As I replied before, this UserVoice forums is a third-party service that is periodically monitored by some Adobe members. It is used to gather, sieve, and prioritize feedback. It is considered by Illustrator team as a final public place for users to log problems and request features.
Adobe Support Communities are general purpose forums, monitored by users and staff, with a lot of experts among both. They can come up with a solution, give a piece of advise, redirect to a report/request here at UV.

As for the problem — it’s clearly a problem, also nothing can be verified just by looking at the screenshots provided or even with the fil you later added — the problem seems to lie in the cloud assets specifically, and the inability of the Ai app to handle them properly. That is my guess.

I notified the team of this problem and am going to do this one more time. Alas, the development of the Ai on iPad seems to be slowed down, but perhaps it is going to change in the future. I wish I can do more... I hope someone form the dev team can contact you personally and see into the library you had and tis quirks.

Yep, bad naming. This option should have been made into a toggle, rather than a checkbox. Still it lacks votes to have any attention from the dev team.

That is weird, because it does not behave like this for me on Windows, and never was... for me both InDesign AND Illustrator scroll horizontally with Ctrl held, zoom with Alt held, and make it faster with Shift added.
I know nothing about any secret option one can toggle to change that! Let’s try to locate the difference. Locale? Version? Mouse model? Drivers? Anything?

You can set your own document profiles that have only what you need.
Trash all swatches, styles, brushes and resave this new document as a default profile (in a separate folder first), add your own, and then copy the file over existing one (or add a new). Access the folder by clicking Browse option in Profile dropdown in the extended New Document dialog window.
Just remember to backup these files, because Ai overwrites defaults each update!

I somewhat agree. An interesting topic to talk about.
Not sure if having an option like 'Don’t load standard presets' (off by default, to respect the legacy, and sticky, of course) will solve this problem either. A newbie won’t understand the option, a pro won’t need the option — they have it all set up already. It does not mean it’s completely useless, and I’d probably would use it, instead of using the 'Clear Unused' action I even have bound to a hotkey... but still I need this on a hotkey, because I open files created by other designers, which do not care about presets (and won’t care, because the 'Clean presets' option would be optional)...
    Educating neophytes is the problem.
Making changes to default presets is the problem.
Both won’t get solved with another option — that’s what I personally think.

You don't need to have this option, really. Just trash all swatches, styles, brushes and resave this new document as a default profile (in a separate folder first) and then copy it over existing one. Access the folder by clicking Browse option in Profile dropdown in New Document dialogue.

Indeed. It always bugged me. Even if I create my own arrowhead and make the arrow part of it a live stroke (and then do this ineffective procedure with saving the file elsewhere, close Ai, replace arrowheads.ai with my modified version) — it behaves not as expected at all!
    Thanks for raising this up.

Does not happen for me. A click in a hidden compound path in the Layers does not do anything, and a click in the eye icon specifically shows/hides the object...
Perhaps it something more with the file? Can you share it?

Mike, we can distribute objects using a key.
Illustrator uses the closest edge to distribute, so you could have to move objects closer to the left edge, like the GIF shows.
Does this method enough or it still feels not good enough? If yes — why?

An error occurred while saving the comment
AdminEgor Chistyakov (Admin, Adobe Illustrator) commented  ·

You can do it, if I got it right. Almost though.
If your target object is below your key object, pressing Vertical Distribute Space in Align panel will move the target object below the key. If the target is above the key — will position above.
    Does it work for you?

There is no Animate on iPad, I suppose you mean Animate for desktop? Why then do you post in the iPad section?
What do you mean exactly? What is your request about in particular? What is it that feels 'complicated' specifically? What does 'mute' here mean?

It is an expected and intended behavior.
A layer container does not get deleted when it has no more objects within, just like on the desktop version.

Got it. A number of people who miss the branch is quite high, sorry.
I confirm that, the option unchecks itself on relaunch.

    I can’t confirm that.
When I save a document with Snap to Grid on, and then relaunch Ai, the options stays checked and it actually works — artwork snaps.
Which version do you use? You are on a Mac, 10.15.7, correct?

I have a suspicion it is related to recent breakup between Adobe and Pantone. Here is a link, in case you missed the announcement somehow: helpx.adobe.com/en/illustrator/kb/pantone-color-books-illustrator.html

In short, Pantone + Solid Coated, while being available still sometimes, does not longer allow to use LAB values, it gets converted to the document space. When you create your own swatch — values hold.

If you still want a collection of LAB swatches — you can purchase their (Pantone) plugin and load swatches using it (it also allows some free stuff), or search for alternatives to Pantone, which exist (I won’t provide links though).

Why? Probably because Pantone wants more money — this is how I personally think. We won’t know the truth ever, and you can read a lot of speculations elsewhere.

The problem is about duplicate objects on top with black strokes with 0 weight. Why do you have these in the first place?
GPU can’t handle these well, and it’s a known bug, similar to this one: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447-illustrator-desktop-bugs/suggestions/43532958-jagged-artefacts-on-edges-of-objects-with-gradient
    Try either of these:
    — Remove duplicate objects
    — Remove black stroke from these objects
    — Increase the weight
    — You can also switch to CPU mode, but it will just hide the problem

I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 26.3.1 which is available worldwide now.

Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html

Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

Good questions, Philip and Paul. I am really glad you asked them.

Despite having an Admin badge, I am a user, just like you. I have my own job, real tasks to design, limited time and the desire to make Ai a better tool, because I spend up to 10 hours in it every day, for a majority of my life.

We are biased. There are many combinations of OSs, drivers, GPUs, builds, plugins, settings... and Illustrator is a complex program. Tests and QA staff do catch bugs, but some slip through. The truth is developers don’t know about bugs caught by users until they are reported. Yes, most of the time they don't get reproduced for them.

I am not an Adobe staff member, although I can contact Adobe staff — so everyone else can do. Email, Twitter, LinkedIn, Slack, you choose.
I am just what the badge says — an administrator here, at UserVoice.

My tone can seem harsh, that’s true.
Aren’t you angry because this shit isn’t fixed yet? I am.
This particular bug — I don’t have it. I am on Windows. But I just see how different people report the same issue using different words and phrasing. I know the pain.
I sew these reports together into a larger one, I try to bring attention from the team, I request help from everybody else — because I want to help and expect the same from everybody else. When it’s fixed — then it’s enough, for me.

NFTs suck — yep, this is my private POV. Protect your work, as Paul says.
If you are bound by NDA — sure, don’t upload anything.
But the bug is generic enough to build a simple test file in small time or strip the important parts from the real project and share it. That’s what some users here did — thanks — and yes, the problem really turned out to be Mac-specific.
Will it help to solve this? I don’t know. I hope so.

There are ways to share a project privately, by using sharewithai@adobe.com email, and I forgot to include it in the status update.

And thank you so much for being open about this. This ship has holes all over it, and we don’t talk about this nearly as much as we should.

This is a GPU rendering issue, Ralitsa. Try to disable GPU rendering for now.

GPU issue. Please send the file and your GPU specs to sharewithai@adobe.com
For now you can switch it off and work in CPU mode.

Mike, it is a GPU rendering issue. GPU renders fast, but can cause artifacts in some cases. It depends from one’s machine’s specs. I checked your file and it renders fine for me.
Try View > Preview on CPU.
Also, please email these files and your exact specs (including GPU) to sharewithai@adobe.com with 'GPU issue' header, please.

This is a GPU bug. If you toggle the rendering mode with View > View using CPU — no border will get rendered, the PNG actually does not have it. The problem is known though.

AdminEgor Chistyakov (Admin, Adobe Illustrator) commented  ·

Denis, I know what you referring to, but I believe it is a completely different problem, but with a matching description. Thomas clearly refers to the GPU artifact for placed PNGs, and you refer to the actually generated and baked artifacts in the PNGs, generated with scale factor other than 100% in Save for Web (and sometimes with 100% also).
Can you please log it as a separate report?
