Pencil tool option to not automatically close paths Would be great to have the flexibility of having a tool that can accurately capture handwriting - automatic path closing prevents this
33 votesIt is now possible to open Pencil Tool Options and untick 'Close paths when ends are within a set tolerance' option completely (or change the value).
This will effectively stop Pencil from auto-joining.
If you want this option to be toggleable on the fly — please vote here: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-desktop-feature-requests/suggestions/45913831-hold-cmd-ctrl-key-while-drawing-with-pencil-to-tem

Allow iPad to work as drawing tablet (screen pairing) I bought a iPad Pro recently and would like it if i could use my iPad as a wireless drawing tablet. It would be great if i could work in the same document on my Windows PC and iPad at the same time, maybe through the cloud. I was hoping that Duet Pro would help but sadly it has a lot of latency.

Addition of 3D Effects I would really benefit from the ability to revolve, extrude and bevel objects on the iPad. That is one of the last things keeping me from switching to Illustrator on the iPad full time.

If not already suggested, arrows and other line end options As per I think the desktop version of AI, and for def, other Mac and iPad drawing apps, be nice to be able to add arrows and other end points to lines. And even better, include a dimensioning option. I know AI is not for CAD or related purposes, but it is in fact, almost good enough for such application, so why not? ;)

Knife / Slice & Scissor tools Available under the “erase” tool just as they are on the desktop. Or make a shortcut key to erase in straight lines, currently there isn’t an easy way to break paths.

Curve and warp text/images I use my iPad 99% of the time due to convenience. If having a tool to warp or curve text would make it much more convenient and increase usage in this app on my iPad.

Mouse support I use my Bluetooth mouse for almost everything on my iPad and not to mention it’s also plays a key role in creating graphics on my desktop illustrator as well. So it would be very very nice to see an option where I can move my anchor points or draw a line with my mouse on the iPad as well.
Please do consider this option it would mean a lot to us!

Support for keyboards If you had the ability to utilize an attached keyboard on the iPad it would enable there to be a cohesion in learning shortcuts and there would be less of a learning curve between the two versions of the software, as well as enhancing the iPad software itself.
22 votesAlmost all features in Ai on iPad now have keyboard support.

Would be great if you could get inspired by Procreate functions and workflow I love Illustrator on the PC and Procreate on the iPad. Procreate has lots of nice features that I would like to be seen in Illustrator for iPad, like how you use one or two fingers on the screen to control different things, selection tools etc...

Toggle to disable closing of pencil lines In the full version of Illustrator it is possible to turn off pencil lines from auto-closing by checking the “close paths” toggle off in the pencil options but it seems there is no option to turn this off for the pencil tool on iPad Illustrator. Very annoying when creating lots of short strokes and a good amount of them close into a shape.
