Collapsed panels won't open when clicked!
I keep some panels permanently expanded (eg. Character, Paragraph, Pathfinder/Align/Transform) with other ones like Transparency, Swatches etc. collapsed and tacked to the sides (see screenshot). When using 28.7.1, none of the collapsed panels will expand or respond to clicking any part of the panel. The only way I can expand them is to manually go into the Window drop down and click the name of the panel I need to expand.

Performance operations are greatly affected by memory usage.
- The software has excessive memory usage upon startup, occupying about 1.2 GB, while CDR only takes up a few hundred MB.
- There is lag when continuously zooming in, changing, or copying content.
- The content consists of text and icons, with 60 artboards taking up more than 3.5 GB of memory, which is too much.
- The performance on a graphics card P1000 with 2 GB is not as good as CDR.
- There is room for optimization to make better use of multi-core and multi-threading capabilities.
(Note: The original list had an item '4' which seems to be missing, so I translated…

Manual Dimensions don’t stick to the objects they are intended to be linked to
Starting form Ai Beta 28.4.0.7, dimension objects are sticky (linked) to the objects we click with the Dimension tool — so that when we move or transform the objects, their linked dimensions move with them.
For some reason this applies only to 'Aligned dimensions' (those that are made with the click-drag-release method).
When we use click-click-click method, Illustrator creates 'Manual dimensions', which look the same way as the aligned ones, but for some peculiar reasons that makes no sense to us, are not sticky.
This means that we can’t apply live and linked dimensions to objects that are anything more…
24 votesThe latest Beta 28.5.0.78 allows manual dimensions to stick to arbitrary points and recalculate correctly when objects are repositioned or transformed — just as we expected it to. This includes gaps also.
Please try it and see if it works for all the cases you have and comment back.

Glyphs are missing in the Glyphs panel
The glyphs don't show up when I open them. No matter which font I choose, it's always the same problem.

Beta AI exports pictures as skewed and grayscale, with visible parallel lines
When exporting JPG design Ai ruins the end-file. It is in grayscale and skewed as if would have been printed on bad printer.

Please check if it works for you and comment back.

Inside / Outside aligned strokes don’t trim sharp corners properly
The fact Inside / Outside aligned strokes are in fact dynamically generated compound shapes is a well obscured mystery, and it poses a ton of problems for experienced users.
However, this problem is blatantly obvious for all of us.
1. Make a path with a sharp angle, set sharp corners
2. Try to align stroke to Inside / Outside (open paths currently support this only in Beta)
3. Just look at the results. What are these protrusions?
Why don’t they get auto-trimmed?
Why expanding them gives a zero-width disjointed sliver and two unconnected shapes?7 votesThe team has encountered several issues with this feature. It requires them to change the basic algorithms and it is going to take them more time than anticipated.
While it still works in Beta 28.8.0.7, the next Beta build will have Inside/Outside aligned strokes for open paths disabled. The Beta is scheduled to be live on 7th of August.
Once this is ready to be enabled back, the team will update the status.

Star (triangle) rounded edges Bug in v 28.7
Every time I try to round the edges of a 3 points star (triangle) the notification bellow shows up on my Adobe Illustrator (Beta) 28.7 version and as a consequence I can't round it. By the way, I'm using it on Windows 10 Pro 64 bits and I had this same problem in diffente files.

Artboard resizes art with it after Beta V29.0
I updated to Illustrator Beta 29.0 in place of the previous version, but it did not install any executables and would not open. I was able to uninstall what was there, reinstall 28.8, and then reinstall 29.0, keeping the previous version this time. Now, in 29.0, I can't resize my artboard without it grabbing and sizing all of the content.
It doesn't matter if I have anything selected. Once I go to resize my artboard, it grabs everthing within its bounds. I have to select all and cut everything that is there in order to resize an artboard, then paste…
1 voteThe behavior with scaling contents of artboards with them is not a bug, but actually a long-awaited functionality requested here. You can disable it from Control panel or from Properties.

An action to open an existing document fails to run with a hotkey assigned if no documents are opened
An action to open a specific local document with F3 shortcut or any other F-key assigned fails to run it does not work when no files are open.
Runs fine when run with the Play Current Selection button, only the key is ignored. Also works if there is a new file or an existing document present.
This problem has been going on since AI 21.

Rethink Modal Dialogs
Here is a significant issue that many users, including myself, have encountered while using Adobe Illustrator—the frequent appearance of popups and modal dialog boxes. These interruptions disrupt the workflow and hinder productivity, which is highly frustrating and inappropriate for a professional design software.
While I understand the importance of notifications and updates, the current implementation of popups often feels intrusive and unnecessary. These interruptions not only break concentration but also obscure parts of the workspace, causing unnecessary delays in completing tasks. Complicated transformations that require detailed selections get ruined when you have to stop everything to click an OK button.
