Tabs window not available in 30.1
Mac OS Tahoe, AI desktop version 30.1 <-- updated yesterday 12/22/25
Creating new area text (paragraph text) which requires tab structure, first thing, the shift+command shortcut no longer works. So I can't indicate in a screen grab what doesn't show up. It is also greyed-out within the Top Window Menu>Type>Tabs2 votes -
Rasterize creates a thin horizontal bright stripe / line
I tried to rasterize my clipped mask short design (images & vector within), but the result raster was damaged white line on it.
after I tried other anti-aliasing option to none, it seems done fine and without damage. So I think it's from the anti-aliasing option which caused it.

My files are not saving
Whenever I save a file it says it was saved on my desktop, but when I go to find it later its not there, like it didnt save or never even existed. I was recently working on a few files and I saved them all, but when I opened the app again only five opened, more then 70% of my work was lost and I dont know why.

Behavior of buttons in the character panel when automatically converted to an icon panel
I'm using macOS Tahoe 26.2, with English system language and the Japanese version of Illustrator. This issue started with Illustrator version 30.
- Check "Automatically turn into icon panel" in the User Interface preferences.
- Click the ♥ button in the character panel or the scroll bar when selecting a font.
- The character panel closes.
- This issue did not occur up to version 29 of Ai.

Exporting PDFs makes a single file instead of many for each artboard
I am experiencing an issue exporting PDFS under export for screens. I have 2 artboards which I have named, but when I export it only exports 1 artwork and names the PDF the actual file name instead of the artboard name. Other file types, png, jpg, etc seem to be working but not PDFs.

Uniwidth/multiplexed fonts extends in Illustrator
A font of mine is uniwidth/duplexed (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uniwidth_typeface) and keeps its width in InDesign and ABC Dinamo’s Font Gauntlet when changing the weight of the VAR.ttf.
In Illustrator however, the text ‘extends’ when adding weight. Visualized: The last letter on a line is standing further right than before. The other way around it also contracts when lowering the weight, obviously.
I went on and found the same behavior in other VAR fonts (right in InDesign, wrong in Illustrator), but also ones that don’t have the issue. My Illustrator version is up to date, and the bug was also in…

"Legacy text" warning when opening a file with Illustrator 2026, created in Illustrator 2026

- Illustrator 30.1
- Created large posters in Illustrator 30.1 including Japanese type. Was later asked to make A4 size versions of them. Reduced entire contents of individual A1 posters so they would fit on A4 pages, copied, pasted to a new multi-artboard file. Saved and closed. Opened the file next day, again using Illustrator 30.1, and was greeted with "This file contains text created in an older version of Illustrator. Updates in the text layout may have caused changes in some character positions, or line breaks." The preview showed there is actually no text reflow or change in spacing…

The issue of selecting tools to move lines
In Illustrator, when I select a line and try to move it, the selection is always lost, forcing me to repeatedly select and move it again. This makes the task difficult for me.

Files not saved properly with incorrect display
Since we started working with Adobe Illustrator 30, we have encountered various files, both saved as ai and pdf, that display a different and incorrect image in the preview. As a result, our printing software also opens and processes these incorrectly, resulting in incorrect printing.
When we reopen and resave the file, it is fine.
For the time being, we have gone back to Adobe Illustrator 29, because we can no longer rely on our print file in this way.2 votes -

Some linked Illustrator files show up with extra type or completely blank.

Placed .ai artboards drop graphic elements randomly. This is disgusting for printers
The screenshot shows the placed artboards from - top row: .ai artboards, bottom row: pdf artboards. The circled portions show logos were dropped from the artwork arbitrarily.
When the .ai file is opened normally, it displays correctly - but not when placed.
This is a separate issue from placed artwork not displaying transparencies accurately.
This is supposed to be a professional level program and printing bugs are getting to be too much and costing my company too much in unnecessary reprints. PLEASE FIX.

Variable Google Fonts reset to minimum weight on file open in Illustrator
Issue Description:
When opening files in Adobe Illustrator, the program incorrectly handles Google Fonts variable families that use floating weight values (variable wght axis). All text elements that were assigned specific weight values (e.g., 400, 500, 600) are automatically reset to the minimum weight value after reopening the file. As a result, all text switches to the thinnest available style in the variable font.
Expected Behavior:
Illustrator should correctly save and restore the numeric values of variable font axes (in this case, the wght axis) and display text exactly with the weight settings assigned before saving.

I can't save anything in Illustrator in SVG format
I tested save any object in Illustrator in format SVG, but after many minutes Illustrator shows a window saying it can't save because of the mistake problem. I tested in the last version and the previous version, I cant save in SVG, I need this...

Ray tracing cuts off ends of 3D strokes with round caps
When using the 3D effect on an object with strokes, and choosing to render using ray tracing, it abruptly cuts off the end of many strokes (with round end cap already applied).

Every in-app window is crashing
All in-app windows are crashing. Panels are fine, but windows will crash. This includes even the basic of the basic: new document, set color, saving settings, preferences and settings, etc.

Can't see any Artboards
Every project I access opens, but I can't see any artboards. I have tried downgrading and uninstalling+reinstalling, to no effect.
