so that I could then filter by tag?
Cheers

Ability to create Layer masks in Ai that can be used in Ae
I would like to have the ability to create masks in Illustrator that carry over to Ae. It would make the process much faster and more streamlines to build it all in illustrator before I transfer over to Ae for animation.

Disable Snap to Path
Can someone please explain to me why you can turn off "snap to grid", "snap to pixel", and "snap to point" off, but you can't turn "snap to path" off. It used to be you could just easily turn off "snap", which would turn all forms of snap off. Now, when I'm trying to adjust points on a path, the anchor handles still snap to path. The only way to get it to not snap to path is to zoom very close in. This is problematic when you can't see your entire curve, because you're zoomed in, and you can't adjust your curve, when zoomed out, because it keeps snapping to itself.

Just turn it off and Ai won’t snap handles to paths. -
Separations Preview Panel has the same layout as Swatch Panel
When using Separations Preview it would be very beneficial to have the colour list arranged in the same order, format and groups as the Swatches Panel.
This could allow grouped colours to be turned on or off in groups and matching the list order would make the whole thing more logical.

Fix Find & Replace to keep formating of font being changed
Find & Replace has never worked correctly and still doesnt. If I do a find and replace Illustrator will change the formatting of the text being replaced to the formatting nearest to it, it doesnt keep the formatting of the characters being changed if they are different than the characters either side of it within the same text block.

Drawing custom perspective grids
Most projects don't start in Illustrator or need at least some kind of reference to draw around - for example a product picture or rough sketch. So in most cases Adobe's perspective tool in Ai is absolutely useless. There is simply no way to always find the right perspective in your reference with that tool!
Many professionals draw custom grids with the help of an odd star with very long and thin end points. They draw one, two or three stars depending on how many vanishing points they have. This is a super old and powerful technique of illustrators and anime artists - but there is no such thing in the same called program to help... We need a more usefull perspective tool with the feature to shift your objects on to one side, floor or ceiling like Adobe's tool does. That's genuinely a good feature but the setup of this grid is just a drag! Make it as easy as drawing to lines on your object that are likely to touch each other when extended and BAM right there will be a star with as many endpoints as you like or just even a slice, not a full circle. Most projects don't start in Illustrator or need at least some kind of reference to draw around - for example a product picture or rough sketch. When snapping to a point please take edges of object into consideration
"When snapping to a point, the snapping alignment depends on the position of the pointer, not the edges of the dragged object." -- A. Illustrator
...but if I could put my pointer exactly where I need it in order to get the edge of an object exactly on the margin, what's the point of the snap to feature? That is a pain in the butt. And really hard to do. I need the option of snapping the edges of the object to the margin. Spart guides do not help.

Migrate Font Favorites Between Programs
I have quite a few font favorites, sometimes ones that rotate in or out of the Favorites list in InDesign or other programs, dependent on the projects I'm working on at that given time. I'd like to be able to migrate the font favorites between the three main programs I use: InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop without needing to add/remove the fonts in each program individually.

Persistent rulers on startup
Option to toggle on/off in prefs. Simple as that
4 votesThis option already exists in Illustrator, in Preferences > General, although the name of it is quite obscure — Show/Hide Rulers. Once it’s enabled, each new or opened document will have rulers enabled.

Eyedropper automatically adds colour to swatches
I would suggest a function where eyedropper automatically adds picked color to swatches. Sometimes I take color from the picture and I have to first create an object, use eyedropper and then add it to swatches.
