Please accept my sincere apology for the inconvenience. Please get in touch with us at any of the other support channels – https://helpx.adobe.com/support.html . Since this is not a generic issue that we can reproduce at our end, we will need someone to look into your machine to figure out what is going on here.

Being forced to have perfectly square grid cell dimensions isn't always practical. The only way to have a grid that is proportioned to the artboard is to have a square artboard. Not cool.

Illustrator 2026 allows use to choose if we want Smart Guides to be limited to the currently active artboard.
We can toggle the behavior in Preferences > Smart Guides section, in Limit Snapping block, with the new Snap Within: Active Artboard.
Please try to use it and comment back to tell if it behaves as you expect it to. Any feedback is really appreciated and would help to shape it further.

This may be a bug fix, as well.

I really want more votes for this. The snapping drives me crazy. When I do get the correct snap, I always find myself zooming in to make sure that the snap was accurate. More often than not I have to adjust by portions of a point. I have triple checked my snapping settings to make sure it isn't user error. I waste so much time just lining things up.

I hope this is the right location for this. It may be more of a feature request. When trying to utilize the smart guides to align two objects be dragging, often times the object I am dragging will snap to objects from other artboards. This forces me to select the objects that I want aligned, choose a key object, then go to align panel to make sure they are lined up properly. Snapping to the nearest object or something along those lines would make the most sense. Or maybe setting to allow this.

Eyedropper is now available in the color picker dialogue to help you select color from your artwork.
Please download the latest version of Illustrator (V29.2 and above) to experience the changes and let us know your feedback.

Allow for the pathfinder to operate on groups of objects as if the group were one object. Possibly its own pathfinder function. If I am working with a group it is understood that I want to work with those items as one object. However, when using the pathfinder to minus front, and the object below is part of a group it just deletes the entire group along with the portion of the top object that I wanted to get rid of. When would that be useful?

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for this feedback. This has been avialble since June 2020 release (version 24.2). Now, when you’ll select a single object/group, Align To setting will default to Align To Artboard.
Please update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback.
Thanks,
Varun

I am having this issue as well. The shape I am using is pretty straight forward (is asymmetrical). So is the font I'm using (simple sans serif).
