An error occurred while saving the comment I can reproduce it using the test file by Glafira from below and following their steps.
If I try to replicate it with Pen tool (with Auto Add/Delete option turned on Preferences) and not Delete Anchor Point Tool, the issue does not resurface. So it might be the subtool’s only problem.
Upon checking the artwork form the file I found that the points have slightly different coordinates... but even after fixing them, Delete Anchor Point Tool still prefers the path that is under the selected one!
I tried to replicate the issue from the ground (see AI document attached). I found that in my case the tool prefers bottom object at high zoom levels, but works as expected on lower ones — as the GIF below shows. No problems with the plain Pen tool.
There is another related problem with selections / points / deletion I want to add here.
If I want to delete the point below, I naively select the bottom path and the specific point even, hinting the tool I want to prefer it instead of the point above. Both tools ignore my preferred selection and delete top point instead, as the other GIF shows. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Meanwhile Sergey Osokin wrote a script to do that:
https://twitter.com/Creold/status/1511016752590864392?t=JSd4rnhS8xCYyZFXGyKkfA&s=19
Some few limitations apply, but it's much more cooler than nothing we have now!

An error occurred while saving the comment Ever since Pathfinder treats groups wrong.
Here's simple steps to prove it:
1. Create several rectangles or other paths near each other, overlapping and not
2. Group them
3. Draw an ellipse that overlaps group, crossing each path within it
4. Select everything
5. Use SubtractWhat do you think people want to do when they do this?
I think that people want an ellipse-shaped hole in every path of the group. What does AI do?
It deletes everything in group except bottom-most path and subtract ellipse only from it.Why would ever want to do this?
Pathfinder should treat groups as single object and all it's operation should work for all group's parts, not a topmost one and deleting underlying. It works right in CorelDraw.
It works right in Xara.
It doesn't work in Affinity YET.An error occurred while saving the comment This is very much undervoted.

Illustrator TeamAn error occurred while saving the comment Actually, I am wrong, the issue persists in some way.
Take a look at the file.
The group does not have any pattern applied to any of its parts, therefore 'Transform Objects' option is disabled — because it actually relates to the option next to it, 'Transform Patterns'. Very confusing. And if you want to scale ONLY strokes & effects, but not the geometry, you can’t do that directly. E.g. you have to scale it up physically with 'Scale Strokes & Effects' option on and then scale back with the same option off.
If you apply a pattern to any object, the options are magically get enabled.
Finally, if you want to scale only strokes, but not effects, or vise versa... well, there is another request about that...
An error occurred while saving the comment Aishwarya, I can’t replicate the issue anymore. Thanks for checking! I consider this 'self-healed' and close the report.

An error occurred while saving the comment Please provide more info.
What do you do exactly?
If you are following a tutorial, please provide a link and tell exactly which operation fails for you.
If you are experimenting, please record a video of you trying, with Appearance and Layers panels opened at once. -

An error occurred while saving the comment So far one can replicate a grid they need with four lines and some basic appearances applied. There is nothing difficult about it and it allows greater flexibility than any built-it way can now offer.
Here is an example file attached.
Please open both Layers and Appearance panels to study the solution.Still it requires 6 operations to tweak :)

An error occurred while saving the comment Well, Ai can be slow, but this kind of slow is totally garbage.
Please, can you tell more about notebooks you are using? I know it’s W10, but anything more than this? Versions of Windows and Illustrator, RAM, disk details (total and free size), stuff like that? Without details engineers can’t even start dealing with it -

An error occurred while saving the comment We also need an ability to rename embedded images that are already there.
Please consider implementing both of them!

An error occurred while saving the comment I have a similar looking issue on Windows. Illustrator window shrinks, collapses all my opened panels and never restores them when I maximize the window back. I have to reset the workspace.

An error occurred while saving the comment Wow, what a strange behaviour!
Can you please send the file (if you are allowed to) to sharewithai@adobe.com for the investigation?
Please provide the link to that issue (https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/44892874) in the email body as well. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Eric, it does happen only in GPU rendering mode, right? If you switch to CPU mode, does it get rendered fine?

An error occurred while saving the comment ...and the help page give two different solutions to this!
'Work with objects' section states mentions 'Reset gradient to black and white: Ctrl-click gradient button IN TOOLS PANEL or Gradient panel' but in 'Gradient panel' section there is only 'Reset the gradient fill to default black and white linear gradient: Ctrl-click Gradient Fill box in the Gradient panel', no mentions of Tool panel.

An error occurred while saving the comment I know Fill/Stroke indicator in a toolbar displays what colors Eyedropper applies, but
- it does it after you click, not before
- it displays it not where the action takes place
