  2. Allow to hold Shift to force Aligned (orthogonal) Dimensions

    Ai now tries to smartly detect a relative position of the cursor to a dimension being created and choose if it should be parallel or oblique.

    This sound like a smart solution, but in practice is SUCKS.

    Take a look at this small GIF.
    1. The dimension between two objects is live, and responds to the object being moved up and down fine
    2. But if I choose to move it to the right, it says 'hey, I am a dimension between two points, I’m switching to be slanted'

  3. Add Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+X as a text modal keyboard shortcut for strikethrough text

    Recently Ai finally added hotkeys slots for text formatting (following this request: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/33679330) — for bold, Underline, Italics.

    We need more.
    Even though Strikethrough (as well as Underline) in Ai is very basic and does not allow customization (here is a request about both: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/48103976), we need at least an empty hotkey slot for it. Most apps support Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+X for this, so I suggest the same combination.

  4. Allow to make menus and dropdowns more compact on smaller screens

    Anything under 1920x1080 does not allow for UI scaling. I use the drop down menus a lot. When I have to also scroll on each drop down menu it causes a lot of time loss. If I could scale the menu lists to remove the need to scroll it would be very helpful.

    I see that the tab/menu for Effect is still an older style menu list. It's much more compact.

    Maybe there is a way to revert all the menu lists to that older style?

  5. Improve Assigning Color Profile

    I’ve been running into some challenges with color profiles in Adobe Illustrator that I think could use improvement. Every time I open a document, I’m asked to either assign or discard a color profile. The issue is, even when I choose and save the file, Illustrator asks me again when I reopen it. Is there a reason it’s not saving my choice?

    Another thing that could help a lot is when working with multiple images, like 20 or more. Instead of getting prompted one by one for each image, it would be much faster if I could see a list…

  6. Allow Live Paint selection to have complex appearance

    Using Live Paint Selection Tool, we can choose sections of the Live Paint objects, areas and segments of contours, assigning fills and color to them.

    But what we can assign is rather basic (the same as for live characters, and the related request about the same deal is here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/46545787)
    We can’t assign a brush, change order of appearance attributes, add a second fill and offset it, assign any effect to it, distort or roughen — only fill under stroke, no stroke alignment (even though the panel lies it can be done), no arrowheads... at least dash count as…

  7. Allow merging global and non-global colors

    Please make it possible to merge non-global swatches with global and vice versa. It would greatly help tidy up submissions for printing.

  8. Old Dogs New Tricks - "Stop modernizing mode" or "stop teaching new things mode"

    I've been using Illustrator since the 1990s and can use tools with my eyes closed and with keyboard commands like second nature. What trips me up every time I use it these days is it is constantly changing with little tweaks and updates! Insessant tool tips to teach me how to use the most basic of tool features!

    Can I please have a feature to
    1. Turn off tool tip prompts and teaching features
    2. Turn on 1990s mode or 2000s mode or 2010s mode makes the tools organize and perform as previous feature sets.

  10. Composite fonts with Chinese, Korean fonts

    Composite fonts (East Asian type option) only shows Japanese typefaces for CJK text elements. It would be nice to be also able to typeset CJK texts in Chinese/Korean typefaces to reflect regional differences in CJK character forms.

  11. Setting scale dimensions for each layer

    Currently, each layer can only be drawn at a scale of 1:1. If it becomes possible to set the scale for each layer, it will be possible to use it in the architectural field. Please consider this.

  12. Artboard instant activation by mouse hover

    Currently you to have select the artboard first by left click inside the area, inorder to apply certain operations.
    Can there be a toggle option to auto select or activate an artboard whenever mouse hover it? we don't need to click every time to make it active. It saves loads of clicks if you have a complex project with multiple artboards.

  13. Add Convert to Point / Area Type commands in context menu for text

    When I right-click on text, I would like there to be an option to switch between area/point text, instead of going to the type menu.

  14. Option to disable scroll bar to make the working area bigger.

    I do not need the information in the scroll bar and all the information stored there.
    Just add a little tick box in the preference menu to just not show them. I want my Illustrator clean.

  15. Add an option to "place" an artboard inside an artboard of the same drawing.

    Could it be possible to place an artboard in another one?

    I have a particular workflow in which I have to create an illustration to be printed, and I have a "technical drawing" with some dimensions and comments related to the illustration on another page.
    In order to have only one document to keep both illustration and technical drawing synched, it could be fine to have this feature.

  16. Smooth Tool slider applies to a partial selection. Make a way to quickly apply it to the full selection

    According to Madelyn Renaud (form here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/938463/suggestions/46987777):

    'I also have not been able to find the option for a global selection vs local, so the tool continues to isolate a single edge, forcing me to return to the selection tool and re-select the other elements to begin smoothing again.   17. Bleed 5 mm

    Buenas tardes, mi sugerencia es que por default al guardar un pdf el illustrator y el indesign, venga con 5 mm de sangrado en lugar de 0 (cero). Trabajo en preimpresión y el error mas común de los clientes es que envian los pdfs sin sangrado lo cual implica tener que volver a editar el archivo cuando se podria evitar si por default el bleed vendria activado en 5 mm

  18. Introduce an option for for 3D and Materials to extrude only forward or backward instead of both ways at once

    The extrude effect seems to be extruding along the Z axis in both directions simultaneously. Maybe there should be an option to fix the front face and extrude it backwards (or fix it as a back face and extrude it forward) so that it would be possible to match the same isometric view as the original flat vector in a graphic style.

  19. Easily resize pattern

    Would love to be able to easily resize the patterns within forms.

    Right now I have to resize the object using the option "adapt the pattern" while doing the modifcation, and resize it back without the option.
    Or make a new, big pattern within the pattern swatch.

    What would be useful is not having to leave your illustration or change the shape you would like to change the pattern that is applied to.
    Maybe having a preview of your illustration with the changes you make on the pattern tab/window.

  20. Unembedding Multiple Images keep only one of them selected on canvas

    Since 27.8 we can unembed several images at once, if we check 'Unembed all selected images to this folder' option in Unembed dialog (requested here: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/20608015).

    But if I do this, I get only ONE of them selected after the unembedding process is finished. I am seeing the last one gets selected briefly and then the first one, and stays like this. Why not all previously selected?
