An error occurred while saving the comment That’s... odd. Can you please record a small video?
Does it happen with these panels only? What about Comments one? or Version History (not ordinary History)? -

An error occurred while saving the comment The NBSP request Filip mentions: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-desktop-feature-requests/suggestions/35809120-non-breaking-space-nbsp-should-work
As for the problem — true, unchecking Enable Missing Glyph Protection helps to workaround it. However, I’d say Ai can make a better job signaling a substitution happens. It’s easy to spot the font is changed sometimes, but if a default font is somewhat similar to the desired one — this change can lead to problems later, when the substitution gets discovered too late.
InDesign has an option to highlight these, but InD is not Ai...An error occurred while saving the comment I don’t ask for the proof, the image is enough.
I ask to test it, to force apply the font to these characters with the Eyedropper, to see if the font has the needed glyphs at all.AdminEgor Chistyakov (Admin, Adobe Illustrator) supported this idea ·
An error occurred while saving the comment I was able to recreate this with Acumin Variable Concept Wide Bold. When UI tried to input 'ā' character, it switched to Myriad Pro. Well, it’s nothing unexpected, since Acumin Variable Concept does NOT have this glyph at all...
Do a simple test, please, — select the whole text object, grab the Eyedropper tool and click the character in it that has a correct font applied (that it 'When I wr' in your case) — will it apply the same font to all character in the text, or will it replace some with [X] symbols? If it does replace these, it simply means the font is missing the character you are trying to input, and Ai force switch the font to the one that has these.
This is not consistent with the way Ai does it for every other font, when it instantly types [X] symbol when you try to type the symbols the font does not have...
So independently on the results you get I will notify the Type team on this. Thanks you for reporting this, Xoán.An error occurred while saving the comment I can’t verify it, but I am on Windows 10, and input the accented character using Microsoft Quick Accent menu, enabled through Power Toys app..
I assume Macs use some other ways of inputting these? How do you input letters exactly? What happens if you use some other methods? -

Escape key does that.
If this does not work for you for some reasons — please provide it in the comments.
An error occurred while saving the comment Another way to commit typing text now is to press Cmd/Ctrl+Enter
Unfortunately, using the same hotkey does not starts editing a text, like it does in Photoshop, and there is a feature request to have it: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/38242195 -

An error occurred while saving the comment InDesign has just introduced dynamic filename suffixes on exporting images, similar to the way a popular BatchRenamer script by Sergey Osokin does (https://github.com/creold/illustrator-scripts/blob/master/md/Artboard.md#batchrenamer) — but also with a dropdown way to add these.
Why don’t make a next step and generate something like buttons a user can press to add to the name with a chick, with a chosen method of separating them in the name? Like no more than a dozen?AdminEgor Chistyakov (Admin, Adobe Illustrator) supported this idea ·

Please provide comparison screenshots for the designs you can see a clear difference between these two export methods.
There is a related bug report, and perhaps the quality discussed here is actually a bug: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/38987995
Even if it’s somethings else, it’s not OK the request about image quality does not have a single image as an example. Please share!

An error occurred while saving the comment Gary, what are your specs?
Also — does it get any better if you first go to Effect > Document Raster Effects Settings and lower the resolution all the way down to 1 ppi? It should not, but also can.
Then, how large are your objects you apply the effect to?
Do you have Ray Tracing enabled? — you should disable it for sure and turn on only at final stages. -

A dedicated Save Document Preset button is available in starting with build 28.7, when using modern File New interface.
If you wish to also have a similar button into the legacy dialog, please upvote this request.

An error occurred while saving the comment Workarounds exist, and they are mentioned it this request:
Add grep/regex to Find and Replace feature
http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/42368479But you are correct, this should be available from the box, without scripts...
Microsoft Word allows to search for paragraph breaks with ^p, but it obviously does not work in Ai — should be! -

An error occurred while saving the comment Nigel, there is an existing request about Flow Chart Connectors, http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/34436683, — but it’s more about the actual tool rather than an object type, and the snapping it should have.
But you propose something else... and actually there is a tech within Ai that allows to create connectors you describe (at least partially), if I get it correctly — art brushes with the Stretch Between Guides scale option. And if you create a complex appearance that includes a scatter brush also, to avoid distorting symbols you don’t need to be distorted, you have almost all the tools to create these connectors without introducing this highly specific object type. Have you explored this method? There are some limitations to it, but it’s still usable. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Yes, we need semantic groups within a generated result, when possible.
Background, foreground, parts, objects, to a set level of nesting, to prevent excessive fragmentation and useless groups.AdminEgor Chistyakov (Admin, Adobe Illustrator) supported this idea ·

The issue seems to be resolved in the latest builds.
Please verify or refute it and comment back.

An error occurred while saving the comment Yeah, I confirm this. Should be fixed. Thanks!
...but it definitely does work in all other cases? Or it still sometimes misfires in other cases sometimes?
