While we all wait, Astute Graphics already made it possible with their DynamicSketch tool. It’s paid, but works good enough. All the pressure gets translated into width markers. Plus they have dedicated tools to deal with variable stroke en masse. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Do I get this right — it’s a CMYK document? and this looks as expected when you try Overprint Preview mode?
Blending modes do behave differently in CMYK, with it’s subtractive vs additive nature...
The white part I get and agree, but what about the teal-teal intersection area? What do you expect to get here? -

I open a lot of documents as well, as sometimes I don’t want to save changes I make into them.
Not asking about saving on close means it can be either closed without saving automatically or saved automatically. I can imagine HUGE problems with either of these routes.An ability suppress these while automating with actions — that’s another deal altogether. Upvote this part :)

If it does — can you describe in details what is happening exactly? Do you mean Adobe account log-in? How many computers do you ahve sharing the same account? When does Ai prompt you to enter your credentials again? What happens with the unsaved documents when it does? -

It’s not a bug really, as I see it.
The path that is inside of the opacity mask has a gradient applied across its stroke. The gradient is black-white-black, its stops don’t have their own opacity changed. Even if it was tranparent-white to white to transparent-white — the opacity is calculated on the object level, and the self-intersection happens before the styling.
To achieve the thing you want you’d have to cut this path inside of the opacity mask and set both parts to Screen blending mode (again, inside the mask).
Not sure though the final result is something that would please you... it’d require cutting the main path as well...
So I see the problem, and I agree it can be better handled. Turning this entry into a feature request.AdminEgor Chistyakov

An error occurred while saving the comment I found this request and feel puzzled by it.
Snap to Pixel still exists today as an option in View menu and one can enable it before creating art to make sure new objects and tools snap too pixels when possible. The mentioned button in the top right corner of the Control panel works to snap an existing artwork to pixel grid, if was created not snapped to it, as a post-operation.
So is it something I can’t understand, or is it just View > Snap to Pixel got lost for you? -

An error occurred while saving the comment I behaves inconsistently, yes, this and other settings. Ai should remember all options we set and if we want it to remember them.

Can you check this — when you do change styles in 29.7.1 — does text get overset, that is overflows the area (getting that [+] icon at the right side of the frame)? -

Can you please share a test fil and record a video to show how it works at your size and what do you do exactly? -

An error occurred while saving the comment This option is a global one, as each option in Preferences is... so toggling it in Properties, or in Transform, or even in Transform Each or Transform effect dialogs (and the last one is bugged because of it) makes this toggled for every document, at the app level.
Mike, please try to watch it closely and see if the behavior you get fits into this paradigm or breaks it. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Not having the active artboard will break a ton of tools built on this premise: plugins, scripts, internal functions... there should be one.
But I understand the frustration.
There is a general request to allow us to customize the color and width of the borders: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/38253112 — please upvote it, if you like the idea (not seeing you there).
But customizing these just to have no borders in Trim View seems like a hassle to me... And Hiding Artboards is not permitted in Trim View... I think this should be reviewed. As a workaround I can offer you to create a dummy artboard while making a screenshot (not that clever, I know). -
