Add panning and zooming with keyboard and mouse I’m trying to use illustrator for ipad with a keyboard and mouse but only being able to pan and zoom with my hands really is disruptive to my workflow (coming from a desktop user). It definitely requires a big habit change on my part to lift my hand up to the screen everytime I want to move the canvas around, but I would LOVE to have the pan and zoom by holding spacebar and moving around as well as cmd + scrolling respectively. This is the only thing making me not want to switch to using illustrator for ipad full…

Shape tool that allows multipoint star tool and multi side polygons It would be helpful to have the ability to change the number of points on a star or a polygon like we can on the desktop version.

Could you make the option to set it as a past version? I use illustrator (desktop) to make a file for laser engraving machine or cnc.
And that machines only read illustrator version 8.
I usually use desktop to do this but sometimes I can’t access to desktop so I wish I can use that function with my ipad.1 vote -
Set default stroke Line width It would be useful to be able to set a new default line/stroke weight or set it before you star drawing. Currently the option in the side menu only appears once you have started a line and resets when you start a new layer. I almost always need a 0.25 weight yet have to constantly either start a line and go back and set from 1 back to 0.25

Drag and Drop Artboard Copy In desktop, I can Alt and Drag a copy of an Artboard. Currently, it seems in iPad I can only use the Duplicate button. This gets annoying. I want to be able to drag a copy of an Artboard to whatever location I want. Auto placement is nice, but it creates more steps in the workflow. I.e. Duplicate - Locate - Move. Whereas if I could drag a copy of an Artboard, I can move it up, down, left, right, diagonal, I always know where it is, and once it’s placed I don’t have to do anything else.

Hiding Properties Panel When I’m working with text with the Properties panel open, and then make the text live to edit - the Properties panel hides automatically. So, if I’m trying to select letters or words specifically to edit, I have to reopen the Properties panel. It of course reappears after closing the live text edit. I think I’d like the panel to stay up, or perhaps reappear after making a single letter or word selection.

Make Desktop and iPad versions look the same It would be a lot easier if both versions of Illustrator (desktop and iPad) looked the same, especially for new learners.

To be able to create a new path off another path when using the pen tool like you can on pc I normally link paths up while doing my art, expand and then use live paint mode on my Mac but can’t on the iPad. Would be awesome to be able to do this ! Example below to hopefully help this make sense

Curve and warp text/images I use my iPad 99% of the time due to convenience. If having a tool to warp or curve text would make it much more convenient and increase usage in this app on my iPad.

Allow iPad to work as drawing tablet (screen pairing) I bought a iPad Pro recently and would like it if i could use my iPad as a wireless drawing tablet. It would be great if i could work in the same document on my Windows PC and iPad at the same time, maybe through the cloud. I was hoping that Duet Pro would help but sadly it has a lot of latency.

Pencil tool option to not automatically close paths Would be great to have the flexibility of having a tool that can accurately capture handwriting - automatic path closing prevents this
33 votesIt is now possible to open Pencil Tool Options and untick 'Close paths when ends are within a set tolerance' option completely (or change the value).
This will effectively stop Pencil from auto-joining.
If you want this option to be toggleable on the fly — please vote here: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-desktop-feature-requests/suggestions/45913831-hold-cmd-ctrl-key-while-drawing-with-pencil-to-tem

DWG/DXF Export Being able to export these file types to local storage etc. would allow more opportunity for an iPad based workflow, rather than needing to jump back to the desktop version just for exporting

Creative Cloud Libraries on ipad? I'm sure this is in the pipeline, but it's odd that Creative Cloud Libraries isn't available on the iPad version of Illustrator. I have searched the web front-to-back and can't seem to find a way to use the Libraries panel in Photoshop or Illustrator on iPad. I apologize if I am incorrect. I just can't find a good resource to point me in the right direction.
I do most of my work on a PC and will likely continue to do so. It's just convenient sometimes to start with an idea on my iPad and finish later on my PC.…
