Make Envelope Distort to ignore the clipped part of a clipping group
I would like it to be possible to perform an envelope distort operation so that only what is in the clipping is taken into account in the calculation of object bending. At the moment, if I have, for example, objects (like circle) in a clipping rectangle and I use the "Make with Mesh" or "Make with Top Object" option to bend the whole thing to a different shape, the bend sizes are not only limited to the clipping but to all objects that are not visible and hidden under the clipping, causing it to be badly deformed. It would be wonderful if Envelope Distort would only bend what is visible in the clipping and not outside it. If something like this could be introduced it would have a hugely positive impact on the file preparation process for the whole company I work for (packaging).

3D from Illustrator to CC library via obj format (to after effects)
Hey there. Don't know if anyone here also follows After Effects news, but they just added something pretty cool :
Support for OBJ import from Libraries
Now import OBJ 3D model files from your Libraries into your compositions
In addition to GLB and GLTF, the capability to add 3D model files from your Libraries into your composition is now extended to OBJ 3D model file format. You can add OBJ 3D models to your Creative Cloud Libraries from Adobe Stock, your local system, or your After Effects projects.
Learn more about importing 3D models from Creative Cloud Libraries to your project. That makes me ask if we'd have a chance to get a "+ add 3D object" to the + button in the CC libs panel.
If CC libs can handle 3D models AND another software (here, Ae) uses them, then it would be the right time !

Ability to create new fonts directly in Illustrator
I want to be able to make a usable font in illustrator without having to use FontForge or another similar non-Adobe application.

Allow to zoom pattern swatches on right click hold, like we can do in Graphics Styles
Patterns can we very detailed, and we can have some pattern variants that don’t differ much from each other. Even when we choose to have Large Thumbnail View in Swatches, it doesn’t really help much to distinguish these.
It’d be useful if we could do the same thing as Graphic Styles panel does — to click and hold a right mouse button to view a giant thumbnail of the clicked pattern.
The only difference would be that styles are displayed applied to the selected objects, while there is no such need for patterns — a simple square thumbnail will do.

Graphic Styles direct hotkeys
Some of us use graphics styles A LOT. And a way to quickly apply them now requires aiming and clicking. In modern now, a precise targeted click is the most inconvenient, attention-expensive, and rather ineffective gesture.
Pro users use hotkeys.
Since InDesign’s Quick Apply is not a thing yet (that’s another story), we’d like to be able to assign direct hotkeys to chosen styles. There are several ways to approach this: by name, or by position in the list... but not as an action wrapper — we have so little of F-keys.

Display Color Mode and Resolution (PPI) for a selected image in both Info and Properties panels
Currently only the Control panel (which Ai team decided to hide for new users with their training-wheels Essentials workspace) shows a resolution and a color mode for a selected image, and Links (but only when expanded, which again is not the default).
Properties shows nothing, despite the name.
Same goes for Info panel.
Make these better.Originally requested by Junior Rocha

Allow to disable or enable center points for all or specific objects types on creation
With Area Type, if I use the text tool to highlight a word (for example, if I want to embolden the word), if I catch the centre point of the text box in the wrong way, Illustrator will assume that I want to create a new text box, which I don't. I know I can manually disable the centre point via the Attributes panel, but I need to set the centre point to OFF by default, and to my knowledge there is no way of doing this.

Multilingual Spell check needed for multilingual package design.
I am a package designer. Our company fully committed away from English only packaging to "3L," using English, French and Spanish. Sometimes, we do 8L for emerging markets. When we review our packaging, and before film release, we use Spell Check in our routine. However, it is cumbersome to find English misspellings, when Spell Check spends so much time identifying French and Spanish as misspelled English words. Plus, it would be nice to catch a misspelled French or Spanish word, just in case our translation service team made a mistake. We'd not know because we are not native speakers. With all the AI language models out there, and Adobe use of AI, is there not a smart way to make Spell Check more robust and help us less likely to make a spelling mistake? Currently, it kind of defeats the point of what Spell Check is intended to be. It is not currently helpful in that regard.

Package and Export for Screens / Assets: Same As Current Document Folder button
In Package dialog I’d like to have a button to change the path to the location of the current document.
BTW, same button is needed in Export for Screens / Assets dialog.

I want to control how many pop-ups I see.
I'm just trying to work, Adobe, but all the pop-ups are driving me mad! The tool tips are fine, but to be working away and be bombarded with this pop-up telling me to share my work and then another asking if I know how to do such-and-such.... I discover new features on my own whenever the app is updated, and if I want to find out anything else, I know how to do that. I don't need constant reminding. Please, please please, Adobe, please let this be a preference setting that can be turned off.

Animated Zoom for Mouse wheel
Please add the Animated Zoom function for the mouse wheel, now this can only be done using the "Z" key and the mouse movement. It is very inconvenient to scroll using alt + mouse wheel when the percentage of increase jumps from 66% to 100% in one turn of the mouse wheel. The trackpad on the macbook zooms very well, but it is not convenient to use. Add a switch to the "General" settings next to the scroll wheel " Use Animated Zoom to scroll with the mouse.

Share for Review with watermark
While I like the Share for review feature, I would appreciate if there was an option to activate watermark.
The benefits of watermarks are too numerous to list, but the most important is:
Deterrent for Unauthorized Use: Watermarks act as a deterrent for individuals seeking to steal or misuse a designer's work for commercial or personal gain. This protection encourages respect for creative rights and discourages infringement.

Actions for Image Tracing
Hi Adobe, PLEASE can you add more detail to the actions. For example, when I run an image trace, I don't just want to rerun the last one as I have different presets. I want to be able to say use the "Outline Fills" Image Trace and expand. Additionally these should be able to be adjusted later by double clicking the action line - like photoshop does
Thank you!

Improve pattern editing mode's slow performance
Pattern editing mode is notoriously slow. Using complex artwork and textures inside patterns causes pattern mode to hesitate when simply moving objects (even when displaying fewer copies). Because brushes are expanded in Pattern mode, textural brushes can't be used to create patterns without a lot of spinning and crashing. The feature hasn't been improved since it was released in CS6. The new Repeats feature doesn't make fill swatches, unfortunately, so it does not replace Pattern mode. If only we could create repeating art on the artboard and make fill swatches from it without the constraints of pattern mode.

Add option to create vector graphics from text
Add option to create vector graphics from text with firefly
6 votesThe feature is added in the latest builds of Illustrator. The development of it is not complete yet, and the team has more plans on making it better for users to help them with their creative projects.
If you have specific requests related to it, leave them in comments below or log separately.

Duplicate Artboard should place the new artboard inside the canvas if possible
"Duplicate Artboard" always tries to place the new artboard to the right of the selected artboard which often makes it fall outside of the canvas, failing with the error " Cannot create artboard outside the canvas. Please rearrange and try again." "New Artboard" does not have this problem. Please have duplicate artboard use new artboard's placement logic.

Respect clip groups in pattern brushes
We can put a rectangle with no-fill and no-stroke under a tile art of a pattern brush to tell Illustrator about the bounds we want to use.
Also, we can clip the tile art with a copy of this rectangle. When used together, this allows to create a tile which is clipped and uses the bounds we expect... Well, almost — the preview of the tile in the dialog is going to be wrong, but the preview of the brush itself and the way brush behaves is going to be correct.
But without the bottom copy Illustrator won’t respect the clipping group’s bounds — while there is no reason to not to. Ai should limit the tile to the clipping bounds, an not the bounds of the clipped content automatically.

Edit Original Link Image in contextual menu
It would be a lot less clicks if one could right-click an image file and have "edit image" be in the contextual menu. Currently, click the object, go to links palette, click on the little pencil icon... photoshop launches... Kind of labor intensive...
