An error occurred while saving the comment @Wojciech, does it behave any better today? Some changes were made for the speed of similar operations. Please retest.

An error occurred while saving the comment I remember occasionally Layers would confuse the colors in Layers... collapsing-expanding them all used to solve this for me (with Opt/Alt clicking) on the arrow before a layer’s name.
However, I don'’ recall the exact conditions to make it happen. Does anyone?
I remembering it can relate to expanding symbols... but your example looks like it was not using these. Rebuilding the structure form scratch and trying to break it failed for me.

An error occurred while saving the comment Ah, now I see what you mean. Yes, it is known to me :( That’s one of reasons I avoid using sublayers at all.
It’s even stranger than you demonstrate — take a look at the GIF attached.
So it’s not really minor...An error occurred while saving the comment Hard to grasp, sorry. Starting with a question 'why is the compound path green in the first place?'
Can you please share a test file with direct steps? A small video of you performing these steps can also help to reproduce this behavior. -

An error occurred while saving the comment There’s a general request about the minimal allowed panel height also:
http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/47052850An error occurred while saving the comment Yep, I confirm. I think this happens because of the recently added Recent section (no pun intended).
Even when it’s disabled, it contributes to the minimal possible height.
Thanks for the report!

An error occurred while saving the comment Hello, Ares! I like the idea, but I can’t say I exactly like the solution you offer...
May be introducing palette commands like 'Move layer backward/forward' will do the trick? -

Claimed to be fixed in the latest 30.3 general release. Please update, check, and comment back if it still happens.

An error occurred while saving the comment I have a problem: an EPS 10 with a gradient mesh objects, saved in Illustrator 30.2.1 (2026), won't open in 20.0.0 (CC 2020). I've tried cleaning it up in various ways, but nothing helps. Any suggestions? The error is: Can't open the illustration. The illustration contains an illegal operand.

An error occurred while saving the comment Please share a test document with a text object that behaves like this for you, so the team can investigate what went wrong and come up with a fix.
So far this is a first report about such a behavior here. -

Can you try the Beta build (available from CCD), to see if a newer version doesn’t have it? -

An error occurred while saving the comment I know this can happen if guides exist on canvas. When included in groups, they can mess up the aligning. Try to enable them (if disabled) and see if any is interfering.
Another problem is imported SVGs — the can have empty groups and they break aligning badly. Can it be the case? These can be found in Layers.
Can you share a file that behaves like this here? I can check it for you (if it’s OK to share it here). -

Enabling Show Tool Tips in Preferences > General helped to have the names for swatches on hover back
An error occurred while saving the comment I should have asked this too :) Thanks for coming back. Closing this!
An error occurred while saving the comment This is odd... works for me when I try, in the main and additional palettes...
When did it start happening? Is it 30.2.1? Does Beta behave differently?
When you double-click a a swatch — does it have a name in the dialog?
If you enable the Recent Colors section for the panel — do these get hover tips?
Do you get hover tips for anything else at all? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Take a look at the GIF recorded.
This clipping path has a stroke. When the stroke is outlined with Expand Stroke, it becomes the clipping path.
To my knowledge, it never worked differently in a situation like this.An error occurred while saving the comment As far as I recall, outlining a stroke for a clipping path always worked like this — the outlined stroke becomes separated from the fill and thus becomes a top path the clipping group uses to define clipping... but you say it worked in previous builds... needs checking.
Can you please supply this particular test file with this clip group?
When was the last version you remember dealing with this the other way? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Doug, this is not a new change, as far as I know... Ai forces this option for any new documents saved, along with 'Create PDF Compatible File' and 'Embed ICC Profiles'. I’m used to disable these each time with Alt+C, P. Blessed be accessibility hotkeys. Alt+M should disable the compression option.
To be sure, I checked older builds: CS4, CS6, 2017... All these have it by default, and the only case it doesn’t show up — when a document saved without it already gets resaved. If you are dead sure there was a particular version that never had this option be default and you can test it — please tell more.
Meanwhile, take a look at these related requests:
1. Disable "save as PDF compatible" as default when saving .AI file — http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/36926863
2. Allow to disable 'Create PDF Compatible File' option when saving AIT templates — http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/49429697 -

An error occurred while saving the comment You can’t drop a sublayer 'Layer 63' into a 'Group' group within the top 'Rider (Portrait)' layer.
Layers can’t be nested into groups. Groups are considered to be objects, and layers aren’t.
These differ by design. You can see that layers have a tringle in the top right corner of their rows when selected, and groups don’t (names can deceive). What you should do is to select your group first and use the 'Collect in New Layer' command from the panel’s menu.
Then you can ungroup the group within the newly created sublayer (if needed) and now nest your 'Layer 63' sublayer inside of this new sublayer. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Indeed, Actions are blind to Artboards panel’s buttons and commands...
Amazingly, I don’t see older requests for this!At the moment, I can offer two workaround solutions... both based on scripts.
1. There are several scripts that can create rectangles based on artboards, the most prominent being DrawRectanglesByArtboards (https://github.com/creold/illustrator-scripts/blob/master/md/Draw.md#drawrectanglesbyartboards). With you can record using it into an action and follow with Object > Artboard > Convert to Artboards... (actionable) but it would also require moving it a bit... to do so, I’d flip it horizontally from the right edge and move a bit with Move dialog. Cumbersome :D
2. Duplicate Artboards script: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDH1YRaYMYk -

I confirm. For me it just don’t get updated until I reopen the file. Toggling Overprint won’t help. When a source is changed and saved, Ai detects it is updated, but the color changes never happens. Only reopening forces it to read it back.
Can you recall exactly or test when this problem happened, in what build exactly?
