Make it possible for a Graphic Style to mark some symbols as being part of it.
So right now I have a workflow that involves making a lot of complex appearance stacks, saving them as a Graphic Style, then later bringing them into another file by hitting the 'library' button in the Graphic Styles palette and navigating to it via the Other Library file picker.
If I import a style that uses a brush or a global color swatch or a pattern swatch or a width profile, those assets will get imported. But a style that uses a symbol won't import the symbol, and this is a really annoying little exception. It is, perhaps, not surprising that this exception exists since none of Illustrator's native effects use symbols.
But lately I have been doing a lot of stuff with Astute Graphics' Halftone and Stipple effects. Both of these live effects have modes where they can spray symbols across a fill or a stroke based on the underlying art. They can even mix multiple symbols across the art. They're pretty powerful and a lot of fun.
I use these effects in complex Appearance stacks, and save these stacks as Graphic Styles so I can access them quickly with one click. Everything works fine up to this point as long as I'm in the same document.
But when I open a new document and want to bring those styles over, I hit the library button in the Styles palette and load in the file with the styles... and the styles come over without the symbols they rely on. I have to open the same file as a library in the Symbol palette and import all the symbols, then convince the Styles palette to regenerate all its thumbnails.
(If I copy and paste a path with one of these styles from one file to another, it does bring across the symbols. But then I run into problems where some of the other effects I use get expanded into bitmaps when they travel through the copy buffer.)
The nice folks at Astute tell me there's no way for their effect plugins to tell Illustrator that these symbols are associated with a Graphic Style, so that they would be automatically imported when I import a style. Please give them a way to do this. Thanks.
Attached: a file with one Graphic Style that uses some symbols via Astute's Stipplism plugin.

Export multiple artboards with 'Save for web'
It would be very useful and a huge time-saver to have the option to export multiple artboards with 'Save for web'. Currently you can only do 1 artboard at a time, and if you have a lot of artboards to export then it gets old real fast and takes up valuable time.
Auto-populating the file name would be amazing too. When you do a regular export, it exports the files with what you named each artboard. But when you do 'Save for Web', you have to enter the file name each time.

Apply Template to file
I would like the ability to "apply template" to a graphic file so that styles with the same name from one template would update to a graphic with styles that have been updated to different parameters.
Example:
I work on proposals and the font/character/graphic styles vary from project to project based on RFP requirements for submission (each State has different requirements you must adhere to). We have many "boilerplate" graphics that are reused, but the fonts and, sometimes, the colors must be changed to meet requirements.
I have a master template for graphics and update the styles based on the requirements for each proposal project. The style names stay the same but the attributes change.
It would be AWESOME if I could open a graphic file from a project we did 6 months ago, click "Apply Template Styles" and have the character/font/graphic styles automatically update to the master template for the new project.I've tried using "Load Character Styles" and "Load All Styles", but this is only adding styles not already included in the list; it is not updating like-named styles.
I someone has a better way of wording this, I'd appreciate and welcome some clarification!I would like the ability to "apply template" to a graphic file so that styles with the same name from one template would update to a graphic with styles that have been updated to different parameters.

Window Menu shows active panels as checked names but does not indicate panels that are tabbed in a group. Maybe add gray checks?
Window Menu shows active panel as checked names but does not indicate those that are tabbed in a group. Maybe if we put a grayed out check next to tabbed panels? So that the unchecked are obviously panels not activated at all.

Randomize shape effect
I would love a tool like "Roughen" that instead gives the shape a randomized, slightly affected path to give a more hand-drawn feel. There is a VERY small window with Roughen, that kind of gives this effect, before it gives a "spiked" appearance, but a tool to specifically randomize a "hand drawn" look would be nice.

Version history to log a new version upon opening old file
As of now, Version History deletes old versions after 30 days unless it was marked manually, which is fine and makes sense. However, as you open a more-than-30-days-old file that was not marked and you modify it beyond your History limit, there is no way you can revert back to the original file, at least if you have the autosave enabled, which is to be expected.
I therefore suggest to automatically log a version as you open a file that didn't contain any (more than 30 days old...)

Links finder.
Chciałbym żeby możliwe było przeszukiwanie określa onej ścieżki w poszukiwaniu zagubionych linków. Tak samo jak jest w programie blender.
File > External data > Find missing files.
W illustratorze chiciałbym, żeby było podobnie.

Make it easier to find the handles needed to move text around a circular shape.
It's so tough to find just the right place to hover in order to get the handle you need to drag the start/end points of text when placing it on a path, especially a round one. Seems like there's an easier way (maybe holding down a particular key while you click the anchor?)

allow the editing/removal of the "Touch Calligraphic Brush"
Concise problem statement:
An uneditable, undeletable “Touch Calligraphic Brush” appears at the top of the Brush palette for every single document, including ones that predate touch devices. On my Macbook Air, which is not a touch device, with files that have never been loaded on a touch device.
Steps to reproduce bug:
- Start Illustrator on a computer with no touchscreen.
- Load a file or create a new one.
- Try to edit the “Touch Calligraphic Brush”.
- Try to delete the “Touch Calligraphic Brush”.
Results:
The Touch Calligraphic Brush stays there at the top of your brushes palette. It refuses to move. Refuses to let you change its settings. It mocks you every time you look at the brush palette, an unasked-for, unwanted squatter in the middle of your tools, like a toad that’s plopped itself down in the middle of your pencil box. It’s polite, as toads go. It doesn’t demand you feed it flies, it doesn’t excrete all over a work in progress and ruin it, it doesn’t even croak. But it’s always there right in the middle of where your tools are. And sometimes you put your hand on it when you reach for a pencil without really looking, and it’s all clammy, and gross, and why is this toad in the middle of my pencil box, taking up space I could keep drawing tools instead? When you call the people who make the pencil box, they tell you that, oh, yes, the toad has to be there for the benefit of people working in the exciting new medium of toad secretions, so that when they try to use a toad to draw with, there’s always a toad there, and this just leaves you (as an artist working in the medium of pen and ink) rather baffled as to why this means everyone has to have a toad in their pencil case now.
I mean, also sometimes the pencil box summons this five inch tall giraffe made of fire who burns your drawing up, and that’s something both you and the people who made this magical pencil box are more concerned with, but still. I just keep on putting my hand on this toad sometimes, and it’s just moderately annoying on a constant low level.
Expected results:
The Touch Calligraphic Brush acknowledges that its presence may be unnecessary or unwanted for some people, and lets you edit and delete it.
Or even better, perhaps the Touch Calligraphic Brush never even appears if you’re not on a touch device.

Keyboard shortcut to select next anchor point along path (incl shift+ to select more than one)
Implement keyboard shortcuts to select the next anchor point along a path. So if I have selected one anchor point, I can hit that shortcut, and I will have moved to the next anchor point along the path.
Also include the option to shift+{shortcut} to select more than one anchor point.

Make a way to call the Color Picker dialog for change color of a gradient stop
The gradient tool is not very intuitive, and the color selection interface has a limited range, making it difficult to accurately pick the desired colors. Usually, I can only use color codes to specify them. I think there is a lot of room for improvements.

Repeat Grid ignores Use Preview Bounds option
When we try to use Repeat function, the measurements are off when the object has stroke. When we align multiple objects in a grid like manner without using Repeat, Illustrator uses the bounds of the object without taking its stroke into consideration. But when using the grid tool, if the object has stroke, it adds the distance of the stroke to the measure and affects the final result.

Pull multiple images from folder one at a time, image trace/expand and store in 2nd folder, in 2 different formats
Can you make it so that an Action in Illustrator will pull batch images (probably one at a time to avoid processor overload) into Illustrator from a specified folder, apply image trace, apply expand, then save to a second folder in two different formats (EPS/jpg).
And PLEASE keep the settings for Image Trace (mode, etc) the same for each imported image, instead of returning to default.

Performance... GPU Performance - Second Check Box - CPU Default
Mac GPU still does not work correctly all the time. Until it does, there should be a Second Check box for GPU Performance.
there are times that the GPU is better, but most of the time it's completely glitchy. Until that's fixed we should have a CHECK BOX for DEFAULT to CPU.
Currently GPU Checked forces it to be on first. If uncheck you can not switch it without going into preferences.
It's a little thing but until this can be fixed, this is a better workflow... it might be good to keep even after it's fixed too.

Better support when Expanding shapes that have a Mask like "Draw Inside"
Normally when creating a clean vector logo the process involves expanding appearance and cleaning up the shape, but if the Draw Inside or a Mask is used the result may look verry different from the original shape. No warning that the appearance is altered is given.
Workaround is to export the part of the illustration that contains "Draw Inside" objects as a PDF, I would use Asset Export Panel. Plaxe the asset and then Expand. This is a work around, and requires the asset to appear at the exact same spot.
A video explaining the work around https://youtu.be/ziTS7VYdacQ
