Color swatch import bug
To illustrate the bug - I have a file named logo and a file named base. Both have swatches named PRIMARY and SECONDARY (see attached). As I place the logo into the base file - even as a preview - the PLACED file adopts the swatch colors of the base file. I literally need to do the opposite. I need the base file to adopt the swatches of the placed file. Needs to have an option to REPLACE swatches.

Rotating objects difficult with 5K monitor
On smallish objects, I have to zoom in way too far before the rotate handles show up on an object. It was annoying on the 4k monitor. On the 5k monitor it is more than annoying – it's a disruption. (200% zoom on and 1920px artboard) for a 10px object.

When moving objects with the arrow keys, hide its bounding box and edges
When moving objects with the mouse, its bounding box and edges hide, but when moving them with arrow keys, they don't.

Spot Colors Change the name to JPG
It would be nice if you could change the spot color names in inserted images (JPG, PNG...) without going through Photoshop.

Allow symbols to be modified using scripting
Currently, symbols can't be modified using scripting. Please allow us to access and modify items present in symbols.

Add a new API to delete the swatch
There is a problem with global gradient swatches, described at https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/908050/suggestions/44461230
Illustrator applies changes to all copies of a gradient in a document when this gradient is changed via a script. It makes sense from a practical point of view, but is devastating for scripts in general.
We can’t duplicate gradients with a script properly, like we can do with any other swatch, because when it's done, the gradient swatch get forcibly added to Swatches and then corrupt the art which uses them when deleted... and it does not break this global link anyway.

Do not include objects outside artboard when exporting to jpg or png
When I export Illustrator files to jpg or png, it includes all shapes and objects sitting outside my artboard area. This is impractical, especially when working on a range of concepts and you just want to send the work to the client that is on the artboards and not all the working files sitting outside the artboard area.
1 voteChecking 'Use artboards' option forces Illustrator to ignore objects on canvas outside artboards, even when the one artboard is used only.
When the option is off, Illustrator will export the whole artwork on canvas.

.obj asset file multiple group/layer hierarchy
It’s very cool that you can export 3d models as obj - when I try to import the obj file Into blender, the group objects become scattered and lose there positioning that I have created - please make it so that when I import the file all of the objects are together / grouped as I intended and not scattered - great job on the new update 👍🏻

Let us set the default color for effects
I know this was changed in a recent release, but instead of just setting the default color for drop shadow to 100%K, let us choose what we want the default to be. Some of us might want rich black instead - or a different color. And please do this for all effects that use colors (Outer Glow, Inner glow, etc..)

Scale with constrained proportions
Give me a key combo with the scale tool to constrain proportions.
The diagonal motion doesn't cut it. I'm doing very detailed work and there is no indicator if the proportions are actually locked or not. Very frustrating.

Allow adding Arrowheads or similar to both ends of stroke at once.
Provide an option for adding arrowheads to a stroke with one selection rather than each end individually.

Cursor and path feedback for Scissors
We have to guess if we cut a path at all and if we hit the right path.
No highlight (OK, using Smart Guides helps, but Smart Guides does nothing if you also have Snap to Grid enabled!), no cursor change.It’s 2022, right? Clouds, integrations, Stock sales directly in files... Scissors are still used with a blindfold, in a dark room, in a midnight.

Font Height Options - "Cap Height" option by default
The new font height option is great!
However, working in the sign trade, everyone including our clients (who are mostly Architects) specify text by cap height so we are constantly changing the default Em size to cap height.
It would save a lot of time and also eliminate any potential size issues with someone having the wrong option selected which could be very costly.

"Select Same Fill/Opacity/Appearance/etc" in Freeform Gradients
I work in printing, we just got 15 files in using freeform gradients where the majority of the gradient is 80% opacity and the edges of the shapes are 10% opacity. After printing samples, the customer has decided to change the 80% to 100%. Normally, this is very quickly executed with solid colors and within gradient meshes by selecting one object or point and choosing "select same opacity" from the menu. But this feature is not available in the freeform gradients. I now have the task of individually changing the opacity on over 1500 points across all of the files.…

Allow to set the variable width of stroke to zero
The stroke width tool is great, however you can't reduce the stroke width to zero, you're always left with a hairline. This should be corrected urgently!

グループ内のサブレイヤが非表示でも順序を入れ替えられるようにしてほしい
たくさんのレイヤのグループを作り、各グループのうちひとつを表示して書き出し、という方法で何枚も図面を作ることが多いです。
例えば「1990年」というグループ内に、当時の「道路」「土地利用」「施設」等を入れ、同じように「2000年」「2010年」というグループを作る、等です。
このときに、すべてのグループにおいて「道路」サブレイヤを「土地利用」サブレイヤの上に移動したいとします。
ところが、現状各グループが非表示だとレイヤの上下移動ができません。「1990年」を表示して、レイヤを移動して、「1990年」を非表示にして、「2000年」を表示して、…と面倒な作業を行わなければなりません。移動するレイヤは名前でわかるので、非表示のまま移動できればかかる時間が大幅に減るのに、と思っています。時間短縮のために、グループ内のサブレイヤが非表示でも順序を入れ替えられる機能をつけてほしいです。

Type in stroke width value instead of pull down menu in Character styles
In Character Styles the stroke width only provides a pull down menu to choose from. It would be better if we could type in an exact value.
The stroke width of texts needs to be very precise in my work, but the pull down menu is too limited to provide an accurate enough value. (The gaps between available options in the menu are too big.)When I create a new character style by selecting text and adding a new style, the style contains the correct stroke width.
