An error occurred while saving the comment Berny, check the Apperance panel for that object before outlining.
If it has a Fill applied below Characters, than it’s a ...normal behaviour. It means that a pseudo-group that contains live glyphs has the color, and when it is ungrouped — separate glyphs don’t inherit it (it is fine). But!
How can this happen? Why a text gets colored as a color applied to a text and not characters, as it usually does (maybe)?
It can be cause by Eyedropper tool settings. Pick it and hit Enter. If it has both Appearance items checked there, it means it grabs a color and applies it as it was in the source object. So if sourced group has a top level fill — you will get such text you had. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Hm. Why don’t you use Save A Copy command instead?

An error occurred while saving the comment Hm. What happens, if you click W or H caption next to fields? It should do what you desire.

An error occurred while saving the comment Wait, it’s not like you say for me in the released version (or earlier).
It is 300/150/72 and Other, choosing which makes the field for custom value appear next to it.
Take a look at the screenshot. How does it look for you? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Kerning or tracking?
Ligatures are off or on? (although you claim it''s about any word, I see 'fl' here)
Can you share a packaged file for testing and provide a video of you trying, to understand what exactly you try to do? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Despite Ai saying 'Open' related to PDF, you should know they lie. PDF can be 'opened' only if it was created in Ai and has internal ai-document embedded (that’s what 'Ai-compatibility' option on 'saving as PDF' does — 'saving' as PDF is also a lie, btw). In all other cases — PDF gets imported, with limitations.
Andre, If you want someone to look into your case specifically, then, please, do specify anything.
Your OS, you Ai version, your Reader version, your test file, the video that demoes it... Because I, for example, do not have this problem. -

An error occurred while saving the comment You are welcome, D. A.
You are harsh to 90s software though.
We use this tool because we can make it log results in a file, check them automatically, all by using AHK, and display a warning without calling out Task Manager and doing it manually. But you do, sure, if you like to. Stick to any other method, and please share it if it’s faster than a custom script run in background. An error occurred while saving the comment Well, I know this. I reported this. I have learnt that it is most probably is because of GDI handles leak, and is broken at Microsoft’s side (according to Adobe’s engineers).
There is a way to track this, though. Install GDIView and check Ai’s handles from time to time. When (and if) it’s close to 10000 — save, close Ai and open it back.
Please let me know if the values goes up for you, because this is garbage I am willing to get fixed.
Thank you for the report. -

An error occurred while saving the comment This is definitely something you should record as a video or a GIF. Please do, because it is something new or just is described strangely.

An error occurred while saving the comment You are in Outline mode. View > Outline mode or Ctrl+Y to enter or exit it (although it would say Preview mode if you are in Outline). The document tab says so, see?

An error occurred while saving the comment This is something I know nothing about, and searching finds nothing too.
I afraid it’s very niche.
If you fail to contact the author, try other solutions, there are plenty of them (scripts, plugins). Maybe something could suite you even better. An error occurred while saving the comment Margie, what script you are referring to?
Have you tried to ask the author of it about changes? -

Illustrator allows to unlock individual objects on canvas, if you enable 'Select and Unlock object on Canvas' option in Preferences, Selection & Anchor Display section.
Also, you can right click on the spot that has your locked object, choose Unlock and then this item by its name, without enabling that option.
An error occurred while saving the comment My pleasure :)
An error occurred while saving the comment You can kind of do it, if you enable 'Select and Unlock object on Canvas' option in Preferences, Selection & Anchor Display section.
Also, you can right click on the spot that has your locked object, choose Unlock and then this item by its name, without enabling that option. -

Hi Everyone,
We have added a preference to enable ‘Zoom with Mouse Wheel’. Go to Preferences→ General→ Enable ‘Zoom with Mouse Wheel’.
Also, now you can pan the doucment using the middle click of the mouse.
Both of these functionality are available since January 2021 release (version 25.1) onwards.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback
An error occurred while saving the comment James, you can do it in the latest release — Preferences, General: Zoom with the Mouse wheel.
Yep, this took them that much to add this.An error occurred while saving the comment I would say Ai should have it as an option, indeed. This is a duplicate of existing request, but you still have my vote.
But if you are on Windows and want to have it possible before Adobe makes it real, I advise to use Autohotkey scripts, they allow these and many more.An error occurred while saving the comment You can surely use an AutoHotKey script (only for Windows) to get it work, like this article says (in Russian only, but it's not that hard to understand):
https://medium.com/@krasnovpro/гибкая-кастомизация-горячих-кнопок-в-приложениях-cc80816eb292
But if AI could allow this right from the fresh start, people would definitely use it. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Package your project (with minimal content) and send it to sharewithai@adobe.com with the explanation and a video recorded of you trying, please. This would help to help you, because otherwise — which font? what Ai version? What OS? It all an more of it matters.
