Dimension tool, unable to choose a Spot color. v 28.1
So updated to Illustrator v 28.1. And with it came the blessing of the Dimension tool, however I've notices some irregularities with the settings.
Not sure if intended or not.Regarding the selection of color, depending if you open the Dimension tool settings by double-clicking on the tool or via the "cogwheel" you get different functions.
Double-click you can select a spot color as the ink/color used for the measurements, for example using an custom color "measurement".
If you instead go to the settings through the "cogwheel" of the tool the option for selecting a spot color (färgrutor) is grayed…

Image Copy to Produce Multiple Copies of Different sizes
Recommend adding the capability to take an image and make multiple copies in incremental sizes of same image. For example, having the ability to take a PNG image and decrease the size incrementally. Would like to take an image and decrease the size by 10 percent or other user specified number of steps resulting from an ascending size to descending sizes for a "certain number of steps."

Identity of object changes back to original identity when copied and renamed
When an object is copied, edited and renamed it shows with the new name in the layer, but then when you come back to the layer it will revert to its original identity, and the only way to get it to show what you just renamed it to is to collapse and re-expand the layer.

Renaming a swatch group makes a duplicate group
When I rename a swatch group on Color Guide interface, it automatically duplicates the color group even though no alteration took place to the included color swatches themselves. I don't want that! I just simply need a way to rename each color group just like each swatch.
The only workaround of this bug is to rename a group without duplication is to select all the in-group swatches and make another group under a new name. Then, delete the emptied previous group. What an ungraceful user experience...2 votes -
Can’t generate prompt due to connection issues Error
Trying out the new AI and when I enter something in the subject field, It tells me it is having connection issues and to check your internet. My internet is working fine.

Screen flashes when using Shift/Scroll wheel to navigate around transparent canvas
The transparent canvas goes into a non-transparent mode whenever one uses the scroll wheel click or holds the spacebar to navigate around the canvas instead of staying transparent. A similar but far more epileptic effect can be seen when using the scroll wheel to scroll vertically or Shift + scroll wheel to scroll horizontally: the canvas flashes from transparent to white with every pixel it is moved, making it extremely unpleasant to look at.
Version number is v28.1.0.62, operating system is Windows 11 Home.
2 votesThe team tries a new algorithm to boost panning and zooming speed within Beta. It streams the contents of the document much faster, and it leads to less lagging, but the downside of the method is disabling all annotations while both zooming and panning happen: the documents grid, the transparency grid, guides...
This is a know limitation and the team continues to explore the method further.
At the moment there is no way to disable this behavior.
The main Illustrator release does not have this method enabled.

Fill or stroke in appearance panel causes crash in 28.3 10

I am trying to change the color of an object. Selecting the object and clicking on the fill or stroke button in the appearance panel causes the program to immediately crash. This has happened on 2 different Macs. The program is currently unusable so back to standard Illustrator 28.12 votes -
Pattern Mode Layer Highlight Bug
In the Pattern Options panel menu flyout, the option Tile Edge Color... will change both the tile edge and also the layer highlight color, so designers can choose a color that is visible against their art (like everywhere else in Illustrator). It's become sticky and buggy; sometimes it changes, and sometimes it doesn't.

Issue with Ungroup
Things I would [Group] once would need to be [Ungrouped] for 10x before getting disassembled. This happened after the update, but downgrading my AI version did not resolve the issue.

Zoom and Alt Zoom glitch occasionally when when sliding mouse to zoom in and out.
I slide my mouse left and right to zoom in and out but occasionally when holding the right mouse button while zooming it will draw a dotted line and zoom me in extremely and then have to resort to clicking Alt + Z to zoom out which is much much slower and less efficient. To resolve I have to save my work, close the application, then restart it.

PSD Layered export fails no matter dpi or GPU on or off
Idea?? It's (yet) another bug.
It's in the title. Have illustrator layered file that need to take into photoshop as layered file for eventual return to Illustrator and eventually AE. But layered export fails every time. Tried 450dpi, 300, 150 72 with GPU acceleration on, and with it off. No joy. Downgraded, no joy. Seriously just no joy.1 vote -

The ability to move the patterns in my color swatch using the "Left Mouse Button" + "~" or "`" keys, which was available in the previous version, cannot be performed in this version.

Spectrum area in Color Picker dialog becomes invisible
When creating a color using the color picker mixer panel, the color preview on the left goes black and does not preview the color being created.
